This plant is beautiful, wish I had taken a clone! Reaching peak flower now so added PK into the mix for extra Potassium and Phosphorous over the next 10 days or so. Never had plants soak up this much nutrients without any burn (touch wood) so I'm really impressed with the Vitalink range. This plant is at the front left of the tent, and to the rear of the screen in the timelapse. Heavily defoliated for the final time this week, allowing for the light to reach as many bud sites as possible.

Day 28-35 (Day 29) I had some leftover pH 5.5 water from my other grow, it’s a little acidic but my medium is pretty base so it should balance itself out soon. (Day 30) Plants didn’t respond well overnight. They’re drooping and not looking very happy anymore. I’m guessing they will still recover in the next few days though. I’ve got to stay more consistent with the water. I’m going to make a water formula and consistently use it every time. I don’t like these pH fluctuations. (Day 33) I’m going to sprout 8 more plants today to help fill out the tent before I flip. I will be using pretty lame genetics but I will probably still find something I like. Got x2 SM Jack Herer, x2 SM Blueberry, x2 SM The White OG, x2 SM Badazz OG cheese. Last time I ran badazz og cheese it grew fine and yielded well but it got some pretty bad powdery mildew and the quality was lacking. I will make sure to give as many preventative sprays as possible before flip. This whole tent is highly susceptible to powdery mildew so I might be in for some issues later down the road. I will make sure to vacuum frequently and spray down the tent and my equipment as much as possible. The slurricane has recovered from its topping and is producing two new main stems. Its going through water quite fast so I’m going to transplant into a 1.7g pot. (Day 35) Dropped the ball hard today and accidentally knocked over the tray with all my new seedlings. Good news is they just got watered and were firm enough to keep all 8 seeds rooted and in place. Bad news is I mixed up almost every single container..... The only plant I am certain of the genetics is one of the cheeses. The other 7 are all mixed up! I’m sure I can tell all 4 apart by late mid-late flower, but this just sucks. I guess I will number them like prisoners 😭😭 I overwatered the slurricane a bit and it is looking like it has a lockout of some sort or it could be from the foliar spray. I’m going to back off and let it do it’s thing for the next week. I hope all the stress I’m putting it through will slow it down to the level of the locos and garlics. Garlics are looking happy so I’m going to transplant them into 1.7s today. Might as well get this slurricane, guava and locos transplanted too. Guava appears to be growing quite healthy but has had interveinal chlorosis since it has sprouted. If it doesn’t green up in the next week I will pull it. Man, I can’t help but feel this grow has been cursed since the beginning. Although a rough past don’t always make for rough future. I found a way to consistently pH my water to 6.2 every time. I’m starting with 60ml of chlorine free bottle, adding in 2000ml of RO water and just that alone gets me to 6.2. I can also add in 3ml of remo nutrients calmag, 2ml of EM1 microbes, 2ml of 0-0-15 kelp extract and the pH will stay stable at 6.2.

here we see how the girls are advancing, the buds are becoming clearer and clearer which makes us feel that it will be a decent harvest at least, we cross our fingers.

