🇺🇸Grow Journal🇺🇸– Week 5 – Mother Gorilla (Royal Queen Seeds) Week 5 Summary This week didn’t go as planned. I switched nutrients, and the plant didn’t respond well, possibly due to overfeeding. I probably should have transitioned more gradually to avoid stressing it. Nutrient Issue • Previously used: Formulex • New nutrient: Ionic Hydro Grow • Possible cause: Ionic Hydro Grow has a higher concentration of nutrients than Formulex. The sudden increase may have stressed the plant. • Symptoms: The new leaves are showing signs of damage, which could indicate nutrient burn. Typically, deficiencies affect older leaves first, so it seems more like an excess—but I can’t say for sure. Corrective Actions • Diluted the nutrient solution to lower the EC. • Initial EC: 2.6+ (but my tap water already has a high EC, so the actual nutrient EC is hard to determine). • New EC: Below 2, but again, since my starting EC is high (around 0.8-0.9), it’s difficult to get an exact reading of the nutrient contribution. • pH adjusted to 5.9-6.0. Current Conditions • Light schedule: 18 hours • Humidity: 70% • pH: 5.9-6.0 • EC: Below 2 (but actual nutrient EC remains uncertain). Next Steps • Observe the plant and see if it recovers. • Adjust the next nutrient mix carefully to avoid overfeeding. • Continue light training (LST), but growth has slowed due to stress. Hopefully, the plant will bounce back. Day 92. First of 3 girls down. Amazing, super productive strain !!! Loved that girl a lot ! Others still to come... Day 101. #1 is jared and #2 is chopped, busy day ! Day 111. #2 is Jared. Only Monster girl left. She is still pushing in ex dry tent. Day 125. Last girl is down ! Day 135. 240 g of nugs from her !!!! My record breaker by a mile ! Happy Growing !!!

I haven’t fed her this week as I trying not to over feed her. She has been doing very well under natural sunlight. She is coming out of the seedling faze she has five fingered leaves coming through. I will continue the draught until I see signs of wilting!

Day 79 28/12/24 Saturday Light 1L de-chlorinated tap water, with added big bud and bud candy 10ml each to 5L. Girls were looking hungry for potassium. Day 80 29/12/24 Sunday Running 1L only de-chlorinated tap water pH 6. Day 1 Today is the first day of flower here we go doing a water changer in 2 or 3 days will set it to 900 or so can't wait to see the first buds on my girls a lot of love in this grow Day 2 Ppm at 450 now time to change out tomorrow Day 3 have a five gallon bucket at 1500 PPM to add back during this week is the reservoir gets low. ppm's are at 1150 with a fresh change of all the water we'll see how she's doing tomorrow Day 4 had a major disaster last night went in to check everything and have an inch of water inside of the tentnot too much water drain from the pots that the roots got dry but it did sprung a leak when I change the water out I filled the buckets too high so my sealed job broke had to think on my feet put the 4 plants into DiY dwc buckets I built with their bubble inside no way of maintaining the temperature in there going to have to get some kind of a new epoxy and hopefully have the system up and running tomorrow. Day 5 all is well with the grow again completely cleaned out the system and all the buckets put the new epoxy on there and everything is leak free did another exchange what the plants back to their original pots with a slight adjustment to the placement I hope the stress of moving the girls is not going to affect my yields too much it is only day five of flower hopefully everything's smooth sailing from here on out P.s had to add the 5-gallon of 1500 PPM nute solution to the reservoir to get everything at the proper level along with some extra Cal mag and a small amount of the other nutes the PPM in the system is now at 740 Day 6 happy to say not much to report lol everything looks good 🙂 Day 7 week over

Gave a light defol on the 21st, mostly on the California Orange Bud. It's been a pretty bushy strain this go around. Flowers are progressing on the younger plants and the older plants are starting to fatten a little.

My new 600 white ballast came in, so I'm back to 2 600 watt lights, happy about that. I did a little Platt training on my clones to get them to bush out so they won't grow so tall next time. Cleaned up all the small popcorn shoots underneath. That wasn't getting any light.

First week flush with off gassed tap water at a ph of 6.5 to 6.9. I'm pushing them extra long and so far results are responsive and look very promising 🍾 . On the suvineer box the seeds came in was labeled with 7 to 8 weeks indoor an 9 to 11 weeks outdoors. Very happy with this from Victory Seeds ..... dripping with resin. 👌🤪👍

