Good day to all my friends and visitors here on GD. The finale grow week for the first Tropicanna XL is there (the one by the wall), she came out just lovely and the smell is mad. I could use it as perfume it's so rich and fruity, never had a plant with such outstanding fragrance. This week we start of changing the reservoir water to which I decided to add nutrients. Yes, this plant will not get a flush before harvest, it's the first time i'm not flushing a plant for the cut but you know only two of the four girls are ready to chop and it's not possible in my RDWC to seperate feed them. So yes it's kind of an experiment for me...some time ago i heard that "man does not need to flush"... yeah I don't really believe what the white coats tell us but then we watched Dr Bruce Bugbee stating the same thing and he quoted experiments performed by his team... I believe him, and I don't really have much choice. Something's not right with my fresh solution or the plants get root rot or something but the girls starting to show K deficiency...I ended up adding an insane amount of PK through the week...good that the plants are on the finish line :) The SE7000 runs at 550 Watt and about 33cm from the canopy and is doing an astounding job. Welcome to Week 1 of the Sweet Seeds Gorilla Girl XL Autoflowering grow courtesy of the fine folks at Sweet Seeds! This is the second of three consecutive grows/diaries that I am doing to showcase the tried and tested genetics from this reputable seed breeder. My last grow was a smashing success so I have high hopes for this grow as well. Nothing much to report for Week #1 although I will mention that the first watering was only 0.7 of a litre per plant (0.18 of a litre per plant per day) and the second was 1.4 litres per plant (0.35 of a litre per plant per day). I am watering on my usual schedule of every fourth day as this seems to be the sweet spot throughout past grows. I am using the usual- air bubbled tap water that is PH’d to around 6.0 and if need be (over the winter months in Canada) warmed to 68-70 degrees prior to hand watering with a small watering can. The seedling that lost one of it’s cotyledon leaves is fine but still a little smaller than her sisters. So now on to Mom’s tip of the week… Mom’s Tip for Week #1 is- YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR- QUALITY IS KEY!… When considering growing Cannabis, even on a small scale, quality is an important factor in all aspects from the seeds to set up to the supplies used throughout the grow. Starting with seeds from a established breeder will raise the odds considerably in your favour for a successful outcome. Many seed companies are more than willing to ship out freebies while building up their brands which seems attractive to new growers- but use at your own risk! There’s nothing worse than being halfway through a grow and discovering male flowers tucked in amongst the lowest branches or realizing that your beautiful buds have been mysteriously pollinated just weeks before harvest. I know that seeds from a reputable seed breeder are usually more expensive and can be hard to access in certain parts of the world. But purchasing quality seeds from a reputable seed company is the first step towards homegrown Cannabis success. An area that new growers often overlook due to the high price is the quality of crucial components in their set up- including tent, lights, and intake/exhaust fans. Anyone can get away with cheaper pots, oscillating corner fans, water pumps for dechlorination, etc but it’s worth every penny investing into the workhorses of your entire operation. An initial investment of around two thousand dollars will provide serious growers with the longevity and hassle free basics needed. If done right, quality components will pay for themselves within the first 6-12 months of use and continue to serve your needs for 3-5 years to come. Supplies used throughout the grow are the final area where quality is important but somewhat subjective too. Although I’ve already stated that I don’t feel the need to spend big dollars on all the extras (pots, oscillating fans, water pumps for dechlorination, PH/moisture meters, etc- I do believe in doing my homework to make sure that I’m getting the best bang for my buck. I thoroughly research every item purchased and used in my grows by reading customer reviews, speaking with other growers and sometimes even trial and error at my own expense. Making quality an important factor in all aspects of Cannabis cultivation will benefit you, your grows and the planet we live on. 🌳🌎🌳

