7/24/23 - Day 42 - Ok, so where to start? I'm going to go over the last couple days of issues/troubleshooting. We had an issue with the lights not coming on for a whole day/night cycle. That was a couple of days ago, and everything seems okay since then. I had some Canoeing/tacoing on the leaves once the lights were back on. I think I had the PH too low, 5.8. In flower, I should start moving it up the scale. Once I corrected the PH to 6.2, the canoeing/tacoing in the leaves seemed to be gone/almost gone. I'm REALLY worried about the height of the plant. She is only 12 in. from the light that I cannot move. I added a second scrogg net???? I don't know if that's done a lot, but I'm going to try and stop if from growing straight up. I think the best I can do is give it a lean. So Ill call this the ScoggGL (GangstaLean). You'll see some pictures up top as I start the ScoggGL I did the first big trim and pulled a 3-gallon bucket of fan leaves out. I cut off a few side branches I didn't want the plant to waste energy on. I trimmed so many leaves off it was crazy. The smells have been awesome! You all know the smell of the fresh plant stems and leaves as you trim and rub across them. It's one of my favorite smells, which is in full effect. I noticed that I have some pistils growing. I know what that means, shes going to have some flowers here in the next week. I couldn't be more excited!!!!! The roots are just downright ruthless; they have been growing out of control. I have a great picture of them in there with no water. I should note that I did two things that might have solved the Tacoing in the leaves. It could have been one or the other, but it also could be a combo of both things. I did the trimming to get some airflow between the leaves and changed the target for my PH from 5.8 to 6.2. When moving into flowering, I should have already done that. But I did both things while the leaves were Tacoing, and now they are not. I wanted to make sure I noted that. 7/26/23 - Day 44 - Things are looking great. No more tacoing, she's growing and still drinking about 2+ gallons a day of water. I hope the vertical growth stops soon, I want to remove a ton more fan leaves, and I'm hoping that it spends more time growing around than up, I'm keeping some leaves on just to slow some vertical growth. 7/27/23 - Day 45 - She's sleeping right now, but I will chop some more fan leaves when she wakes up. She's growing too tall, and I need to find a way to stop her. I think shocking her system will help stunt her growth. How crazy is this, what a conundrum I'm in. Normally I stress out trying to find the right time to trim to avoid stunting growth. I always keep my plants busy and do one or two chops. I think they need to grow as mother nature intended. Let them grow and do one, maybe two fan leave chops. That's always been my motto and its always worked out great for me. This is now the exact opposite. Feels weird even thinking about it, doing a leave chop two weeks into flower..... ARE YOU INSANE!!!!!! Lol The 2nd chop has happened. I took a ton of fan leaves off. It's time for the plant to slow down heal and start working on the buds! Let's see how this goes over the next couple of days. I added a timelapse of me chopping her up. 7/28/23 - Day 46 - After adding more water last night, I was checking PH, and I did a quick check on the ppm from the nutes. If it went from 600ppm down to 130ppm in a couple of days. So we decided to give her another dose of nutes so she has something to eat. I'll update you after she wakes up for the day. Gave them their monthly feeding a few days into first week of flower with Gaia Green organic dry amendment slow release fertilizer. It really has allowed me to focus solely on watering technique and grow environment without worrying about over/ under fertilization. Plants and I love the product! Posting an update tomorrow of end of week 1 flower pre-flower. Cheers 🍻

week 8 they are starting to smell i let them go without water for a week and they were putting off the terps. did some light defoliate and gave them a 3/4 serving of water, I will check in 2 days and water a full drink for them. colas are getting heavy for the stems lots of drooping using the Scrogg net to help them stay upright. looking at 4 more weeks till harvest.

Week 8 (4/11/22 - 4/17/22) Took 9 cuttings, dipped in Clonex and plugged into presoaked rockwool cubes. Once rooted, the plan is to take 6 cuttings into the flower tent.

