Good day to all my friends and visitors here on GD. Decided to finally finish this diary so that on New Year eve I'm not opening the year with unfinished business. Now we cut the second Tropicanna XL auto plant, the first cut you can find in week 17. The plant from week 17 weighted 2.6 kilo wet, this one finished at 2.1kg. wet. The girls where autoflower but thanks to me starting this grow in cold day temps (14 degree Celsius) the started flower really late and grew and grew :) I enjoyed growing this strain immensely, smells so sweet and fruity, she has the most intense and most delicious aroma ever She brunches off like crazy, gave me a ton of big and dense bud. Changed my light cycle to 20/4, need to add a heater for when the lights are off as I've noticed the temperature drops really quickly and moving my intake tubing into a warm room wasn't cutting it. I defoliated some leafs that were obstructing light which seems to help as they have certainly bushed out.. Starting to each get there own distinct smells and looks. I've started to add 2 tea spoons of epsom salt and green tea to my feed which the plants seem to like, time will only tell I suppose and this is a learning journey for me so why not try different organic methods 💚 Really excited to see how these turn out and smoke something I know exactly what's been put into it 😍

Week 5 defoliated a little but not much , there getting sticky and the smell is getting really strong now with a smell of oranges and pungent weed , you can see the trichomes forming all over the plants , they look similar at this point to super lemon haze and are stretching like it too.

The FastBuds Tropicana Cookies are all doing great! Two plants, the #1 & #3, are expressing a beautiful dark purple coloration in their flowers, while the #2's flowers are the normal green with snow white pistils and already have a good amount of trichomes formed. I'm continuing to feed them 6 times a day for 15min. each feed, and have adjusted the nutrient level down to 800ppms. The 650R is now 26" above canopy, set to 100% output. 11/14- I'm continuing with daily monitoring of the AirCube reservoir, checking/adjusting ph and topping off with straight water. The solution strength in the reservoir is still hitting 650ppm but is starting to get discolored so I'll be doing a drain/refill in the next 48hrs before it gets funky. 11/17- Today I drained the reservoir and refilled it with straight well water that has a .3 EC(100ppm) to which I added Plagron's Cocos 'A' and 'B' in equal amounts, Green Sensation, and Royal Rush at 1ml/L and 2ml/L respectively. I also added the last dose of silica, then ph'd the solution to 5.7 @ 69℉. I also went through all three plants, adjusting their LST and tucking a few leaves that were blocking light. 11/18- There goes Week 3 of flower and I can't wait for the upcoming weeks where these ladies will really be strutting their stuff! 💚 Thank you for checking out my passion in life! These girls are progressing absolutely beautifully. I'm excited to see as it looks like there might be a purple pheno as I've never had that one grow before. No issues and the flowers are getting bigger daily. I did a defoliation and lollipopped up to maybe the 2nd-3rd node. All in all Happy Growing.

The ladies are opening up nicely after 48hs of planted (2 days) as normal, the pheno #1 has opened first let's see how they keep developing!

Week after week, through careful nutrition, TrolMaster monitoring, and endless observation, we watched them evolve. From the early stages of vegetative vigor, through the lush canopy of mid-flower, and even through the challenges of heat and bud rot, these girls showed true resilience. Each setback taught something — about balance, airflow, humility, and the living rhythm of nature. Both plants were ultimately harvested with respect and gratitude. ⸻ ✂️ Harvest & Trimming After about two weeks of slow drying at 60°F / 60% RH, the branches began to snap — a sure sign the moisture was just right. Each plant was trimmed by hand, carefully and patiently, letting every calyx, pistil, and trichome tell its own story. The buds were dense, sticky, and heavily frosted — a trimmer’s delight. Finger hash collected along the way was pure gold, rich in aroma and bursting with terpenes. Each snip of the scissors felt like sculpting something sacred. Both plants were dried whole, allowing for slower moisture migration and a smoother final cure. ⸻ 🌿 On Trichomes and Harvest Timing We chose to harvest when most trichomes were cloudy, with only a few still clear and very few amber. This moment — just before full amber maturity — is where potency meets flavor at its peak. Why cloudy trichomes? Because that’s when cannabinoids like THC and terpenes are at their maximum activity. Too early, and you lose potency; too late, and THC starts converting into CBN, giving a heavier, sleepier effect. Cloudy trichomes deliver a balanced high — euphoric yet grounding — capturing the essence of the strain in its full potential. ⸻ 🌸 Aroma, Taste & Effects The Lava Cake lives up to her name and lineage.