Diese Woche gehts nach draußen, denn das Wetter ist gut und die Eisheiligen sind durch. Die Tropicana Cookies hat ihren Endtopf bezogen und darf jetzt als erste im Außenbecken schwimmen. Das System besteht aus 2 Solarzellen. Die linke betreibt eine kleine Luftpumpe und hat sogar einen integrierten Akku, sodass sie auch nach Sonnenuntergang noch weiter pumpt. Bis zum nächsten Morgen schafft sie es allerdings nicht. Die Leistung ist eher mäßig, aber ich habe durch einen anderen Schlauch und einen durchlässigeren Airstone alles rausgeholt, was möglich war. Die rechte Solarzelle betreibt eine kleine Teichfontäne, die ich direkt gegen den Deckel spritzen lasse. So läuft die NL am Deckel und am Topf entlang bekommt dabei viel Oberfläche. Ich hoffe damit die NL zusätzlich mit Sauerstoff anreichern zu können und die NL an sich so weit in Bewegung zu halten wie in einem RDWC. Die Zelle ist nicht besonders Leistungsstark und dadurch pumpt die Pumpe tatsächlich nur, wenn die Sonne scheint. Ob das reicht werden wir in diesem Experiment feststellen. 😅 Dann habe ich zusätzlich noch den Eimer Isoliert, indem ich einen 40L Stofftopf drüber gezogen habe. Der Schatten schützt den schwarzen Eimer vor der Sonne. Die Steine auf dem Deckel schirmen den Deckel ebenfalls ab und halten abends ein wenig die Wärme, sodass der Eimer langsamer und hoffentlich etwas weniger in der Temperatur schwankt. Ich werde aber wohl noch eine Abdeckung bauen, da ich mit der Optik sehr unzufrieden bin. ********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************* In Vlog #4 und #5 könnt ihr den Fortschritt in bewegten Bildern miterleben. 8/10 - In prep for flower I've got some Compost Tea brewing with a little Terp Tea Bloom by Roots Organics. .Also did a little selective defoliation 8/11 - Flipped the ladies to flower today! And all is good in the 8x4. 8/12 - Watered all the ladies with the Compost/Terp Tea. Also did some more defoliation and added some mosquito bits for added pest prevention.

Fed once this week with a weak feed including top max. I use kombucha vinegar as pH down. Water from my tap is ph6.8-7.0 and 38-42ppm so I might start using calmag supliment as the ppm at my old house used to come out of the tap at ph7. 2 and 200-220ppm. I had 2 plants that didn't like the light at 30000 lux and started bleaching so I took them out. I've defoliated today day 35 as humidity was getting over 80% and also to let light to the lower bud sights. Pre flower pistils showed on some plants around day 33 (some still have none) so I'll consider this the end of veg start of flower. The kalimist indica pheno is still not showing pre flower pistils but is always hard to force flowering when it's not mature for some reason. It's always 7-14 days behind everything else 🤔

Week 11 (10-4 to 16-4) 10-4 Temperature: 24.4 degrees (lights on) 21.1 degrees (lights off) Humidity: 60% (highest) 52% (lowest) No pictures. Added 10L to the reservoir, and turned it on for a couple of minutes. 11-4 Temperature: 24.4 degrees (lights on) 21 degrees (lights off) Humidity: 61% (highest) 52% (lowest) 12-4 Temperature: 25.5 degrees (lights on) 22 degrees (lights off) Humidity: 65% (highest) 57% (lowest) Turned the reservoir on for a couple of minutes. 13-4 Temperature: 26.5 degrees (lights on) 23 degrees (lights off) Humidity: 65% (highest) 56% (lowest) 14-4 Temperature: 26.4 degrees (lights on) 22.1 degrees (lights off) Humidity: 64% (highest) 45% (lowest) Turned the reservoir on for a couple of minutes. The reservoir is almost empty, there is 850 ml left. 15-4 Temperature: 24.4 degrees (lights on) 20 degrees (lights off) Humidity: 59% (highest) 49% (lowest) No pictures. 16-4 Temperature: 23.5 degrees (lights on) 19.5 degrees (lights off) Humidity: 60% (highest) 53% (lowest) Today i defoliated both plants heavily for the last time, you can say i did a method called: schwazzing. Dont know why but while i was defoliating the Chemdog smelled a little bit like soap haha. Turned on the reservoir for a couple of minutes. (Till the AutoPots are full and the valve closes) Rised the pots aswell, so the canopy is very even. I let them recover from the heavy defoliation i did, and next week i will slowly increase the light's strength. (Now still at 50% 50cm)

Growing frosty buds and enjoying life. Marks of the previous accident are still observable. But she is growing great smelling flowers.

7/7 Grow diaries isnt letting me post a harvest week. So heres a little teaser. 65 grams dry. 2ounces 9. kaprikorns website says this is a low yielding plant. i cannot fathom what their high yeilding plants will do. this cultivar was only 12 inches from the soil line. i trained her fairly intensely but it was worth it. not much larf and the main nugs are nice and uniform. if you didnt train this plant, i can see how it wouldnt really yield much.

I've been dealing with a lot of heat issues. I've tried different things and what seems to have helped is more fans in the tent, and I put a bucket of ice in daily. The video is a time-lapse from week 3 and part of four. Jenny had some slight leaf cupping most likely due to some heat stress which I've since corrected. I also come to realize in week 4 I was underwatering/feeding my plants. Raising the lights, adding fans, and daily ice buckets have made for really great looking plants in the tent. Once in a while, I have dropped some dry ice in and it seems to give the plants a little boost. It may be in my head, but the temp drop, the co2 release, and humidity bump seem to have helped. The only type of LST I have done is put a fan in to blow the plants around, and I have tucked some bigger leaves under smaller ones to expose the new growth or flowering site to more light. All in all, I have been hands-off with my plants. I do rotate them and shift them around the tent a lot.