Did my last topping on a few branches that were left took most of the big fan leaves off to open them up more i forgot to do a week lol.

Losing headroom

Watered after 7 days, was looking a bit limp so may add a small water mid week. LST on main stem to expose other bud sites to light. Increase nutes to 340PPM, will be last vege nutes as moving onto flowering nutes next week. Smell is nice, like a slight warm cheddar smell. Light switched onto bloom mode. This one looks to have a more sativa structure, leaning more to it White Widow genetics, have another of the same strain and presents more of the indica, short, stocky, bushy and smell like blueberries. Even has the slight manure smell of when you first sniff an actual blueberry.

Cali crasher has been growing strong. It looks like she wants more calcium. So I gave her a booster in solution. I will see if it continues now after it has been trained good for the week. She is growing great under the Hortibloom Solux 350. This grow is looking like a 9 wks flower and the 3 gallon pots are starting to look like a mistake for the bigger pheno, one I took cuttings from for her vigour and bud structure, elongated buds that stretch and will no doubt pack on some weight later. Some fan leaves are showing signs of nutrients depletion already, gave her 1 tbsp of 2-8-4 mixed in with some molasses and calmag. I don’t intend to supplement any further as there should only be approx 3 wks left. Safe to say I have preserve genetic identity 😂

Plant is growing fast now. The hot days are back, but we are still going strong.

July 31: Another week of warm sunny weather coupled with thunderstorms bringing a decent amount of rain. Flowers are stacking and resin coming on thick developing complex odor. Harvest coming in a couple of weeks.

D50/FD22 - Right, water change day (Evening). Right and proper f**ked off with the light doing me over (See D49/FD21 Comment for that epic story!!!). Where stretch had stopped (I thought), plants are back in the lights AGAIN!!! Blaming the light giving a near 24hour session and some other broken sessions of light over the last 48 hours!!! So had to pull out the extraction as getting LED burn on leaves that are touching! Blowing through the Carbon Filter and can't really smell anything so that's not bad. Everything a wee bit noisier with the fan not being muffled in the tent but need the space and got around a foot. Not prefiltering the fan as I have the new Cloudline to go in for next grow. Hopefully they grow no more and its all thickening buds from here so as I have space for the UVB in there in a week or 2! Slight change in feed. Dropped the roots booster as Wilma can't take any more...its full!!! Dunno how I am still getting 50L of water in there!!! Added PK9/18 (At half strength). Should probs drop the calmag (Or Kind Base down a bit) to drop nitrogen but am still seeing some copper spots here and there that looks like wee calcium deficiencies (Not much, but its there) - I do have some BioBizz CalMag (Which is Nitrogen Free) but it leaves the tank stinking with precipitate and dirties the roots. Think this is the 1st grow I have had where all the stems staying green so plants generally healthy. Cherry Pie still not budding up as quickly or as thickly as the Red hot Cookies but looks like its maybe running only a couple of days behind in growth so no biggie. Few weeks left for it to catch up and surprise me at the end! 😁 Now just to make sure I see no signs of re-veg...as per the D49/FD21 comment, I'll be scowling at GeekLight this week. Digital Timer in there now to ensure no bleed through - power gets hard cut like old times. Unfortunately though, when the light comes on via power-on (and not app timer mode), UV & IR comes on too so have a timer set to stop it after 1 min (Its about all the app being used for now!!! Apart from turning on my IV at midnight for 4 hours - which is, I have just seen, still working). Think that's all the s**te I have to talk for now! Happy Growing all!!! 💪

Stressing them out let’s see what they got

A lot of rain and wind, continuously. Temps have dropped as well. I’m reading another week or two to chop this plants. Sativa dominant hybrids did the best, the Fastberry and the banana purple punch did not really develop as the other two. In specifics the cbd crack developed sizable buds, and the blue dream as well, the flowers are not as developed tight and dense as in the indoor grow. A bit of fox-tailing nothing too expressive. Minimal work, as per the setup chosen, an no extra nutes this week.
