Because sometimes the plant tells you one thing… and the jars tell you another. This wasn’t a full-room harvest. This was a selective cut — one plant, chosen carefully, taken early enough to keep the room moving and late enough to still deliver exactly what medicine is supposed to deliver. And honestly? She earned it. ⸻ 🌱 Why This One Came Down Early The room is still running. The full harvest is still ahead. But one Lemon Cherry Gelato had clearly moved ahead of the pack. Not by weeks. Not dramatically. Just enough. Enough swell. Enough frost. Enough weight. Enough maturity to justify taking one while letting the others continue. That’s one of the advantages of reading plants individually instead of treating a room like a synchronized machine. Not every plant finishes on the same day. Not every expression peaks at the same pace. And not every harvest has to happen all at once. This one came down because she was the most advanced of the room — and because the medicine shelf was starting to look a little too honest. Simple as that. ⸻ Reading Ripeness Properly This is where harvest decisions stop being about calendars and start being about observation. By week count alone, she was close. By structure, she was ready enough. By resin, she was already speaking clearly. The trichomes had begun shifting. Mostly cloudy. A few still clear. A visible touch of amber beginning to appear in select heads. That’s the window. Not “fully amber.” Not “wait until everything turns orange.” Not “harvest because the breeder timeline said so.” The real harvest window begins when clarity fades, cloudiness dominates, and the first signs of amber begin to appear. That’s where she was. Not overripe. Not unfinished. Just entering the first edge of peak maturity. Exactly where many growers prefer to cut for a more balanced effect. ⸻ 🔬 Trichomes: What They Are — And What They Are Not Trichomes are not “frost.” They are not glitter. They are not just visual appeal. And they are not there to make photos look good. Trichomes are resin glands. They are the biochemical factories of the flower — producing and storing cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, and the compounds responsible for aroma, potency, and effect. What we’re watching is not sparkle. We’re watching chemistry mature. Clear heads = still developing. Cloudy heads = peak cannabinoid production. Amber heads = oxidation and degradation beginning. That does not mean amber is bad. It means chemistry is changing. More clear = less mature. More cloudy = fuller, louder, more complete. More amber = heavier, softer, often more narcotic. Orange hairs alone do not mean harvest. And white hairs alone do not mean immaturity. Pistils can oxidize from age. From touch. From environment. From simple exposure. So yes — orange hairs were there. Yes — the flower had begun to visually mature. But pistils confirmed the direction. Trichomes made the decision. Color supports. This was one of those plants you feel immediately when the scissors hit the stem. Tough wood. Strong vascular structure. Real weight in the hands. Rather than dry her whole, she was broken down branch by branch and flower by flower, then transferred into the drying rack. That choice was simple and practical. A full-plant hang is beautiful. But a controlled rack dry gives better space efficiency, faster organization, and easier handling when the goal is immediate personal medicine. So this one was processed clean, sectioned carefully, and laid to dry in the rack inside the drying tent with steady air exchange and indirect circulation. No air blowing directly on flowers. No aggressive drying. No rushing the final stage. Just controlled moisture loss, clean airflow, and patience. Now she dries. ⸻ 🍋 Lemon Cherry Gelato, Week 12 from Seed And she delivered. The buds start to fatten up now

Some are swelling , one is smelling very different to the others . I seem to have 6 phenos from small to tall and rounded buds to thin spear shaped buds. I'm not sure which is my favourite yet but one has a very unique smell almost like pineapple and exodus cheese , it could be that one but I also like the bud formation on another,, we will see

Transplant is very close, in a few days she'll be resting in a 10 gal fabric pot ! Unfortunately, a glitch in the page erased all the comments I have been recording here during the past days :( This is Day 44 (24/10/2019) and she looks well recovered from the very many toppings yesterday. Day 45 (25/10/2019) I inserted the plant's small plastic pot into the coco/perlite mix of the big pot to create a niche that fits perfectly for the rootball when I remove the plastic pot tomorrow; spraying the niche with fertilizer solution and root excelurator may help. I hope she'll never realise she has been transplanted. The run off EC from the big pot is 1000 uS/cm and pH about 5.8. I had to perform some operations using tape because the stem near the tip snapped and below the crack, I saw lacerations caused by the twist tie, those need to be fixed right now. Day 46 She's transplanted and the scrog net set up. I'd say that now the journey begins. Day 47 I fertigated by 5.30 am because I had to spend all day working and on Day 48 back to normal, morning fertigation and a little supercropping. The plant has recovered fully from transplant (if she has been ever stressed during the procedure). From now on I'll be fertigating once a day with a liter and a half fertig solution to get a 20-30% run-off. Also, I fertigate other vegging and blooming plants with the effluents I collect.