1/14: This morning, I did a foliar application of big bloom and fulvic acid, then about 5 hours later I watered them with about a half-gallon of rainwater each and added armor si, humic acid, endoboost myco/tricho, liquid molasses, and a bunch of cal-mag. Today, I also I wired up and mounted my new samsung sun board strips (660nm/730nm) and my Solacure FlowerPower UVB fixture. I'm running the deep red/far red bud boosters a few hours per day right now, but will run them for the entire photoperiod once I start flowering them. I'll run the UVB for 4 * 15-minute sessions a day for the full flowering cycle, and if they don't protest too much I'll increase each session by 5 minutes and evaluate again. Some strains are more forgiving than others and I've got 5 different strains in this space...so really not sure much time I'll get away with exposing them to the deadly rays without damaging them too much...😈 Both "A" and "B" put on an inch overnight. Now that the soooperstunted mutant runt is acting like a normal plant, so henceforth I'll refer to her as "C." 1/15: I received one of the rapid led/growmau far red initiator pucks today. With the placement of my UVB light, I'm realizing I'll need another far red puck to have even and intense far red coverage, so I'm ordering another with Prime delivery and waiting to start flowering until I receive it. I sprayed them down really well with ph adjusted rainwater tonight to rinse off nutrient build-up from foliar applications. 1/16: I'm really excited to try flowering under 14/10. I grew photos indoors on an off for 15 years before I semi-retired. If I added up all the additional flowering time I could have done through the years if LED technology existed, I'd have had an extra truckload of bud to smoke. I did another application of Axiom Harpin a|b Proteins this evening, right before dark. I'm expecting a big growth burst this week, leading up to the flower stretch. I really need them to trigger under 14/10 within 4 or 5 days🙏 ...if not, I'll switch to 13/11 and wait a few more days🙏😟..if still no pistils are poppin, I'll go to 12/12 and chalk it up as bad luck or varietal indifference to Pr and Pfr manipulation. 1/17: I fed each of them about 3/4 gallon of full strength veg nutes. This will be the last. I'll go with half-strength veg and half-strength bloom for a week, then go with full strength bloom nutrients until I start flushing them in 6-8 weeks. 1/18: I installed the second far-red flowering initiator today and got all my timers configured for flowering: ========================================= timer#1 - power strip with qb's and red boosters 10:00am -12:00am timer#2 - (dual/independent setting) sideA- 3-way cube with uva bars 10am - 3pm 7pm - 11pm sideB- flowerpower uvb 1pm - 1:15pm 4pm - 4:15pm 7pm - 7:15pm 11pm - 11:15pm timer#3 - far red pucks 11:00pm - 12:15am timer#4 - sub-canopy tube 10am - 1pm 3pm - 6pm 8pm - 11pm ======================================== I also did some testing on the timers and sealed myself into the closet to check for any light leaks. All good.👌 1/19: Tonight is their first long night. It's ON!👍 I moved #3 into the tent with my DWC rig to veg a little longer. 1/20: I watered them today with about a half gallon each. I'm seeing calcium and magnesium deficiences here and there, so added some boomerang and heavy cal-mag-Fe along with liquid molasses, humic acid, and endoboost myco. I also foliar fed with big bloom and fulvic acid. #3 is still vegging in my SCROG tent with the #8 FFT DWC plant. She's coming along, but still not ready for prime time.. That's it for week 4-

Day 86, 5th of December 2020: Craziest group I have ever had... Honestly I just want to see the end. I will be away for 2 weeks almost. Original Sensible Seeds ladies are dope. Gelato is very nice proper shape one of my favourite she is just nice and not problematic.... :) Runtz Gum is amazing nice big buds are on the way really nice! The same no problem with her at all!!!! Do-Si-Dos OG is just crazy.... She is not an easy lady... problematic... never met a plant like this one. ... Too much strech and now I need to tie and stand her up somehow i broke one branch.... I put a tape arounf so hopefully saves that bud tho....🤣 Her flowers kill her lol Black Ghost OG is sweet and good girl she is the easiest player from them she is good for begginners similar to Wedding Gelato even is shape haha.... Wedding Gelato from RQS is just perfect no problem with her at all... good for begginners as well... :) So This is how it is 5th week has started I just wanna get it done really long journey :) The lamp is now on 11 hours and off 13 hours. Every week 15 minutes was taken off and after 4 weeks here we go. Strated 12/12 and now 13/11 wanted try to imitate the nature as the light days are getting shorter. Fertilization has changed no more epsom salt from this week and I will stop giving nitrogen as well from next week.

I just let them chill and few them and have the extra water as I had to go on vacation for a week

Our Zamnesia Test #3 has reached the small 16 branches that will one day be buds. I'm growing them a little more to make sure they don't go into flowering with small brunches but we're almost there, a few days and they will go into flowering. It's a plant with a low internodal distance, they are not the most suitable for topping due to the slow response of the mini brunches but just let them grow a little and not go into flowering immediately to still get an excellent result. As a general but very general rule, plants with a low internodal distance are less suitable for the application of techniques unlike plants with a wide internodal distance that are very easy to manage, they grow more slowly and can reach excellent sizes even if worked with techniques that keep them short. The topping worked very very well the plant at the time of topping went slightly into overfertilization due to the evident slowdown in growth, so I slowed down the fertilization for growth but without making it go into crisis we are starting to give fertilizer again. When topping is a delicate moment it is probably better to do what I explain below with this plant I managed to keep myself more balanced the others for a week were quite evident. The ideal when topping repeatedly is probably to start with a slow-release fertilized soil or even start preparing the soil for a period that is at least sufficient for the vegetative phase at most adding a little alga grow which alone I must admit gives me some problems at least in this case if the plant grows straight much less indeed nothing. Week2 of flowering and this baby is really stretching. She’s the tallest one in the tent 🏕️. And the smell of mango is great. I had to cut a lot of fan leaves off her for more light penetration. Lot of bud sites, can’t wait to see how she fills out.😎
