Week 7 Doing some defoliation

As of this week I can see she's finally recovered after all the stress I put her through (HST, topping, LST) On August 1, watered it 1300ml, ph of the solution was 6.44, I added rhino skin 1ml and 1.3ml each- cal mag, bio root and biothrive grow. Had some run off but she sucked it all in, in less than 5 minutes I barely had time to measure the ph of the run off which was 6.72. Planning on transplanting it this week to a 5 or 7 gallon pot, she's currently in a 1 gallon pot. August 2, watered it 1L, ph 6.46. Added 1ml each- rhino skin, cal mag, bio root and biothrive grow. 6.77ph of the run off, (barely had any, she sucked it all in right away) August 3rd transplanted her to a 5 gallon pot and watered it 1500ml water ph 6.45 Added 1.5 ml each- rhino skin, cal mag, biothrive grow and bio root. No runoff. August 5th, watered it 1800ml water added 1.5ml each- rhino skin cal mag, bio root and 1.8ml biothrive grow August 6, watered it 3L water, 6.45ph Added rhino skin 3ml, cal mag 2.5ml, bio root 3ml, biothrive grow 3.5ml No run off

05/19/2020 All going well, have to grow in containers this season, I might be moving before harvest so only veggies in the ground. But all are adjusting well 😊 I will give more details on individual plants shortly #1 is10" tall new growth looks good getting thick. #2 is 11.5" tall #4 is 7" tall but healthy #5 is 16"

Hi Growmies, This grow was not about growing the biggest plant but a test on how Natural sunlight compares to artificial light. I can be clear on one thing: natural sunlight gives a better terp/trichomes development, at least within my setting. This is probably due to natural UV rays within sunlight which is harder to get in a tent. Also the cost of this grow was so cheap, that if I would sell 3 grams I would have my whole investment in this grow back. So cost wise an outside grow will always beat an inside grow, especially with the current energy rates where I live. So after the drying process we will do a quick taste test before jarring it up to cure. That will also be the time I weight my buds, wet weight is not important to me. No nutes this week I’m doing a water water feed and when I feed I’m still giving light nutes. Was having issues with the humidity but I found out about dehumidifier bags so I bought those... super beneficial!! Keeping my girls at a steady 48% Pretty proud of myself so far 😊 also applied the trellis until my new tent and light comes!! Gotta love Mars hydro

As expected with regular seeds, we had both males and females, and this was the week we identified them all. From the original 12 beans, 5 revealed themselves as proud ladies while the rest — equally stunning in structure and expression — turned out to be males. 🌿 💚 Let’s talk about regular seeds and plant sex: Regular seeds are unsexed, meaning they can become either male or female. It’s a 50/50 genetic roll of the dice — and with unique mutant genetics like these, identifying sex isn’t always easy early on. Males typically show small pollen sacs, often referred to as “bananas” in their early stage. Females develop pistils, the first hairs of the flowers we’re after. Male plants, while beautiful and structurally fascinating (especially in this mutant project), can compromise a flowering room if left unchecked. Their pollen can fertilize female plants, leading to seeded buds — great if breeding, not great for clean flower. So, we say goodbye, thank them for their beauty, and move forward with the ladies to full bloom. The males? Yet another exciting week to share. I flipped her to 12/12, and she responded with some praying leaves and a lush green color. I'm starting to see a little stretch, and I'm hoping to get at least 3-4 inches of new growth. Time will tell.

God damn I love this genetic. She's flopping over from all the weight she's producing. I'm keeping her upright though. Trying to keep the humidity down with how thick she's getting. She's still in the bulk phase and is throwing pistils and packing weight like crazy. Each day I'm having to try and tie her up in some way or another. I should've used a scrog net after the first time, I knew that she flopped over hard like this after the first time I grew her. Using the earthbox is making everything super easy. Second week of flush and the girls are looking ready. I’m always learning though and will definitely have to be more savage with my lollipoping in the future as I’ve got a fair bit of larf on lower branches. Almost harvest time 😍😍

Added nutrients to top off reservoirs everything looks good …I am content so far with testing will be dropping light schedule to 11 on 13 off to accelerate bud development hopefully shortening flowering time

Whether it was slightly off VPD levels or this particular plant being more demanding, we decided to correct it by increasing the dose of RO Water Conditioner. Now, while this isn’t a direct substitute for Cal-Mag, it does contain trace amounts that can help stabilize the situation. 🔬 Understanding Cal-Mag Deficiency: Calcium and magnesium are essential secondary nutrients. Calcium strengthens cell walls, preventing issues like tip burn and weak stems, while magnesium plays a critical role in chlorophyll production, allowing plants to efficiently absorb light energy. 💡 Signs of Deficiency: • Yellowing between veins (Magnesium) • Rust spots on leaves (Calcium) • Slow growth and weak stems ⚡ How We Address It: • Slightly increasing RO Water Conditioner to see if trace minerals help • Keeping an eye on overall nutrient uptake to ensure no lockout • Monitoring VPD (Vapor Pressure Deficit) closely to optimize nutrient absorption Let’s see how she reacts next week! Branching Development – Pheno #2 Leading the Race All five phenos are thriving, but Pheno #2 is showing the most aggressive branching, pushing outward faster than her sisters. However, overall, we’re seeing very uniform growth, which speaks volumes about the stability of these genetics. 🌱 What is Branching & Why It Matters? Branching is the plant’s way of expanding its canopy, increasing surface area for photosynthesis, and maximizing potential bud sites. Well-structured branches allow better airflow, light penetration, and more even growth—key for a successful high-yield harvest. ⚖️ Topping vs. Leaf Bending – The Training Choice Instead of topping, I’ve decided to go with leaf bending for now. This method allows for gentle manipulation of the plant’s growth without causing major stress. Once we introduce the SCROG (Screen of Green) net, this training will help maximize the canopy spread. Light defoliation and using LST clips to produce a few more clone sites before flipping these girls into flower. They are both ready, with the hella jelly showing calyxes and the jelly donutz showing sex. The Donutz Triploid has so much stretch and too much internodal spacing to do much more cloning. Hoping to clone one more off her before the flip. Added pics of the triploid!