Starting a new grow Shout out and an a HUGE Thank you to HowWeedGrow and Selfie Seeds for sending me these seeds and making this possible. I'll try my best to make it a good grow. I dropped 2 of the 3 seeds I got in a glass of 6.4ph balanced purified water for 15hours and transferred to paper towel. Full reversal was documented in this journal. The receiver(mother) was grown in soil using the HWGrow Soil Feed Schedule and the donor(father) was fed the HWGrow Hydro Feed Schedule. Actual data collected from the grows contributed to the final numbers in our feed schedules. The complete harvest on the seeds were documented on my journal on discord which could guide you if you grow this cross. Goal of the Cross: The photo with the buds shows what the final buds harvested from both parents look like after drying and curing(Sweet Slurry on left, Sugar Cane on right). This cross will produce a combination of both of the parents. Sweet Slurry is actually a backcross of Slurricane and Sugar Cane so this would be a 2nd generation Backcross which has the potential to improve frost. It's a crap shoot, but you could get lucky and it could happen. This will ultimately stabilize this cross into a strain and you really cant go wrong with frosty x frosty. This cross is the reverse of SHUGA.

Harvest day has finally arrived for my Frostbanger Auto, and I’m very happy with how this run turned out. She finished at 69 days from seed and impressed me from start to finish. Throughout flowering she developed a strong, sweet aroma that became richer and more noticeable every week. By harvest time, opening the tent released an amazing smell that filled the entire room. The buds developed beautifully, with excellent frost coverage and plenty of sparkling trichomes covering the flowers and sugar leaves. Visually, she became one of the prettiest plants I’ve grown, showing great structure and dense, resin-coated buds. Final wet weight came in at 230g, which I’m very pleased with. The plant stayed healthy, responded well throughout the grow, and rewarded me with a solid harvest and outstanding bag appeal. Overall, Frostbanger Auto was a pleasure to grow. Great aroma, heavy trichome production, beautiful buds, and a satisfying yield. Now it's time for drying and curing, and I can't wait to see how the final quality develops over the next few weeks. 7/1 Chopped these babies down. Now they’ll be hung in the dark (full plant) at about 60/60 until they’re ready to go in jar. Hopefully about ten days, but these are small so idk if they’ll go that long. Will update when we get there Tried to update smoke report but it just keeps erroring out. I’ll try it again another time. :/ Meanwhile, I’ll leave some info here. This hasn’t even cured yet and wow. Wasn’t thrilled with what I could see the yield would be.. still not thrilled, but damn. The shits good. Perfect density, smell, and taste. It’s loud af and definitely potent. It’s pungent with a hint of sweet but not too much. Would absolutely grow again, but would grow more plants since the yields not there .. at least for me. 5.2 ounces - 2 plants. Buds no trim ;(

Off to the races after the first week of veg. And the girls are looking good. They had about 24-48 hours of transplant shock but have since turned over and look perky. They never fully transitioned and all of em look like they’re turning back around. Definitely starting to see some pheno variation on one of the indicas (F6) - trademark from the Skywalker 100%. A light bluish/purpleish hue on the fan leaves. We’ll see what happens over the next week then probably just pick a day and flip. We don’t need em huge - just big enough to show off dem buds. On the hardware side of this grow, the mods to the dutchy system look to be working well. It just makes plant management easier with a full trough drain as opposed to individual drainage holes. Really, the system isn’t a concern for the most part. It’s proven time and time again how manageable a recirc system can truly be. Scaling down to smaller pots and more plants has also been a revelation of sorts around here. We used to grow monsters and now the aim is strictly proportional yields across a wider array of genetics. Been a great trip so far🤟. Couple more boring weeks of veg. And as soon as the breeding tent is cleaned up and pollen free - it’s go for blast-off👍. Background This cycle of clones represents all the potential of this F1 line of WalkerBerry OG. Bred by myself over the last couple of years. This genetic shows excellent hybrid vigour, incredibly stable nutrition requirements to date and an eclectic mix of long and short internodal spacing bu specimen. We know we have indica and sativa dominant traits spread evenly across the 6 available clones. Now it’s just a matter of seeing them run out under controlled and pollen free conditions. We’ve labelled each plant and it’s resulting seed accordingly. Once we get to the F2 run, we’ll hopefully be able to isolate down to 2-3 phenos if the bud is any good. From there, who knows. It’d be great to get to a finished, stable generation that would be fem worthy but that could be a very long way off. For now - we’ll focus on this line and see where it goes🤞🤞.

