Double Smile #1 was harvested on the 23/09/2022, her trichomes were 10% amber and the rest were milky. She had faded out a deep dark red/purple and was coated in a layer of thick frost. She’s currently drying out at 58%RH - 17*C. Chopped off the main fan leaves, but left everything else on for hopefully a slower dry. Double Smile #2 is still maturing, il keep my eye on her, she could potentially have a few weeks left. Happy with how everything looks, until next time 🌱💚

Week 6 of to a good start! They look happy and healthy. Time to flip to flower soon! 👽👉3/10 Climate is automated and working accordingly to my adjusted VPD settings. Happy and healthy, actually surprised they've grown so much lately. 👽👉4/10 Waiting for their complete recovery, so they can be flipped to flower (Defoliation the 30/9, im giving them about a week) 👽👉5/10 Water day* Plain ph balanced water. Need Runoff PH and EC down a little bit. 👽👉6/10 I applied the SCROG net. 👽👉7/10 Doing some minor tweaks to the setup + VPD settings(from 1.0 to 1.1). Approaching the flip to flower, so VPD Did a bit of defoliation before the flip next week 👽👉8/10 Today, i learned from research on biobizz nutrients https://www.thcfarmer.com/threads/biobizz-nutrients-answers-from-biobizz.78899/ (Direct answer from biobizz) With the answers, my view on feeding biobizz changed a bit, and i was luckily about to switch up the nutes. They look fantastic and well recovered at lights on! (Look at the before/after lights vids/pics) Raised VPD by 0.1: VPD settings(from 1.1 to 1.2)

Day 70-77 (Day 71) Not exactly sure why but node spacing on bbb 6&7 is super tight still. Their stems are also harder and less bendy, almost like they’re root bound. Bbb #5 in my veg tent is looking bizarre and I’m at a loss for what to do. I’ve been looking up and asking around about the leaf crinkle and no one seems to know what’s wrong. Trashing a pheno of this would hurt. It could be a keeper too as I don’t think the problem is genetic. It’s definitely root bound but that doesn’t cause contorted new growth like that. I’ve concluded that it’s my dense soil coupled with root bound issues, overwatering and high RH. (Day 72) Later tonight I’m going to give bbb 5 a bath tub flush until it’s reading 200ppms, drain it well and then transplant into a 3g pot with lightly amended soil. I’m also going to give it a light defoliation. I don’t mind stressing the shit out of this plant right now because I won’t be flipping for another week at least. With the small container it will run out of amended nutes mid flower so I will hit it with a few synthetic feedings around then to test out the smokabilty and taste compared to organic nutrients. I might as well give the rest a good defoliation on the rest of the plants too. I will try to get most of what is under the trellis. (Day 73) I definitely defoliated #7 waaay too much. Since it’s tucked away in the corner and a really bushy plant I can’t train it as well as the others. I cut most of the sucker branches and the majority of the lower fans. This should prevent the need to defoliate at all until week 3 of flower. (Day 74) I’ve been reading that higher temperatures with a high RH can affect growth big time. It could be what’s causing all the crinkling and twisting. And now that the plants are in very late veg they could probably benefit from a lower RH. When I was running my temps around 74-78F and 70% RH I was in the perfect range. Now that I’m around 82-86F with the same 70% RH that could be what’s causing it. Hotter air holds more moisture than cooler air and proper vpd at 84F is around 75-80%. I’m going to turn up the speed on my carbon filter and set my controller to 75%. If I don’t see a difference or it gets worse I will drop to 65 and go from there. (Day 76) I finally got the lights raised up another 4 inches or so. It’s not much but it should help reduce the intensity and stretch the nodes more. I’m starting to think the super tight node spacing and droopy/contorted growth has more to do with something I’ve been reading about called ‘soil compaction’. Apparently farmers often deal with compacted soil in fields from running tractors over it all day. When I potted the plants I gave them a good little jiggle to compact the soil down further so I could fit a bit more in the container. I think this could be the culprit as they don’t seem to be drying out evenly. Even the plants in my other room are not drying out like they should and it’s probably from compacting too. With the addition of rock dust and dry amendments the soil can become sandy/clay like and retain a lot more moisture. Wish I would have added a few more liters of perlite and packed the soil a bit looser. Either way I need to get this problem sorted ASAP before I get root rot. Earlier in the season when I overwatered, I stuck a fish tank air pump into the soil and it aerated the soil enough to prevent overwatering. The only reason I discontinued it is because it didn’t have much effect in the 1.7g pots. I just ordered a 36w 6 way fish tank pump that is way more powerful. It was 50 bucks and I’m willing to take a gamble on it. It seems to be my only option at the moment because I can’t just repot. Worst case scenario I can use it for brewing compost teas if it doesn’t work. I’m not sure how well this will work in a giant fabric pot but it’s worth a shot. I’ve heard of people supplementing additional air into raised garden beds with great results. I’m picking off some of the new auxiliary branches to try and widen the node spacing. Growth is definitely slow and stunted but no signs of deficiencies. I just thought of another theory on the node spacing... and the more I think about it, the more I think it’s the mystery problem. I’ve been foliar spraying with 1-1-1 VeloKelp at pretty high concentrations 2-3 times per week. I have heard in passing that kelp and seaweed can somehow reduce stretch. A quick google search reveals that Ascophyllum Nodosum Seaweed and other marine algae extracts contain large amounts of hormones and auxins that reduce plant height and stretch. *facepalm* Guess I’ll stop that for the rest of the cycle. As far as I know there is nothing I can really do but wait for the plant to use up all those excess hormones and nutes. The recent 0-0-15 seaweed extract and 1-0-3 kelp meal I bought is derived from the same kind as the velokelp. I guess I won’t use it again until week 3 or 4 in flower. Tight nodes are very useful in flower but aren’t desirable at all in when trying to scrog in veg. Especially when they’re like a half inch apart. It slows the shit out of a grow. Vietnamese and biker gangs in my area used to grow SOG style and use a synthetic PGR hormone (meant for bonsai trees) called ‘paclobutrazol’ that would make the weed rock hard dense so they wouldn’t have to pay people as much to trim it. I’ve heard that in recent years they have made the switch to using kelp extracts because paclo is getting harder find and is not meant for food crops let alone smokeable crops. I’m ashamed of it but I have smoked pounds of PGR weed long before I knew what a PGR was. 🤷‍♂️ (Day 77) One more theory. Ever since raising up the plants up onto that shelf the root zone is probably significantly warmer and the bottom of the pot (where most of the roots are) drys out way quicker. It’s possible that the warmer root zone could not be holding dissolved oxygen at the proper rate resulting in that over/underwatered look. Or it could be that I’m not watering enough at once to reach the bottom of the pot where the roots are and it’s indeed under watered. I’m going to water in a gallon when I get my new air pump and see if that makes any positive change. If I see the new air pump making a difference, I will flip on the 21st of April. If I don’t see a difference, I will carefully untangle the plants from the scrog net and remove the shelf. That extra foot should make a massive difference with ppfd and will cool down the roots significantly too. I’m thinking about grabbing a simple soil/compost thermometer to check the temp of the medium. Better safe than sorry. Rough week. Hopefully everything get smoothed out in the next little while before I flip.

