Plants were watered on day 4 of week 9, as follows: Lucy: 1 gallon water, pH: 6.27, Height: 22 in. Herbert: 1.25 gallons water, pH: 5.77, Height: 24.5 in. ***Both fed nutrients - 5 ml/.5 gal BioVega (3% N, 1% Phosphate, 5% Soluble Potash), 7 ml/.5 gal BioBoost (1% Phosphate), and 1 ml/.5 gal BioRhizotonic (0.6% Soluble Potash) Plants were watered on day 5 of week 9, as follows: Thin Mint Sr: 1 gallon water, pH: 6.76, Height: 20 in. Thin Mint Jr: 1 gallon water, pH: 6.50, Height: 19.5 in Notes: Thin Mint Jr has nutrient burn and so was NOT fed nutrients today. Thin Mint Sr was fed nutrients at 50% strength 2.5 ml/.5 gal BioVega (3% N, 1% Phosphate, 5% Soluble Potash), 4 ml/.5 gal BioBoost (1% Phosphate), and 0.5 ml/.5 gal BioRhizotonic (0.6% Soluble Potash) (both plants still in nutrient distress - in process of recovery but have some new growth that is greener so improvement is being observed; slowly but surely!) ***Plants ideally would have been transitioned to the flowering phase this week, but due to nutrient deficiencies and nutrient burn on Thin Mint Jr., we are holding off on this transition for 1 week to give the plants a chance to recover from stress.

It’s still been a trial & error process, while “training” I’m constantly afraid of hurting the plant haha. But so far I’m satisfied, if I could get 10 decent grams out of her I’d be happy. Weather has been picking up nicely but still some cold evenings 7-10 d.celcius. Started feeding her some Black Strap Molasses. I forgot to add that I’m really not sure whether she is in flowering or not. & would cutting of like 3 fan leaves be a problem?

This weak did some defoliation she is recover well from Light burn still removing damaged leaves. Other than that she is stacking nicely and very sticky.

Oct 17: close to ready but we’re running out of nice weather in two days. It’s been an absolutely great run of cannabis weather since July but first snow is forecast for 7 days from now, and then it’s below zero all day and there’s no hope at that point. Oct 23: weather has still been good enough to keep going but I’ll take her down tomorrow. She’s the last plant in the grow area and potentially the biggest overall but I don’t think she’ll win that contest. Oct 24: took it all 2,800 g wet. In keeping with Canadian outdoor tradition, there was a bit of snow falling as the plant was being chopped. She would have better buds with stronger sunlight but it’s all for hash and I’m happy with the total weight (of course).