Well we are on to week 7, and what a start. I have nicknamed the first one Hulk. It will not stop growing. I defoliate at the end of every week now. I looks like a giant pile of fan leaves when I'm done, but the plants still look full and lush. I was hoping to see some actual flowers by now but nothing as of yet. Maybe by the end of this week they will start to poke out. I did not anticipate such a stretch. This is my first time using this system and it seems to be working rather while. I am trying to go without changing the water now. I want to keep them at this ec for a few weeks so I have been topping up with nutrient water and so far they seem to like it. As long as they stay green and the water stays clear I will continue like this. They are drinking about 2 gallons a day now and eating just as fast. Growing is a true art and I find myself really starting to enjoy the training. I want to make it bigger and better. Already making plans for the next grow. Well I posted up some cool videos and pictures, at least I thought they were, so let me know what you all think. Everyone is so quiet here. Well I will update later on. Keep it growing ya'll.

*********HARVESTING MARCH 14, 2018*************** (my first harvest!) Mar. 11, 2018 FINALLY!!!! 4/5 plants are showing me nearly mature (for our purposes anyway) buds. Most of the top colas are turning a light golden and the sugar leaves are crisping up nicely, starting to see amber on the calyx's.Have watered with plain R/O water ph 7.0 with nothing added for the last 2 weeks. I'm pretty sure I will do a complete harvest and not try to stagger it, I'd like for the bottom buds to get a chance to fully mature but for this round I want to just do a single harvest and keep the immature buds separate. It's been pretty dry here but I think a 5 day dry will be possible, after all the point is to bring the moisture content down enough to seal em up and cure properly. ... Mar. 9, 2018: Nothing new to report. Lost a couple very small buds due to falling over and breaking their stems. No way i'm going to tie up the dozens of golf ball sized buds in danger of falling, i'll just continue to tuck them back in and hope for the best. The frostiest plant seems like it will need at least a week or two longer than the rest, only just showing signs of amber on the fan leaves, and sugar leaves aren't crunching yet. One girl is very near ready, as soon as I see 10-15% amber on the calyx's and the buds have a golden hue with discolored and crispy sugar leaves then it's chop chop. Measured my runoff at 450ppm still Mar. 6-7, 2018: We are at the end of week 7 of flower. Going to be feeding water only for the duration of the grow. I'm hoping to see the buds start to enter the last stage and give me that golden hue I'm looking for. Getting more amber trichomes on the fan leaves and should see the golden hue migrate to the calyx's. ... Mar. 5, 2018: Starting day 92 from seed and 46 days since first pistils. None of the buds are shooting out new pistils so hopefully over the next 2 weeks the calyx's will swell and the trichomes will mature and the bud will take on that finished look. I'm already starting to see a few ambers, but with the crop being seeded it wont' be easy to track the calyx development as some are filled with seeds and already appear swelled.

Just made a total flush. The new res with flora kleen will run until 05/06 @00:10 The today res is 04/06 EC: 0,47 PH: 6,4 05/06 Flush made, now I've a totally new res with a lower EC and stable PH. After the flush the new leaves seems going better. EC: 1,3 PH: 6 06/06 Great new: she starts smelling very good :D EC: 1,18 PH: 5,6 07/06 EC: 1,17 PH: 6,04 08/06 EC: 1,37 PH: 5,8 09/06 EC: 1,37 PH: 5,72 09/06 EC: 1,33 PH: 6,15 10/06 BAD THINGH HAPPENED. I realized that the PH meter was broken and the PH res were very much lower than what I guessed!! The roots was immerged from many days in a really acid solution. So I completely changed the res and eliminated all the rotten branches (that was many). I hope my girl will survive to this bad stress. Finger crossed!

Oct 17: close to ready but we’re running out of nice weather in two days. It’s been an absolutely great run of cannabis weather since July but first snow is forecast for 7 days from now, and then it’s below zero all day and there’s no hope at that point. Oct 23: weather has still been good enough to keep going but I’ll take her down tomorrow. She’s the last plant in the grow area and potentially the biggest overall but I don’t think she’ll win that contest. Oct 24: took it all 2,800 g wet. In keeping with Canadian outdoor tradition, there was a bit of snow falling as the plant was being chopped. She would have better buds with stronger sunlight but it’s all for hash and I’m happy with the total weight (of course).

Week 9 of veg (13/01-20/01) There is not much happened at the beginning of the week, but as we progressed, ideas popped up. As I have already seen the importance of the enzymes in your diaries fellow-growers , I also took it into the irrigation scheme.(1ml/l) Together with some freeze-dried culture of microorganisms. These bacteria transform organic waste into re-uptakeable nutrients for the plants and it stimulates growth.🌱 End of the week i did a last big defo and was pruning almost all of the lower branches and leaves. I have a plan to flip slowly to bloom during this week(i know i told the same last week but it didn’t work). Watered twice a week with de-chlorinated water 1,7l/plant on full feeding schedule. Light intensity is 65% at the moment. I can’t wait to see the Sisters bloom.🌞🗽

Day 49 - Still giving the ladies just PH water with no nutrients trying to see if I can fix whatever is wrong with them😅 All in all the White Widow & Orange Sherbet plants I took individual pictures of are growing great & should have a pretty nice yield!