Day 50 - Starting week 8 and things look like she’ll be ready for a chop in two weeks. Giving her straight water from here on out to get all the leftover nutes out of the soil. Day 51 - Thinking this girl is probably down to the last 7-10 days looking at the trichs but if she keeps popping out white pistils, I’ll let her go till that stops. Gave her a heavy feeding of straight water today. Day 52 - Did a bit of defoliating today since she’s getting close to harvest. Want to maximize the light to try and get as much out of her as I can. She’s definitely not a big plant so anything I can do to fatten her up. Day 53 - Looking great, nothing too much to report. Just pulled her out for some daily pics and to check the trichs. They’re mostly cloudy still with some amber in there but she’s still pumping out some white pistils so until that stops, I’m gonna let her go. Day 54 - She’s coming along nicely and looking at her, she might be ready for a chop this weekend. Don’t really see anymore white pistils, they’re all orangish/red and starting to shrivel up. Still gonna let her go until I get what I want out of the trichomes but looking like this weekend but I’ll be checking her trichs daily!! Day 55 - Not sure what I want to do. Looking at her and the trichs, she’s probably ready to chop any day. If I do, I will chop this weekend but just not sure cause it will only be around 60 days from seed and FastBuds says 8-9 weeks so that’s right on par with they’re schedule. I’ll check her out Saturday and see what the trichs look like and if I think she’s ready, she’ll get the chop. Most likely will give her a nice flush with water and foxfarm’s Sledgehammer tomorrow. Day 56 - It’s the end of week 8 and since she’s just about finished, I went ahead and flushed her with 2 gallons of 6.4 pH’d water and 20ML of foxfarm’s sledgehammer so we’ll see how she’s doing this weekend and will most likely chop on Saturday.

