One Plant did foxtails but its structures were really resistant. The other plants were resinous and made a pretty good yield. The buds are very consistent with both potency and flavour

GrowDiary Verslag: The Bird × Red Wine – Feminized F1 Pheno-Hunt (Week 6 Bloei) Kweker: Xpie77 Datum: 11 januari 2026 Strain: The Bird (Sensi Seeds) × Red Wine (Seeds Genetics) – zelfgemaakte feminized F1-zaadjes Aantal planten: 16 stuks Huidige fase: Week 6 bloei Foto-update (Week 6) Hier een close-up van één van de buds in week 6 – kijk die insane trichome-laag! De hele top is bedekt met een dikke laag frost, alles glinstert onder het licht. Nog steeds voornamelijk groen, maar de pistillen worden dikker en donkerder, en er zit al een lichte paarse gloed in de calyxen bij sommige pheno’s. De echte paarse/blackout kleuren laten nog even op zich wachten, maar de resin-productie is nu al next level. De bud ziet er super gezond en harsachtig uit – precies wat je wilt zien in week 6 van een indica-dominante kruising zoals deze. Stand van zaken in Week 6 De 16 planten zijn in volle ontwikkeling en de bloei versnelt echt: Bud-ontwikkeling: Buds zwellen flink op, calyxen worden groter en dikker. De toppen beginnen compact te worden. Trichome-productie: Mega frost overal! Sugar leaves en buds zitten onder de hars – veel pheno’s lijken nu al harvest-ready qua trichomes (maar nog niet qua kleur/rijpheid). Kleur: Nog grotendeels groen, met lichte paarse hints bij een paar planten. Ik hou de nachttemperatuur laag om de anthocyaninen te boosten – verwacht meer paars in week 7-8. Aroma: Wordt steeds intenser in de tent: zoete druiven/bessen (Red Wine) met een gassy/funky punch (The Bird). Ruikt nu al als een premium strain. Gezondheid: Topconditie. Bladeren donkergroen, geen tekorten, goede stretch voorbij, alles gelijkmatig. Wat te verwachten de komende weken Nog 2-4 weken bloei (afhankelijk per pheno: 8-10 weken totaal). Buds harden verder op en trichomes gaan van helder → milky → amber (tijd om te checken met loep!). Hopelijk meer kleurverkleuring bij de Red Wine-dominante pheno’s. Beginnen met lichte flush richting het einde. Conclusie Week 6 is waar het echt spannend wordt – de frost is insane en de potentie schreeuwt eruit. Deze The Bird × Red Wine F1’s ontwikkelen zich prachtig, en met zoveel variatie in de 16 planten ga ik zeker een paar absolute killers vinden. Nog geen paars spektakel, maar de resin-laag maakt het al de moeite waard! I figured out my tent cam and was able to pull Timelapse vids going back a full year! I edited out the night time and tried to squeeze these long grows into 2min. I def need to water more often. I think I’d have had fewer crispy leaves. Otherwise, she’s a tasty plant and a super stony smoke!!

This week went fairly well, but I became concerned with some leaves appearing crispyfried along the edges and some looking deficient. I finally started cutting my girls and I have to say, I felt ashamed at wounding my babes but hopefully it'll go the right way, guess we'll see!!! I also flushed my plants with ph Balanced water this week and going to only provide this to water/feed them for another few days for fear of nutrient burn and simply following the feed schedule for my nutrients. Also, I took some pics for the Christmas contest for Crop King Seeds lol hope you like them more than my Paw did! I don't know if my runoff ph is bad or good because the plants are eating leaving acidic runoff 12/10 Plant 1 looks so Good, might be time for LST soon 12/11 Plants all showing Improvement/Growth Plant 3 still slowest but she's still growing. Under grow lights I think I see fringe yellow tips. Still on track to flush w/Plain H2o next watering. 12/12 Flushing w/ PH Balanced H2O no noots. Plant 1 has a leaf turning yellow on half so went with ph balanced water w/no nuets to flush all. 3 Growing ok but still a little off looking 12/13 Moved inlet vent to point up and clip on fan to blow on girls. Plants look great after a day of plain H2O. 12/14 Plant one having a small bit of leaf burn on widest leaves and a weird dying on lower leaf. They looked bad under light so I pruned em. Turned up humidifier to 65% been running low. 12/15 Topped Plant 2 Rinsed all w/PH Balanced H2O. Nervous I took too much from #2 But my thinking was I went easy on 1 yesterday so go aggressive on 2 to view effects. 12/16 Trimmed 2 crispy leaves off Plant 1 used Bonsai paste to cover wounds, Plant 2 stem looks narrow@ base wider up top. In the last week the water was freshly mixed with Canna Flush and an Ec of 0.4 in order to completely use up the nutrients in the last few days 👍. You can see it on the beautiful autumn yellow leaves :-). Before harvesting, the lights were turned off completely for 48 hours. After everything was neatly trimmed by hand, the buds were put into the drying tent, where they are allowed to dry for the first 8-12 days at a humidity of 62% before they ferment with 62% boveda packs in jars. After another 3-4 weeks in the glasses, the 58% boveda packs come in for the final touch :-). Of course, the final update comes from the fermented end product 👍. Well guys it's week 8.. I think lol. I'm 100% certain (Not really) that I took clones from 2 different mothers again... like a real cotton-headed ninny muggins. I'm at a loss when it comes to harvesting early what seems to be done, waiting, and how to do it all with flushing. So any help in that practical aspect would be dope. I'm really excited to be rolling out of this one, to be honest. with all the mothers big and clone ready I can finally just ease back into something more beginner level, shorter, whatever you wanna call it haha. The plants all look healthy though. I don't think I really made any big nutrient mistakes. I used LST to get those big colas away from the light and they seem to be fattening nicely making me wonder if I should just leave everything for 2 or 3 more weeks. I decided to throw a PK booster in there. I read online that most in hydro will use it throughout the flower cycle if needed and I was getting weary about the other plants not fattening up. I just keep hearing these things should yield crazy and I'm not seeing it. Then again it has been a bumpy ride. The nutrient change was done on the 14th and the photos are from today. Stay safe yall

After 48 hours of darkness, the time had come and the Papaya Cookies were ready for harvest. I decided to dry it in a drying net, because it has grown very densely due to the not so successful training (to reduce the risk of mold). Dry weight and smoke report follow after curing. Stay tuned...

7/6/2021 - Trimmed lower fan leaves as they were being blocked completely, and a few tips were yellowing. - Continuing to lightly bend the upper branches so the lowers can catch up. - Bought some Gaia Green veg + bloom dry fertilizers as I expect I'll be flipping to flower soon. 7/7/2021 - Watered in a little bit of Gaia Green's veg fertilizer. - Foliar fed w/ DIY kelp extract. - Yellowing/browing on a new leaf, can't identify what it is. - Staked down the branches on the upper mains this evening to open her up for more light penetration, she was gettin' real bushy. 7/9/2021 - Trimmed out middle to expose canopy