Week 4: Growth Spurts and New Challenges Continued Growth and Health As we move into the fourth week, the plants are showing impressive growth. Their leaves are a lush, vibrant green, and the stems are becoming stronger. The transition to the larger 11-liter fabric pots has clearly paid off, providing the roots with ample space and better aeration. Adjusting Nutrient Levels Given their positive response to the nutrients, I decided to continue with 2/3 of Terra Aquatica Tripart feeding schedule, adjusting slightly to meet their increasing demands. Here's the updated feeding plan for this week: CalMag: 2.5 ml/l (Starting EC before adding nutrients: 0.50 mS/cm) Grow: 1.5 ml/l Bloom: 1.0 ml/l Micro: 0.5 ml/l EC: 1.2 mS/cm (600 ppm PPM-500/TDS) pH: 6.0 Each plant is watered with approximately 20% runoff to ensure there's no nutrient buildup in the coco mix. I will maintain this nutrient level until the pre-flowering stage to avoid the risk of nutrient burn due to over-fertilization. Weather Improvements and Adjustments The weather has been steadily improving, with temperatures expected to rise to around 25°C starting Wednesday, accompanied by abundant sunshine. This upcoming forecast is excellent news for my plants, as I anticipate a final growth spurt before flowering begins. Every centimeter of growth counts at this stage, and I'm optimistic about maximizing their potential under these favorable conditions. Strengthening with Wind Exposure On days with good weather, I move the plants out of the greenhouse to expose them to natural wind. This practice helps strengthen their stems, improving overall stability. Additionally, the wind creates a more challenging environment for pests, helping to keep them at bay. Smart Watering Strategy I only water the plants when the pots feel noticeably lighter. This encourages the roots to search for water, promoting the development of a stronger and more extensive root system. This method helps ensure the plants remain healthy and resilient. Pest Management: Observations and Actions At the beginning of the third week, I noticed dark discolorations on the undersides of some leaves. A few days later, these spots turned into yellow patches. I am still unsure about the cause of these spots. To prevent a potential insect infestation, I sprayed all the leaf surfaces, both top and bottom, with a mildly dosed neem oil mixture. Since then, the spots have not spread further. Because these discolorations are only affecting the lower leaves, they are not causing me significant concern at the moment. Regular inspections and preventive measures are crucial to maintaining the health of the plants and ensuring that any issues are caught early. Decision Against LST At first I have decided against using LST. But some of your comments made me try some LST on two of my plants. I choose Tangie and Gorilla cookies to try out and learn some stuff. Blue dream and Banana purple punch stay without any training. Another week has flown by! The girls are doing great, cruise control this week as I have just been monitoring RH and temps. Trying to keep them as low as possible, I’ve been getting as low as 74 during the day and 68 at night. I finally took a look a look at the trichomes with my jewellers loop, lots of cloudy, and a few amber around the leaves and top colas, but still lot’s of clear trichomes. I’ve ordered myself a wireless/usb digital microscope to assist with the process, and looks like it will be here just in time to determine harvest day. 😎🎄 I started by eliminating the nutrients at the beginning of the week. I typically allow for 3-4 pure water feeds before I harvest, and at the rate they have been drinking, this should be enough to get through the 7-12 days they have before harvest. I don’t flush, but rather “rinse” with normal water amounts, allowing the plant to use up the remaining nutrients in the soil. This also allows me to recover most of the soil from my grows and reuse ♻️ with other soil mix. There has been great debate and a great deal of bro science out there for many years, but the recent studies suggest there is no difference in end result when it comes to flushing or using nutrients right until the end, if a proper dry and cure is performed. Could have gotten more off the plant of it wasn’t mutated from the get. But oh well I’m not mad about it. I just won’t be growing anything from that company ever again and also won’t be growing old strains anytime soon. I’ve had so much more success with other genetics of different strains from different company’s. The Skywalker from DNA came out amazing. The sour wiz just came down and that’s even better. 9/1 Update: Welcome back to my garden! Thanks for following me on this 16 strain photoperiod SOG grow adventure! If you're just joining us. We have 18 photoperiod seedlings in the tent. 16 of them will go into 12"X12" square pots in a 4x4 sea of green. I plan to top once just above the third node. I will also allow the 2 shoots from the second node to grow with the top two to form 4 main colas. The Gorilla x Cookies sprouted 8/26! STILL nothing from Jenny Kush. Weak-sauce! The garden is happy and healthy! I am going to transplant this upcoming weekend into 6" x 6" square pots so they have room to stretch their legs and build a nice foundation before going into bloom. With Jenny seemingly out if the running, we have 17 seedlings and 2 of them are regular seeds. Hopefully at least one of the two will be female. I am going to say both will be little ladies! Week 1 (23-29/01) During this week I will feed the plants with tap water and only 2 ml of Bio-Grow. I will also dimmer the light down to 30% because, being it at 20cm from the plants, I want to avoid burning them. The fan will be on 4 hours/day. By means of the inkbird thermostat I will control the heating/cooling system. Inkbird parameters will be: 23.5°C with -3°C for heating and +2°C for cooling. 23/01 D1: preparing the pots. A layer of gravel surronded by light-mix by BioBizz. Planted the three sprouts. 24/01 D2: added a support to each plant to avoid the fall due to the weight. Provided a glass of fresh water (25cl) to each of them. 25/01 D3: - 26/01 D4: watering day. Added 2ml of Bio-grow to 1.2l of tap water (approximately 40cl of water each plant). 27/01D5: - 28/01D6: watering day. Approximately 50cl of tap water to each plant. Powered on the fan. 29/01D7: -
