It is so very hot now every day here. All my girls are suffering from the heat and they need to be watered very frequently. I avoid drying them out completely. She is developing nice long colas that start to smell really good.

🌿 Lava Cake – Week 5 (First Week Flower) | Pre-Bloom & Heat Talk 🌿 The Lava Cakes have officially stepped into their flowering tent… though, to be fair, they’re still enjoying a little extra veg time before showing pistils. Both phenos are healthy, lush, and stretching beautifully, clearly ready for the show ahead. ⸻ 📸 Photo Studio Glam We took them out for another studio shoot, bright lights, clean background, and every angle showing off their deep greens and perfect branching. Soon, their beauty will be dressed in flowers, but for now, the leaf structure alone is worthy of the spotlight. ⸻ 🌡️ Current Conditions • Room Temp: 31°C • Humidity: 50.3% • VPD: 2.23 kPa • PPFD: 766 µmol/m²/s • Soil EC: ~2.0 • Soil Temp: 25.6°C Yes, the temperature is running hot — AC unit is on the way to lock it back into our ideal zone. ⸻ 💬 Heat in the Grow Room – Risks & Benefits Potential Risks: • Faster substrate drying = more frequent irrigation needed • Higher transpiration rates can stress plants if roots can’t keep up • Slightly increased risk of light stress at high PPFD without proper cooling • Possible reduced terpene retention if sustained into late flower Possible Benefits (short term in veg/pre-flower): • Accelerated metabolism — plants grow and stretch faster • Increased water/nutrient uptake (if well-fed and watered on time) • Can improve CO₂ usage efficiency if levels are high enough Bottom line: As long as they’re hydrated, fed, and ventilated, short bursts of high temp are manageable. But for flowering, we want to keep daytime temps closer to 24–28°C for optimal quality. ⸻ 💧 Watering Strategy We water when the soil dries to about 25% moisture remaining, this encourages: • Stronger root growth searching for water • Better oxygenation of the root zone • Less risk of root rot in warm temps Right now: They’re drinking daily due to the heat, so we’re feeding daily as well. ⸻ Current Feeding (per L of water) • Aptus Regulator – 0.15 ml • Aptus CalMag Boost – 0.25 ml • Aptus All-in-One Liquid – 1 ml • Aptus Top Booster – 0.25 ml With the increased drinking rate, nutrient uptake has increased — meaning no signs of deficiency, just steady lush green. ⸻ 🚀 Looking Ahead • AC installation will stabilize temps, allowing tighter VPD control • First signs of pistils should appear within the next 7–10 days • We’ll begin adjusting feed ratios for early bloom once flowers set • Light intensity will climb further as stretch continues ⸻ 💚 Closing Note: This week is all about momentum, heat or no heat, the Lava Cakes are pushing upward, prepping themselves for a heavy flower load. Lineage; Hotcakes (Katsu Bubba X Burnt Toast from Raw Genetics) X Grape Ape Welcome to Week Seven, our last Veg Entry These Girls loved the topping last week.. & didn't really miss a beat as far as growth is concerned, a minor delay but still cracked an inch worth of height gained this week. As most seam to have a very tight growth pattern I honestly think they're going to be monsterous tower's in the coming weeks. with that in mind I gave everyone a good leg shave to increase those chances. Also The Frist trellis is up ! after talking with Katsu about how much he thinks this particular strain may stretch.. i've decided to hang 2 lines of support across these girls. this first being right as we move into FLOWER ! teh second line will go up one the stretch stops..(week3-4 maybe we will see) With that being said, after a slight flush @6.6ph Water, & 24 Hours of darkness happening as I type this entry.. They will receive their first Flower Feeding in the Morning! & the next entry will be our first week of flower ! It is always a blast working from a pack of Reg Seed, let alone an Exciting project like these Katsu beans ! and as we move into flower next week I've taken cuts that I'm hopeful will ensure I have the BEST of the Best Flowers from this run to keep for another run at least.. and maybe even outdoor 2021. During week 4 (=flowering week 2) the 18 CANNALOPE HAZE plants from DNA-GENETICS grew like hell and started to develop their first white hairs (=female pistils of the plant). The speed in which the little white crowns appear is astounding to me, I LOVE IT! The lamps are now hung at the producer recommended distance of 22 cm (=LUMATEK) and 45 cm (=SANlight) and both run at 100% power (=no more dimming for now!). The difference between the left side (=Lumatek) and right side (=SANlight) can be seen clearly in the videos. The plants on the right under the Q6W-Gen. 2 LED-Lamps from SANlight have a darker, healthier green color and have produced VISIBLY MORE FLOWERS then the plants on the left side under the Lumatek PRO 600W. Lets see how this goes further next week...😎