I was selected to test some of Fastbuds new genetics. Seeds germinated in 48hrs and 6 days later it broke ground and hasent slowed down. This grow is in my 4x4ft grow space located in an uninsulated shed. Each plant has a dedicated 150-200w LED from Viparspectra or Mars. Winter Temps in my area spike to -15C or more in Jan and Feb, so this will be an interesting and challenging grow. The grow room is 20-30C above ambient temperature, so there is a little manual and auto manipulation of grow Temps. Was away again this week but the plants have been fine. I watered them when I left and 5 days later the soil was dry and they needed a water so i fed them 1 litre each yesterday. Today I’ve tried to tie some more branches down to the scrog net to allow more light to all the buds. I have ordered a new thermostat with a day and night temperature so soon will be able to do lower night temps

Monster maker photoperiod feminised is now on its 4th week since pout the seed in the root riot cube I trimmed the first set of true leaves to promote more lateral growth 3rd nodes leafs are getting bigger and can clearlly see the 4th node developing

This has been another great week ! We are at day 36 end of week 4 and these ladies are getting nice and bushy! Still using the same dose nutrients just a little less rapid start at 1/2tsp per gal now PH at 6.5 still. The plants have now grown into 600 par an should start flowering this week!! This week was full of new growth! I switched the ladies to their bloom nutrients for the first time and they seem to love them. The budlets are getting bigger every day and the ladies are looking beautiful! I hope everyone has a Happy New Year! Be Safe and stay green! 🤙🏾

7/27/2023- Prep Tent and system are cleaned and ready to go from my last grow. I have submitted my Journa for the Diary of the Month Competition here is to hopeing for good resutls. 7/28/2023- Germination Day 0- Seed initiation Well lets get this new Grow started.. So My Dad Sent me a custom Strain that he wanted me to grow out and Breed for him. The Strain is Called Red Rhino: Red Rhino is an amazing strain coming from Israel and boasts a 60% Sativa and a 40% Indica. This strian comes from crossing double gum and master kush. Effects are an increased appetite, as well as giving you ephoric feelings throughout the whole day. RO Water Used Added Hydrogen Peroxided 8/1/2023- Germination Achieved G-Day 1 Popped her head above the root riot today to say hello.. Woot first challenge when dealing with an unknown seed and a new Strain is getting the seed to pop and the lady to show life. 8/2/2023- Germination Day 2 Took the root riot out today and it was soaked not good plant drowing again. I am still having a hard time finding the right blance for where the water should be to keep the root riot moist and not soaked. I had to drain some of the water out of the root riot plug to help give a little oxygen. I also removed some of the water. 8/3/2023- Germination Day 3 Looking good stretching her leaves out to let in the lights 8/4/2023- Germination Day 4 Looking good a few days until I put them into the RDWC System and get this thing rocking and rolling. 8/5/2023- Germinaiton Day 5 Looking good will probably plant tomorrow if the roots are still looking good. 8/6/2023- Plant Day- Germination Day 6 Planted into the RDWC System today. Joy when they go into the system as long as we dial that in right this will now be a great grow.. Survived the hard part.. 8/7/2023- Germination Day 7 Fell over today I am worried.., she is showing some damage on the lower leaves from the over watering in the cloning machine but right now I don't see any new damage. Supported the Stems with little improvised pole to help her stand up. 8/8/2023- Germination Day 8 Added the first Nutes today, to help support root growth and to help give there first jump to growth. Hey all! this week is starting off good and stable, both plants are going good and healthy i also cut down the older plant for harvest already, she is drying now in the other grow tent so we will see how the trimming goes else we are rooting now for the younger plant which is now in a new grow tent! it moved into the tent with my Strawberry Gorilla RF3 that is also done soon! best days are coming to process these plants into juicy rosin 😇 happy growing all! 😎💚✌️

Eccoci anche qua all ultima settimana di vegetativa, la ragazza procede bene, anche se è la più piccola, sembra che stia tenendo il passo con le altre sorelle, magari è solo la genetica particolarmente piccola e cespugliosa, staremo a vedere, per ora sto andando leggero con i nutrienti, anche la c02 in pastiglie l ho somministrata solo per una settimana, perché non volevo che esplodessero troppo di vigore in vegetativa per non rischiare di avere delle bestie enormi che al conseguente aumento di c02 aumenta anche il metabolismo e devo fertilizzante il doppio per non avere carenze che mi portano in pochi giorni ad avere nevrosi delle foglie, se nn si sta attento e si utilizza la c02 senza avere gli strumenti che accompagnano questo tipo di compito, comunque basta non esagerare e controllare spesso le piante e se si nota una leggera carenza, somministrare del magnesio/potassio in più ad esempio, che è la carenza maggiore che ho notato quando somministra troppa c02 e temperature troppo elevate.. Bene siamo arrivati alla fine di questa settimana! Ringrazio Mars hydro e per l equipaggiamento professionale che mj permette di crescere le mie ragazze in piena salute!
