Day 22 - Rolling into week 4 looking mean and green! 💪 I need to make a decision on what kind of training I want to dish out to this lady. She's growing a bit faster than her tent mates. Day 23 - Always experimenting - today I begin my first mainline! I've already built the foundation by allowing the plant to grow to 6 nodes, as recommended by the tutorial I followed by the brilliant Miss Nebula Haze @growweedeasy. My next step is documented here in a video, as I take my lush, happy, healthy plant, and give her the kind of haircut that makes you want to storm out of the salon without leaving a tip. 😂 I even managed to get in my signature branch snap early in the game - being held together now with duct tape. 🤦‍♀️ In all seriousness though, I'm thrilled to be trying this out, despite the agony of cutting down my plant to nothing but a stump and antennae. I've seen some great growers create some serious masterpieces using this method, and damn it my curiosity is taking control! Here's to learning something new! Day 27 - Came home from vacation to find that my plant had hulked through the duct tape that held her snapped branch together... I guess she's doing well. ☺️ Over the course of the past few days her branches have gotten notably thicker! 💪 Day 28 - Now that each new main stem has grown out, I removed all the growth tips from below the 3rd node on each side. I left the fan leaves in tact to give plant access to extra energy as she pushes through this intense training. I softened the branches with my fingers, very slowly, to tie down my new main stems horizontally across the net basket. I took a sterilized x-acto knife to then top each of my two main stems at the 3rd node on each side, leaving me with a beautifully symmetrical base to my masterpiece.

Things are moving along great outside in the natural sun.These 3 girls are starting to flip and are very strong plants.I haven’t giving much nutrients but will soon top dress.

My ladys indoor are fine, good buds, good smell, the plant outdoor going well, gonna let her more time I think. End of Week 9 of Flower. I can just taste those buds now! The smell is intoxicating and the view is picturesque. There is definitely a noticeable difference between the two pheno's but I suspect both will pack a good punch. There has been some purpling in some of the top leaves which I expect will increase with the drop in temperature the last week or so. I cant wait to get some good pictures at the end of the week as Ive decided the chop day will be this coming Sunday. The clash of yellow, purple and green is always my favourite so I plan to capture as much as possible since the next update will be jam packed with pictures of the girls just before their chop and after 48 hours of darkness to get the last of that resin production from the plant. I will also take some pics of the hanging plants in the drying cupboard. The reason I am leaving my plants in darkness for 48 hours before they get chopped, is that it has been long belived that this practice will increase the last of the thrichome production and some say increases potency. There has been a recent study in the Netherlands which does confirm increased resin production for plants left in 48 hours of darkness (they also tested 24 hours darkness but found 48 was better) at the end of their flower cycle. The chop has been planned to be pretty straight forward where I will just be taking off the main fan leaves and leaves with no thrichomes as well as chopping off the larfy/popcorn buds which will go straight in the freezer for a fresh frozen bubble hash run. I dont bud wash my flower as my tent gets a regular clean each week and always gets a full deep clean when every harvest is over and besides, its only me and my friends that smoke it! The drying cupboard I use for drying is a small cupboard designed for storing and drying clothes which I have put a carbon filter and fan as well as a small desk fan to circulate the air as well as a small dehumidifier just incase there is an increase in humidity. So the basics of drying is that you want the area where you are drying to be dark and fairly cool (its recommended to be between 15 and 22 degrees C), have a humidity level between 45% and 55%. I aim for around 21 degrees C temperature and 50% humidity. The drying time can vary depending on strain but its recommended to dry the buds for 7 - 10 days and I will explain further about how to tell if your bud is done drying and is ready to be cured on the next post. Drying is very important as you can affect all your hard work if the conditions arent right and the bud ends up too dry (luckily these days there are ways to fix bud thats too dry) or you end up with mouldy ganja which isnt save to smoke. Its also believed that a good long dry in good conditions helps increase potency and also has been shown to reduce anxiety. Ginger Nut Cookies & Aussie Music Videos 13th Feb 2020 The LST seems to have been a success as the plant remains healthy and seems to be growing the way I would like it to. I'm only going to give her one more week of extra light hours with the LED, and then she can stay outside, where she can transistion into Flowering Naturally. The plant seems to have a lot of it's mothers (Fastbuds GSC) looks to it, and the stem smell when rubbed is fairly similiar too. I am still hoping for some of the Red Diesel fathers Characteristics to come thru before this girls Finished. Now for the Weekly Aussie Music Videos. What a run this was, harvested at day 70 of 12/12. Pheno #1 was the iciest from the start and hasn’t disappointed ever since. Amazing and beautifully stacked buds with and insane amount of trichomes! She looks truly amazing, very exotic bud structure too! The smells are out of this world with artificial cherry, cookies and gas terps. Can’t wait for her to be dried and cured for the final smoke test!

Another week has flown by! The girls are doing great, cruise control this week as I have just been monitoring RH and temps. Trying to keep them as low as possible, I’ve been getting as low as 74 during the day and 68 at night. I finally took a look a look at the trichomes with my jewellers loop, lots of cloudy, and a few amber around the leaves and top colas, but still lot’s of clear trichomes. I’ve ordered myself a wireless/usb digital microscope to assist with the process, and looks like it will be here just in time to determine harvest day. 😎🎄 I started by eliminating the nutrients at the beginning of the week. I typically allow for 3-4 pure water feeds before I harvest, and at the rate they have been drinking, this should be enough to get through the 7-12 days they have before harvest. I don’t flush, but rather “rinse” with normal water amounts, allowing the plant to use up the remaining nutrients in the soil. This also allows me to recover most of the soil from my grows and reuse ♻️ with other soil mix. There has been great debate and a great deal of bro science out there for many years, but the recent studies suggest there is no difference in end result when it comes to flushing or using nutrients right until the end, if a proper dry and cure is performed. I will try to flush it with Terra Aquatica FlashClean 💦💦 Training: This week I performed LST on the adult young branches by attaching them to the sides of the pot with string, like the others. I also did more defoliation this week to allow light to reach the buds 💚🌞🌞 Light: Mars Hydro TS1000 The plants are responding effectively and the light is technically very well managed - I try to have 50 cm between the light and the plants, so I move it up regularly 💡💡💡 Thanks for the likes :) See you soon 😍😍

Overall I'm very happy with this grow. There were a lot of small buds, and I realize with more skill as a grower I'll train my plants properly and defoliate the lower leaves and branches before they develop into buds. It took me about 5 hours to trim this entire plant down, and I feel a lot of that was because of all of the small buds. Hopefully the only real loss on these small buds is bag appeal. Really this is all for myself so I don't care if the buds are small... this round 😜 The smell in my apartment while harvesting was so nice. It smelled like super sweet citrus weed... beautiful. I didn't get as much fade as I expected leading up to harvest. I've been too timid with watering and was afraid to give this plant a good flush. Hopefully since she was fully organic it should still taste fine. I won't be growing a single plant in a 10 gallon bucket for a while, I feel this was just too big for an inexperienced grower. It made watering this thing difficult. I'll post more updates once this fully dries and cures for a while. Thanks for following my grow if you have.
