This week's highlights: Root Breakthrough, Dimmer Battles & The EC thingy Another week down! Since my last update on September 13th, the girls have made some serious moves. Here is the day-by-day log of what’s been happening inside the tent: The Story So Far: September 14th – Minor Tweaks & One-Handed Light Gymnastics Adjusted the pH back down from 5.8 to 5.5. I also wanted to bump the PPFD up to 350 µmol/m²/s. Since the somewhat finicky built-in dimmer on the Lumatek ATS 300W Pro only allows adjustments in 25% steps—and I’m far too stingy to buy additional control gear so I had to lower the light physically. Doing that with only one hand was… an experience, to say the least! The bright side? As the plants grow upwards, the PPFD will naturally increase on its own. I just need to keep an eye on the canopy distance. Once the roots hit the main reservoir, I’m expecting an explosive growth surge anyway. September 15th – Steady Cruising Noticed the EC drifted up slightly to 1.3 mS/cm. Left it as is. Just brought the pH back down from 5.7 to 5.5. September 16th – Quiet Day Nothing major to report. The pH only rose to 5.6. My threshold for this phase is 5.7 so I don't bother adjusting down to 5.5 until it hits or exceeds that mark. Minimal effort, maximum chill. September 17th – We Have Touchdown! pH crept up to 5.8, so I dialed it back to 5.5. More importantly: roots from BOTH plants have officially broken through into the main reservoir! Game on. September 18th – Smooth Sailing Just letting the plants do their thing. No intervention needed. September 19th (yesterday) – Reservoir Change & A Quick Lesson on Canna Schedules I did a full reservoir change and prepared the mix for Vegetative Phase I strictly according to the Canna Aqua calculator for 30 liters. I input my custom base EC of 0.28 mS/cm and dosed everything down to the exact milliliter using syringes (66 ml Vega A+B, 60 ml Rhizotonic, 75 ml Cannazym). After letting the solution sit for 2.5 hours to settle, I took a reading expecting the target EC of 1.4. Instead, the meter hit a whopping 1.78 mS/cm! The takeaway here: official feeding charts are guidelines, not absolute truth. Especially when working with remineralized RO water, which reacts quite differently than standard tap water. To bring it back down to a safe 1.4 EC, I had to scoop out 6.5 liters of the hot solution and dilute it back up with fresh, remineralized RO water (EC 0.28). Always double-check your readings before feeding your roots! September 20th (today) - pH correction from 6.1 back to 5.5 and video editing for this week's report. Now that the roots are drinking directly from the reservoir and the fresh nutes are locked in at 1.4 EC, let's see how fast they explode next week! A Note on VPD & Climate Controls: You might notice I’m not running a high-end, dynamic VPD-controlled tent with automated humidifiers or smart exhaust triggers to chase the absolute textbook 1.0 kPa around the clock. Why? Because this is a Lazy Grow (maybe not for so long, still thinking about mainlining), not a NASA cleanroom operation. Looking at my environment logs, temperatures stay nicely between 22°C and 26°C with RH hovering in the 50–65% range. This puts the VPD naturally right in the sweet spot for veg (~0.9 to 1.1 kPa) without me having to micro-manage humidifiers or drain my wallet on automated climate gear. Sure, dialing in VPD to the exact decimal point might squeeze out an extra 5% of dry weight in the end, but ambient room conditions are doing 95% of the heavy lifting just fine. Good enough for me!

So i never ended up doing the nutes i had. I waited until seeing pre flower and top dressed with natures living soil autoflower concentrate. So far so good. I do think they were cal-mag starved prior to adding this because they did start to yellow a bit in between veins. Going all organic from here on out and doing super soil.

Chug chug chug! I think I have about a week or two left for most of them and probably like 4 of these will need an extra week or so aha. Frosting up beautifully; the camera does no justice! But I believe I should start reducing my feed or either flush with molasses and kelp like I’ve grown fond of doing come close to harvest time. Again the smells emanating from this tent is so beautiful, candy sweet orangey smells 🌬️🌬️🌬️

The 2 GSC extreme and one of the GG4 got harvested this morning Dec 20th. The rest are a week or two behind.

they grow fast and are very strong, the branches are thick. a good smell is already emerging. I think the 5 will largely fill the tent. I added led bars on the uprights