Transplanted to 40l container on week 4 day 1. Container has approx 30l in it. Also added a photo of the setup for size reference. Let me explain my thinking behind the repotting strategy. Firstly I should say that I am quite an old school kind of grower, although I've never grown cannabis before I have grown hundreds of other plants. Due to my experience with other plants, I understand the value of well planned and executed transplants, they can have an absolutely transformative effect upon root systems when done properly, as far as I know it's the main reason why they are done at all. It is fair to say I have never grown any auto-flowering plant indoors before, and I have read all about how you should not transplant autos, and all the good reasons why not. Ultimately though, as I am not called UnorthadoxDude for nothing, I believe that I can make it work with an auto, and get the benefit of improved root growth pattern, without delaying or interrupting the growth. I want to have my cake and eat it, as it were. So the strategy is to avoid transplant shock, which admittedly I have already failed in the first unplanned transplant, but in my hopeful naivety I still believe I can make the second one work! I'm using coco, and I have had the larger pot prepared and have been watering and feeding them as well as the plant. If I am careful not to disturb the plant at all, and move the entire contents of the pot gently into the larger pot (which is exactly the same medium in broadly the same state), then I may be able to avoid shocking the plant and just let it crack on. We will find out in a few days! If it stops growing or slows at all then I failed, otherwise it worked! A note about my use of organic nutes with coco. I have read a lot about coco and nutes and microbes and PH and TDS and what have you, and I know that the overwhelming majority of people believe that you can't or at least shouldn't use organic nutes with coco. The thing is, I like organic gardening, I prefer to cultivate a beneficial microbiota and keep it healthy. I recycle, and reuse all my compost except where a plant is diseased and this has worked well for me for a long time. I've never grown with coco before though, I always used soil. I wanted to gain the benefits of coco (better drainage, more air to roots, lighter, less inviting to pests, etc) - but I wanted to use a method of nutrition that I was already familiar with. I think I've mentioned that I am not called UnorthadoxDude for nothing, so I am using BioBizz and coco. By adding bacterial, mycorrhizal, and trichoderma inoculants and having the unplanted coco in the tent being fed and watered I hope to have cultivated a nice microbiota which will feed my plant. That's the theory. However just in case, I have a trick up my sleeve. Now, I do not know if you are aware of this, but there is a fiery debate raging on the internet about using BioBizz organic nutes with coco for cannabis. Some people try it, most people shout it down, and I have not found much in the way of solid evidence of it being a good idea. Except one! I found a commercial grower that has used biobizz nutes, and he said that as long as you are using "Acti-Vera" you can use anything from the BioBizz organic range. Apparently the enzymes in the mix break down nutes chemically in a similar way to what the theoretically missing microbes do. So I have ordered a bottle of that, and if my microbial cultivation attempts don't work out, I at least know I have a fallback that should work. Those are my thoughts on it, let's see how it pans out. Oh I should also probably point out that I am growing some companion plants, specifically alfalfa (nitrogen fixing), basil (improved flavour), and German Chamomile (increased essential oil production). Update week 4 day 2 dropped PH to 5.8 after advice from a grow question. Look! It's carried on growing... maybe there was no transplant shock? Update week 4 day 3: Growth continues, interveinal chlorosis lessening. Plant is pushing out node five at the moment. Update week 4 day 4: Growth continues, interveinal chlorosis further lessening. Apologies for the poor quality photos for the last few days, I was lazy and didn't want to move everything out to photograph. Today I have done that and the pic is better. I am declaring the second transplant a complete success. I do not believe that plant was in any way shocked. Update week 4 say 5: I think I've finally managed to overwater. Going to skip watering today. Update week 4 day 6: Photo taken just before lights on hence wilting. Growth continues to accelerate. I believe the alfalfa has been raising the PH so I've removed it. Today I will flush through with PH lowered water and then fertigate. The colour is still too pale but the growth and overall look and feel of the plant screams to me that it's happy and about to explode. Day 27.5 flushed with 30l of PH lowered water then fertigated with 5l. Day 28: Height 12cm Width: 28cm Nodes: 6 Weekly growth data: From 5cm Height to 12cm +140% From 12cm Width to 28cm +133% From 4 primary nodes to 6 +50% Summary: Wow, wow. Wow. What else can I say. What a crazy week, amazing and unexpected given the problems. I am really excited to see what happens over the next seven days!! It looks like it has quite severe chlorosis, but otherwise seems robust and is seriously stretching. Almost unbelievable growth. Pre-flowers appeared a few days ago, so I guess this was the final week of veg. Let's see how the first week of flowering stretch goes! Update 7/2/23: My instincts about this plant on week 4 day 6 were absolutely correct, she was happy and, she was about to explode. Since my early attempts at transplanting, I practiced multiple times with Citronella (a photoperiod plant) and then I did it again with an auto (Polly) - this one went flawlessly and further demonstrates that you can transplant an auto without shocking it. Time will tell, because I can compare Polly to both Misty and Nesia both of whom were sown directly in their final pots.

