🌿 Amnesia Skunk Auto — Week 9 From Seed (Week 5 Flower)
We’re back with the Amnesia Skunk auto, and before we dive into this week, let’s take a second to understand how we got here.
This run has been a bit different from the traditional approach.
Even though we’re working with autoflowers, the environment has been set under a 12/12 light cycle from seed — what we’ve been calling a “no veg” approach.
Now, to clarify — it’s not that the plant doesn’t vegetate.
It does. But it does so on its own internal clock, not because we extended light hours to push vegetative growth.
So what happens?
The plant never gets the signal to fully stretch and build structure like in a classic veg phase, which results in:
• more compact plants
• tighter node spacing
• earlier transition into flower
• and a much faster lifecycle overall
And that’s exactly what we’re seeing here.
⸻
🌱 This Week — The Story of the White Hairs (Pistils)
This week, the stars of the show are the white hairs — the pistils.
Those fine white strands you’re seeing shooting out of the buds are the female reproductive organs of the plant.
Their role is simple, but powerful:
They are designed to catch pollen.
Each pistil is connected to an ovule inside the calyx.
If pollinated, that’s where seeds would form.
But in our case — no pollen, no seeds — so the plant continues to push energy into:
👉 resin production
👉 bud swelling
👉 terpene expression
That’s why you’ll notice:
• fresh, bright white pistils = active growth phase
• constant new pistil production = plant still building mass
And right now?
She’s in full production mode.
⸻
🌿 Structure & Development
What’s really interesting here is the morphology.
These are currently the most compact plants in the room, sitting around ~90 cm, but:
• dense structure
• tight internodes
• bud sites stacked closely
The buds themselves are already:
• forming tight
• showing early frost
• pushing aroma earlier than expected
For a plant that never had a traditional veg window, this is honestly impressive.
⸻
🌡️ Environment & Feeding
We’ve kept things stable and consistent:
• Temperature: ~28°C
• Humidity: ~65% RH
• pH: ~6.5
• EC: ~2.0
Water intake is sitting at around 1.5L per plant per day, which tells us:
👉 metabolism is active
👉 root zone is functioning well
👉 demand is increasing as flowers build
⸻
⚡ On the “No Veg” Approach
This run continues to reinforce something interesting:
You don’t always need a long veg phase to get quality results.
What you get instead is:
• speed
• control over height
• uniform canopy
• faster turnover
But also:
• smaller overall plant size
• less room for recovery from stress
• everything happens quicker, so mistakes show faster
It’s a different rhythm — not better, not worse — just a different way to grow.
⸻
🔮 What to Expect Next Week
Looking ahead:
You should expect:
• pistils continuing to multiply
• buds starting to stack and swell more aggressively
• resin production increasing noticeably
• aromas becoming stronger and more defined
What not to expect (yet):
• no major calyx swelling peak yet
• no heavy pistil browning yet
• no final density — we’re still building
We’re still in that “construction phase”, not the finishing stage.
⸻

📸 P.S. – The Eye Behind the Lens
All photos in this diary (for now — except for the ones showing the camera, which I took with an iPhone) are taken with a Sony A6700 paired with a Sony full-frame macro lens and a few more.
Photography is part of the story — it’s how we share the fine textures, the glow, and the quiet details that words can’t always capture.
I’ve also started experimenting with photo stacking — a technique where multiple images, each taken at a slightly different focus point, are layered together to create one perfectly sharp image from front to back.
It’s not digital enhancement or AI; it’s pure photography — a way to reveal the plant’s beauty in microscopic depth, from trichome to petal.
You’ll even see a few shots of "ghost me" capturing the shots — camera, lens, setup — because every grow deserves not just to be cultivated, but documented like art.