D38. Growth is good. They was starting to be a bit more yellow than I like when the lights come on I added a bit more food. Jumped the ppm to 600 counting the. 140 from the tap water. I could. Probably. Feed more but. No need. They happy. The one girl is staying. To small I'm worried it's not gonna be able to reach the screen. So stripped it staked it. And gonna try. To branch it out more. To make up for it and will raise if needed. I've been. Really twisting these girls. Everyday. It has slowed growth down but the smell let's me know it's worth it. Very very sticky already like velcro. First thing I've noticed. For me is. That comparison wise my girls are very easy to make. Sticky& Stinky I've never had this much. Smell or. Taste or stickiness this soon outside they starting to get used to it. So now I'm able to really. Hurt the plant. And make it fight. Fir me the way I do it I get more sticky more stinky the smell is bad actually but I'm not sure if this is normal for inside. Already? I wish you guys could smell this already. It's got that classic skunky smell for sure but there's a Sprite smell mixed with a sweet. Taste already the leaf is very sweet and has a nearly pear taste already. At this rate. Probably gonna be vegging 80+ days. I'm gonna scrog um so really just gotta fill the canopy in but I'm not sure how much these hps can penetrate so I'm not sure how thick to make it. I got 7.5 feet. To work with and I can get the hoods. Real close to the top so I'm thinking. Minuse 1 foot for container 1 foot for the hood. And then the light distance. they brand new so 18+ or it does burn um I can get. 18 for sure so I figure once they hit the wall I'll switch the lights. First time. Here. Bud time I should be able to hit these a lot more. And keep the numbers. Higher longer and keep the ph more stable. But like I said some bro science so we will see but my coco is a 50 50 mix so it drains. So fast I can really unlock the hydro part of this medium it does eat up some food and water and I'm sure this will double in flower probably 2 gals a lady everyday my thing is I want the girls to have fresh new. Always. So it's always got everything. It needs but still has the synthetic nutes style were you can still burn them with to much like I said just a thought on some bro science hope everyone has a good week.

Aug 10: this scrog is looking okay. Likely will avoid doing it this way in future, but it will work out. Aug 11/13: don’t take flash pics of your plants unless you’re also immediately using a 730 nm light as a bloom booster. A bright light at that wavelength converts the hormone and allows the plant to go into dark mode two hours faster. Anyway, the red light cancels out the flash from the pics which is cool because buds look good in flash pics.

The chimera has grown extremely large. It has perfect internodal spacing so that the light can penetrate deep into the plant. Now the flowering starts, we increase the addition of Prosper the flowering fertiliser.

SJ re-affirmed my choice as stability anchor, in case my Haze experiments go wrong (they kinda did*) - and she delivered big time 😵 *they did, with a funny and unbelievable twist: I am the proud owner of two seeds, this one likely is " Mephisto OSMH × 42FB SourJealousy — F1 Fem Auto (rodel) Her flower is extremely dense, which comes with a challenge for spotting bud rot. So far I have not found any bud-rot during hand-trimming, but given her structure and my extended drying, I am not too concerned with finding a spot or two. Here's my logs, excuse the dump: ---- 42 Fast Buds : Sour Jealousy #2 State: Age: 73 days | Life: Content & relaxed throughout all phases. Very healthy & confident representation throughout. Trichomes: ~10% amber | Pistils: Slow, gradual fade towards 80% brown (indica representation; full white pistils possible at correct harvest time) Flower Development: Very evenly matured and ripe flower with light senescence fade (-) deeper into sub-canopy. Larf: ~1.5% Fully matured/ripened to freshly maturing/ripening ratio: 2.6:1, or 72% : 28% Hand-trimming: 6h 46/h Drying: Extended low VPD drying (12d) with increased botrytis risk. Temporary humidity stabilization → grove bags nested in RH container. Flower State: 62% RH on all but top main colas (still burping). Monoterpenes noticeably degraded (30%+ perception) Pharmaceutical Profile: Under my (drying) conditions: very long lasting, mellow. 🌱 Day 57 - Start of the Second-to-Last Flowering Week 🌱 Hello, Grow Friends! Today marks the start of the second-to-last flowering week—Week 9 overall, and Week 5 of flowering. 🌿 I’m getting more and more excited as my first grow nears its end. As I approach harvest, I’ve decided, based on my research, to stop feeding nutrients and stick to just pH-adjusted water for the final two weeks. 💧⚖️ Watering Routine: I’ll keep the same watering schedule—1 liter every two days, which is about 10% of the pot volume. 🌱💧 This should be enough to flush out the remaining nutrients, ensuring a clean finish for the plant. Temperature & Humidity: The temperature remains stable between 19-23°C, which I believe is ideal for this stage of the grow. 🌡️🍂 No more high temperatures to worry about! The humidity is fluctuating between 45-58%, and I’m keeping a close eye on it to stay below 60%. 💧🔍 Everything seems on track for now. 🌿 Plant Health & Growth: The plant still looks very healthy overall. 🌱💪 However, I’ve noticed that in the past three days, there haven’t been any visible changes in the size of the buds. 🤔 It could just be that I’m not seeing the growth clearly, but the only noticeable change is the daily opening of new flower calyxes. 🌸 Harvest Preparation: I’m already getting my equipment ready for drying after harvest. 🛠️ Once it’s time to cut, I’ll be hanging the plant to dry for the first 10 days. 🌿✂️ I want to make sure everything is set for a smooth drying process. 9/13 Took the last special Kush today. I had too. Those fucking locusts were eating more and more. At least the trichs looked good. The second plant is straight fire! They're ALL good. I'll have to do the review. Tenth planet is swelling up and trichs are getting cloudier. They are starting to eat the chem dog too but it needs to bulk up and the trichs aren't there yet. Mk ultra natural may be some of the best quality this year. I'm losing SOME to tje locusts but it seems they avoid the frostier stuff. At least I'm hoping. This is a great plantvand despite the nugs being so tight and stuff it just needs more time and im going to give it to her. Pink kush is actually look9ng like it might finish. But the locusts have STRIPPED a lot of that. I'll keep an eye on them and keep this uuodated. I got a notification saying congratulations on a harvester diary. I know these outdoor seasons are long but what difference does it make? Hopefully I can still add week later.