MID-WEEK UPDATE: Gave the twins their second last feeding today. A few nights of 14-16 Hour Dark periods as well due to plans/not having timers but as I said before I think the longer Dark periods have really sped up the flower development. PURPLE IS STARTING! Some very nice purple is starting to come into the cals and sugar leaves 😈 Going to push some lower temps in week 8 to get as much colour out of them as possible. Arnold still heavy fan leaf fading. Ran straight water through the medium before todays feeding incase any build up nute locked it. Never fully bounced back from the last feed but also getting near the end. I have a feeling I'll pull Arnold first in week 8 then maybe let Danny go for a more couch lock. Danny: GRAPE SMELL. Holy, I don't know if it's more of a Grand Daddy Purp pheno or what but holy is the grape smell off of Danny insane. Almost like a different strain compared to the smells off Arnold. WEEK 6! HOME STRETCH OF GLAZED GROW #1! The smell is insane. What started as a premature musk has slowly evolved into sticky ass chocolate goodness, fresh mint/herb, and even some grape/fresh fruit smell on the fingers after defol and mold checks. Noticing a hint of that GASSS too as we start to enter the final ripen. This will also mark the final week of Nute feeding. Fed today and probably two more Weds/Sun. Then will switch to Molasses/Water for Week 7 and plain water for first half of Week 8 before the dry out. As you can see, Big Arnold is showing cal/mag and PH problems. Always bounces back after PH perfect feedings and I've been defoliating the faders as we go to save bud energy. It's been rootbound since mid-flower and I'm sure the whole root zone is a mess. The extra work I've had to put into a soilless peat-based medium like ProMix with a photoperiod plant has been great practice and experience but I'm looking forward to a few round of autoflowers and soil grows to dial back the difficulty settings through the winter months. 5/24 Woke up on payday to find that my father is in the hospital. My house was robbed a few days before so I guess the hits keep coming. The plants are doing good though. I'm glad I kept them in as we had a frost last night. I moved my cage yesterday onto the asphalt and put the big pallet in. I just need to sanitize the others before they go in the cage. I'm being super cautious. I think tomorrow will be the day I make the switch to the garage while they fill out these 3's.OK. 5/25 Plants were all moved to the garage with the door open for indirect light. It's 54 degrees. At night I'll pull them back in and give them a few more hours under the hps which will also help with heat. Knocked a stem sideways but it'll pop back. Feels good to get things moving. HST seems to being going good. UPDATE: Went back over at one and noticed that the plant I hit with a wire (or something I didn't see what happened) was almost sideways and really loose. I had tied it to a clip with flagging. That didn't work. I asked a friend and I ended up pinching off the first true leaves then mounded happy drug up around it to keep it upright. It LOOKS much happier. Of course that shit happens to your biggest healthiest plants. Oh well all the 10th planet are doing phenomenal. Can't wait to move these girls to there final homes. Plants went under lights at seven. I'm acclimenting them to the right light schedule. I don't want to jump from 18/6 to 15 hours. They did really good in the cold Temps and wind. The big one I had to fix looks like it's doing great. Once they are hardened and fill these pots they go in their final home. 5/26 Plants did great being in direct sunlight for a few hours and staying in the garage at night. They look super healthy. I'm planning on watering tomorrow. Wondering if I should start to add some silica to strengthen the stalks. Also wondering if I should add more soil to some of the pots like I did to the other one as the stretched a little. This is something I may do tomorrow before I water. Went back over to switch the lights on and pull the plants back and lock up at 7:30. Forgot my phone of course and these girls were looking amazing. I have to water tomorrow. I coukd add more soul to some of the pots but I'm reluctant due to stem rot. They'll get buried much deeper in there final homes. Don't want to mount up soil and then water and promote rot. Anyway plants are adapting amazing. Dialing the light closer to normal here. This is a great transition place for them to he. I've noticed a few wrinkled leaves but thats to be expected. Oh, I got my free pure Michigan seeds from premium cultivars!!! 5/27 WATERED EVERYTHING TODAY WITH HALF A Powerade BOTTLE APPROX. 16OZ. Plants are in direct light in the mornings and I haven't seem any burning yet. I noticed a small spot on one of the first true leaves but I think it's just a bite from an insect. Everything is green as hell. I'm wondering if I should add fresh soil to the pots but I didn't want to do it on a watering day. Plus the plants will be going in there final homes shortly. Very happy with progress this far. UPDATE Went over at 1230 and everything looked great. I sanitized the cage AND the pallets. Also bought 3 more 30 gallon grow bags. Once they go in there they will explode! I can't wait. I'm considering ordering netting for moths. Depending on price i might get some. If not I'll keep using the BT. UPDATE: Went and checked around 430. Temps were in the 70's and they had a few hours of direct sun. No burns evident as of yet. Pallets fit in the cage like puzzle pieces. Now I need to sanitize my grade stakes bamboo and trellis and setthat stuff up. I'm going to screw the grade stakes to the pallets and attach garden rods and bamboo with zip ties and I'll have a horizontal trellis. Once branches are a little bigger I'll begin LST. The plants that I topped AND the ones I FIMed are doing great. The FIMed ones with at least three colas some have four. Hoping the plants took that time growing roots. 