Both parents of this cross were super gas very weak start. Plants were not strong enough to push the seeds off so I had todo surgery. I really wander if it has something todo with how long you dry the seeds these were almost fresh seeds maybe 13days after harvest then I popped them. 3 of them going so far

📆 Semana 9 Las plantas avanzan en la fase de maduración avanzada, con los cogollos ya muy desarrollados, compactos y pesados, centrando toda su energía en el endurecimiento y afinado final. Los cálices terminan de hincharse y la resina alcanza niveles muy altos, cubriendo bien todas las flores. Los pistilos aparecen mayoritariamente oxidados, aunque aún se mantienen algunos blancos, indicando que la planta está cerca de su punto óptimo pero todavía en proceso de cierre. Se aprecia un leve foxtailing en algunas puntas, algo sutil propio de esta fase final, sin afectar a la calidad ni a la densidad general. La absorción continúa ralentizándose, mostrando claramente que la planta entra en su última etapa, enfocada en estabilizar su maduración y perfil aromático. Seguimos creciendo fuerte 💪!

It's chop down day she has 25% ambers now I would like 50%+ but she has had a rough life and it will most likely go to concentrates so less ambers the nicer the colour I find so I made the decision to chop her and I got no room in my tents for her as the website said 9-10 weeks and she's 11 and a half now and I try to have perpetual grows.

This strain was overall awesome. It had absolutely wonderful colors while growing with a great sweet very good sent. Definitely will grow this again awesome all the way around. Haven't problems with this strain Thanks Fastbuds:)

So, eventful week. Prior to putting my seeds into my system, my light and rdwc system was left on as I was dialling in the growing environment before placing the seeds as a final home. My only issue was I had a light leak BEFORE putting the foil top covers on the clay pebbles. Long story short, I got algae which ended up turning to root rot. I spotted it very swiftly and did a res change adding beneficial bacteria to the system along with the base products of remo nutrients. A few days later new growth and recovery is taking place. Day 16- Fully back on track, new roots shooting out into the water and the growth rate has picked up as it should. Foliar feeding twice a day for a little boost until the root system establishes a bit more. Huge changes in just a day. Can't wait to see what a week's growth looks like. Really loving the sunset/sunrise feature on the trolmaster, something I got to experience watching recently! Watching by closely to make sure everything stays in track. Stay tuned for the next one 😉

First sign of preflowers, it's been 7 days since the flip. I'm just winging it like I do with everyday life 🤣😆 They both seem happy enough, if anything the watermelon looks like a could pull back on the nitrogen a little but we'll see. (Update... 14 days since flip) The cheese was a male, absolutely gutted. I thought I was seeing things when I saw male sac, none where open so got it in time but how can it just be a straight up male when they're supposed to be feminised seeds? Crazy bad luck or what? If anyone wants to chuck their two cents in I'll happily take the knowledge. The seed was Cheese from Barneys, I've never had this problem with them before but it knocks my confidence with them a bit. On the other hand the Watermelon Zkittlez is coming along nicely, next week's update will be updated on Monday. Peace ✌️

Last week of flowering and will be cut !!! Very well formed by dense heads along the branches. I just cut one top of the plant and it gave very good results! I smell the fruit! I have made some flush due to nutrients that i gave during flowering...💪
