Hello Growmies, As we conclude the sixth week with our Epic Buzz plants in the Tent-X Ultimate Grow Showdown, we've seen substantial growth and faced some climatic challenges head-on. The plants have thrived under a regimen of defoliation, lollipopping, and scrogging, developing into robust specimens ready for the flowering stage. The extended watering intervals and the consistent application of our chosen nutrient blend, Alga Grow, Sugar Royal, Power Roots, and Orca, have supported their vigorous development, ensuring they are well-nourished and hydrated. However, managing the environmental conditions, particularly during the night, has presented some hurdles. The recent introduction of a custom-built extraction box has been our latest strategy to combat the high humidity levels we've been battling during the lights-off period. This innovative solution has shown promising results, offering a more controlled grow atmosphere by extracting humid air directly outside, preventing it from lingering in the lung area of our setup. Despite this improvement, the integration of the Mars Hydro fan with the Tent-X system remains unresolved, leading to less than ideal fluctuations in our VPD levels. The lack of support from Mars Hydro, Secret Jardin, and even TrolMaster in providing clear guidance for this integration has been a stumbling block. We're considering a shift back to the reliable Prima Clima system, known for its seamless compatibility and ease of use. In the spirit of community and shared growth, we're reaching out for any advice on connecting a 5-phased PWM motor to the TrolMaster controller. The collective wisdom of this community has always been a guiding light, and any insights would be greatly appreciated. The resilience of the Epic Buzz plants, their lush canopies, and strong structures speak volumes of their potential as we edge closer to the flowering phase. Experienced some light burn this week. Quickly figured out a solution to get my lights higher. Did not expect her to get so big but I’m Loving It! 😁 Been debating on cutting the wind burnt leaves all week. ⬇️⬇️⬇️Week Rundown⬇️⬇️⬇️ 8/9: Bumped light intensity to 75% Started new batch of nutes today. 1st week of early bloom set. No liquid KoolBloom this time 🤦‍♂️🏾 missing from starter kit! Mixed nutes as usual in full gallon jug. Transferred half of treated gallon to half gallon jug. Poured whole half gallon jug into Rez to top off rez at a little over 3rd line. 8/10: Topped of rez this morning with the rest of half gallon of nutes + some plain water out of half gallon jug. 8/11: Topped rez off back to a little over the 3rd line with the plain water from the half gallon water jug. Poured whole half gallon in. She has been drinking very heavily. 😌 thirsty jean lol. 8/12: Topped rez off tonight back to 3rd line. She is steadily drinking now. You can see roots swimming in the rez. 🙃🙃 8/13: Topped off rez this morning and midday. She is drinking heavy now. Did some maintenance on lower canopy. Got rid of dead/dying leaves. I hope she starts budding soon I’m running out of head room The canopy is pretty even right now but I’m now able to raise the lights any higher so I need her to stay put. 😂 8/14: Topped off rez this morning with the rest of half gallon nutes from last night and then some water from half gallon jug. Determined! I was able to raise the lights as high as I can for tent size. Used my 2 extra hanging clips to raise lights at least 12in above canopy. Hopefully she is done stretching as I can see bud formation slowly showing themselves. 8/15: Topped rez of this morning with water from half gallon jug. Started new batch this afternoon. Was no point to starve her til Monday for new batch so I ended up running it today. Bumped light intensity to 85%. Hopefully no roasting occurs lol

Alot of low stress training this week trying to get the canopy ready for the scrog net. Topped all 3 gg4 plants. Started adding a bit more nutrients.

Was a pretty smooth week for most the girls. Showing some steady growth. I topped all of the plants around day 12 other than the slurricane 7. Ph got a little high since the nutrient level was too low to buffer it at the beginning of the week. Slurricane 7 and sugar cane are the ones that took some damage. I think they will be ok though. I upped the nutrients to 1/4 tsp per gallon and the ph has held stable since then. Should be able to start some training the middle of next week and looks like we might be going 2 more weeks on veg before flipping them to flower depending on how this upcoming week goes. Guess you will have to show up next week to find out...

This week I did what I suspect will be the final full change of the reservoir. Buds are looking fat and dense. Perfect. I got a new microscope to try and get an idea of the trichome development. They're actually a lot less developed than I expected - with most trichomes still clear. Only a few cloudy and maybe 1 or 2 yellow scattered throughout. Couple more weeks and they should be good.

The plants are still alive but due to temperatures below 5 °C there is almost no growth. Hope weather next week will be more sunny and warmer.

Both seeds broke grown on Jan. 11, 2020. I’m really impressed on how fast they are growing in a matter of 12 hrs. Most of the photos are taken earlier in the morning.