5/28 Plants are all standing up tall. They loved that water. Haven't noticed any burns and they get direct sunlight in the mornings. Soon I can put them in the cage and start setting up my trellis and supports. Fan leaves on soms are bigger than my hands. These girls are probably the healthiest plants I've grown. I usually do clones and end up starting with problems. This is great starting with seeds and have no problems. UPDATE: Went back around two because Temps had reached 92f and rh was only 20%. Nights cool off greatly so it's a dramatic temperature shift. Plants looked great. All standing up looking great. Put plants in at 7:30 ,and continue the light until 9 and have it turn on at 4am. Then they are out by sunrise. Did notice some burning on one of my plants a large fan leaf. What can I say? It was extremely hot. I'm surprised they did as well as they did. 5/29 Everything standing up perfectly looking great. Plantscget an extra hour of sun at night and morning and are on 19/7 with the extra added light. Trying to acclimate and finish hardening off this week. I'd love to be able to at least put them in full sunlight for the day. I think they'd be fine. I'm really impressed with how they are growing. Second guessing not HST all of them. However I think I might light dep a couple. We'll see. I've still got work to do. UPDATE: put the plants in around 7. One of my lights shit the bed. They are just 150 watt hps but I was using them to finish hardening off my plants and slowly adjust them to the natural light. The on/off switch fell off. I'm sure my cousin can fix it bit the one is pe9bably fine as I'm only going fir a few more days. The thing about having this many plants to choose from is that I can pheno hunt and put the VERY best into the final containers and if I decide too I could light dep. 5/30 WATERED EVERYTHING TODAY WITH HALF A POWERADE BOTTLE. My cousin can probably fix the other light but I don't think it will matter. Within a week I'm going to have these girls in their final homes. I just need to sanitize the trellis and posts and then screw them to the pallets. I'll have this all taken care of before the plants go in the hole. I did notice another burn on a leaf. Def glad I'm taking the time to do this right. UPDATE: I put the girls in the barn around 7:30 and flicked the one 150 watt HPS light I have working on. I added a half hour more of darkness to try to acclimate them quicker. Light stays on until 9 qnd came back on at four but i changed it to 4:30. I'm usually there by 5. I'm looking through my surveillance cameras and it doesn't even look like the light is on. Of course its super bright out but I should be able to see from that image. Luckily the building the go in has massive windows up top to let light in and windows on every side so the light is probably unnecessary. However due to my bullshit luck last year I'm being as cautious as I can. Tomorrow is supposed to be extremely hot again as is the next day. I think I'll leave the door down a little, open the other and move the plants back so they have no direct sunlight and adding a fan. That way they can continue to recover. They seem bigger everything I see them. 5/31 Another hot day. I figure a few more days (under a week) and I can transplant these girls! Supposed to be 85 today and 90 tomm. It was 45 when I got here. These girls are doing well handling this bipolar weather. UPDATE: IM AN IDIOT AND THIS IS AN 8 DAY WEEK lol. Maybe I'll do a six day week next time to get back on track. Went back over at two and noticed some burns. Sent a video to a friend andcwith the sun we've had and the weather in the 90's he agreed the damage was minimal. However there was someone there working who opened more doors which let a lot more light in. It's supposed to be in the 90s tomorrow too. I may leave the doors shut. There are windows on everyside and an enormous cone at the top so the get plenty of sun. He also grows and I've been careful to not let anyone that grows go around my plants. I'm going to have to talk with family about this. To be honest I'm kinda pissed. Next watering I may add some kelp me kelp you and start a small nute regimen. UPDATE Went back over at seven after having a panic attack. Half stoned half asleep. Stupidly I was looking at a plant and thought "shit" the FIM must not have took but in reality I was just stoned and tired so I topped a plant that had already been fimmed so we'll see how that goes. Purple punch is so far behind everything else it's not even funny. There might be one that's doing pretty well and that of course is the one with no HST. Branches on the other strains are thick and ready for LST though. What I think I'll do is transplant the 10th planets and the blueberry cheese ones that are ready and hold off on the rest for a while. Hopfully I'll be able to show plants in final homes next week.