The stretch is real!! These are going to be some nice buds I think!! Stay tined!!

11/15 Coming along but not without problems. 3+ weeks in now I'm in the stage where I'm just trying to push all the right buttons and guide it to harvest. They've all demonstrated some level stress but bud formation is coming along well. I dont know if I'm just used to the smell but it hasn't really gotten much stronger. I'll try to take some more pics later on. The past week has been a little busy.

Trichomes are looking milky and full. Going to give one more light feeding, and then flush em towards the end of the week. G13 has some calyxes that are growing in top of existing bud... possible this one keeps growing for another week, but seems like Banana is ready to go. Is there any downside to getting one gallon sized Mason jars for curing? I've yet to have a successful dry/cure, so really hoping to dial it in this time with the proper climates.

Además, hemos cambiado la estrategia de riego: Riegos más cortos y continuos Objetivo: subir la EC del suelo, que estaba bastante baja 📉 EC suelo inicio semana: 0.5 📈 EC suelo final semana 3: 1.2 Este control ha sido posible gracias al sensor 3-en-1 del kit GGS AC5 de Spider Farmer, que nos está facilitando muchísimo el ajuste fino del cultivo. 🔹 Próximos riegos. A partir de ahora, en los siguientes riegos añadiremos Atazyme de Atami a la tabla, para mejorar la actividad radicular y ayudar a asimilar mejor los nutrientes. 🔹 Iluminación y clima. Hemos subido la potencia del LED Spider Farmer SF2000 301H EVO al 75%, lo que ha provocado Un ligero aumento de la temperatura ambiente Mejor intensidad lumínica para esta fase de crecimiento Por ahora las plantas están respondiendo bien a los cambios, con un verde sano y crecimiento constante. Seguimos ajustando poco a poco, sin prisas pero sin pausas 💪🌿

They continue to grow upward, maybe it's the red light, but the stretch doesn't seem to have really stopped yet. This is going into week 5 now.

Day 125. Chop day. Report will follow, maybe smoke quality will be that only positive thing in all dirt that this strain brought me .... Dry triming chosen. Plants where such crap that never got names even, so Smaller and Taller plant is chopped. Other two went hermie.

Entramos en semana 4 de flora con un calor extremo con el Lec... a la espera de renovar equipo a led pero tendremos que acabar con Lec está tirada farmers, a pesar de todo tiene bastante resina y huele bastante bien sobre todo la Sweet Skitllez!🍁

Edit from 16th May. Ok, so... I got Fungus Gnats... I vacuum cleaned my plant my accident... Overwatered first 2 plants... This is not like riding bicycle, I had to re-learn few things. But we going strong! The biggest plant (Fat Banana week #4) growing big and strong, every 2 hours I can notice some changes, she seems to like the environment (32C and ~40% Humidity), soil stays wet for weeks literally. I have to buy bottom feeders and keep the top soil dry bone to prevent Fungus Gnats having sex in wet soil. I have switched to 600W now and I put my lamp around 30cm higher then before. I have a net for Sea Of Green hanging and waiting but Im not sure If Im gonna use it or If I'm gonna "lollipop" these plants just because there is so many of them now there. I didn't "top" because I believe that main cola produce some banger THC content and terps, so I want to focus on all main colas and just tackle the side ones. Edit from 17th May. It looks like Fungus Gnats don't like 24h light. I can see larvas trying to eat the roots (fuck you you fucking.... FuckYouGnat). But I don't see adults flying around. 4x yellow tape helps as well for sure. I ordered some Nematodes, they should be here next week. Until then I'm fighting manually. I placed a decoy on most of the pots. I'm hoping to attract larvas to the decoy instead of baby roots of my plants. They already eat one of my seedling before it even fully open the shell, so I think there are not so many of them to attack all plants at once. I feel like I'm having more and more control over them everyday. Moving the dry soil to the sides also helps a bit with killing larvas. Just uncover the wet parts with larvas and blast them with all the watts you have. So far 2 big plants looks good and healthy, some praying leafs every now and then. I think I'm gonna leave the lights for 24/7 until I'm gonna be sure these FuckYouGnats are gone. Edit form 18th May. Nematodes arrived, I mixed 1 pack in 2L and watered all 8 pots. I have 1 pack left that I'm planning to use next week or after 2 weeks. Lady Banana is showing her sex. I was worried that it looks like hermie but I think it's just Calyx in very early stage. She also looks "wilt", I guess from all that dry period, she got some water today with nematodes, I'll check on her tomorrow. Vacuum Cleaner Surviver going strong! I believe she would even survive a house fire!
