📆 Semana 5 El pH sigue terminando de estabilizarse en el coco, con raíces activas y absorción cada vez más fluida. El verde se mantiene sano, todavía ajustando fino la nutrición. El estiramiento prácticamente cesa y los cogollos empiezan a compactar; los erizos se cubren de más resina y la energía se centra ya en el engorde inicial. Aromas más definidos y estructura uniforme. Seguimos creciendo fuerte 💪!

Thank you to all that have helped me along this journey. All of the answers, tips, comments, likes, and other diaries have been so very motivating to me. I originally started this diary only for my own reference but I'm so pleased to have learned that others have found it helpful or interesting, for whatever reason. If you're curious about equipment see the germination page and if you have questions feel free to drop me a line. So, without further ado: Jan 19 Day 105 Harvest day! 🎉🎉 Not really knowing how to tackle the situation, I started by cutting all of the fan leaves I was able to reach. Then, I cut each branch working from the perimeter inward - which due to the way she grew, was essentially the same as working from the bottom branches of the meristem to the top. Each branch was cut, cleaned, and handled individually before moving on to the next. Decided to wet-trim most of the branches, leaving 4 fairly untouched (only fan leaves were removed). Will be interested to see the differences, if any. They're all drying/hanging near the grow tent ~45%RH, 72F (22C). It isn't completely dark though, as some light is escaping the tent into the closet where they are hanging. I'm hoping this isn't terrible but I'll be keeping my eye on them. The process took the better part of an evening but I was cautiously learning, taking breaks, and generally being fairly slow. I'm sure I'll be faster and more confident next time. Jan 27 Day 113 Drying is complete, I think. Branches were hung and dried for 8 days in a consistent 68F (20C) 40% RH. They were determined to be dried after hearing a snap when bending (not breaking) large stems and buds felt dry to touch. Sugar leaves bordering on crispy while buds still had some give / fluffiness. The flowers from previously manicured branches were relatively easily plucked. However, the dry trimming process for the unmanicured branches proved to be a bit of a pain. They have been placed in a pyrex container to cure. I'm hoping flavors and aromas that are currently lacking will develop in time. 🤞 --- Stats --- Veg time: ~45 days. Flowering time: ~60 days. Height ~18in., ~46cm. Main Bud Length: ~9in., 23cm. Harvested 16 Hangable branches and a few extra medium/small buds. Bud Wet Weight, with stems: 242g, ~8.5oz. Larf/Popcorn Sugar-leaf Wet Weight (not counted above): 18g, ~0.6oz. Leaf/Waste Wet Weight: 38g, ~1.3oz. Drying time: 8 days. Dried Weight with Stems: 70g, ~2oz. Trimmed and Dried Total Bud Weight: 50g, ~1.75oz. --- Thoughts in hindsight --- Firstly, I can't believe I haven't tried growing sooner. So rewarding in so many ways! My initial hope was to harvest an oz., so I am obviously quite happy we could surpass that mark by a good margin. This is a testament to the plant more than me of course, as I was completely inexperienced and was purposefully as hands-off as I could be comfortable with throughout her growth. I can only imagine things will improve with time. Paper-towel germination seems to be prone to more stress for myself and arguably the seedling as well. Floating in 1% H2O2 solution seems to be ideal for me. I made bad soil choices. This mixture seemed to be too dense, leading to some watering/strangulation issues mid-growth. My 2nd grow consisting of mostly coco coir seems healthier and seems easier to maintain proper hydration. Coco might also be reusable while this soil definitely seems spent now. I didn't respect pH at first and initial testing was eye-opening. That said, after simply testing water and fertilizer readings a few times, I gradually felt more comfortable with guestimating during most feedings, only testing sporadically later in her life cycle. This seemed to be fine and was a bit of a relief after early testing proved tedious every feed. I've been happy with Better-Gro orchid fertilizer. This is of course contrary to most advice, which I admit is probably for good reason. That said though, I didn't notice any major toxicities or deficiencies during her grow. So, these products seem to have worked for me and are so much more affordable than cannabis-specific fertilizers. I was quite weary about not having cal-mag, but this never seemed to be an issue in this particular case. However, I'll be keeping a similar eye on my 2nd grow in coco, which I understand may need it. Training and pruning is important. This plant was quite bushy and wild likely resulting in quite a bit of unnecessary larf/popcorn. Not to mention the additional time needed to trim when harvesting. Also regarding training, pipe cleaners can leave noticeable cuts in the stem they hold. Thickly coated flexible garden wire would likely be ideal. I need to get a loupe or magnifying attachment for the phone. Digital zoom with shaky hands is not great for checking trichomes and my 3x magnifying glass just doesn't cut it. I cannot speak toward potency or yield without more experience, but simply for the sake of a greener hue, I think I could've harvested her a week earlier. Because I left a few branches untended during dry, I was able to experience both the wet and dry trimming processes. Unless keeping leaves for extra humidity during drying, I seem to prefer wet trimming as the still supple leaves were easier to remove with less bud handling. Sorry For The Delay but I was kinda busy ......Anywho on 3/19 I Changed The light Schedule form 18/6 to 12/12 To Begin My Pre-Flower Stage I Also Bent The Last Few Uneven Tops To Have A Table Top like Canopy (LST) Also Cut Off all Little Branches (Lollipopping) To Prevent Getting Any Little Pop Corn NUGs. Then ON 3/20 I Increased My Light Intensity From 25% to 50% And began giving These Girls There Flower Nutrients Listed Above . AN Updated Video Of the Week POSTED ABOVE Video Taken About 3 Days After Making These Changes And yes The are All Showing to Be Females

8/16 Watered before feeding two gallons to the garden. Defoliated a bit and noticed an open folded leaf that inchworms must've crawled out of. Also found another japanese beetle today. They are in the area but this far I've only found four. Up the road they've skeletonized plants so I'm crossing my fingers. Next year that's one thing I'm doing for sure. Bird netting. No pillars and no japanese beetles. Can't be that expensive. I may need to do another treatment. Of Spinosid or BT to be safe. I haven't seen much fresh damage like I had before on lower branches. Plants seem to go more into flower everyday. Dreamcatcher furthest along followed by a seedling in a 5 gallon then blueberry and ice cream cake is bringing up the rear. This is when the fun starts. I've put a lot of time and money in since March. Temps are lower today seems like it's going to be a great day. 8/17 didn't water. I figured I'd let things dry out. Defoliated a shit ton of yellow leaves. Every day plants seem to be flowering at a rapid pace. I plan to apply another treatment of BT as a saw another inchworm nest. Also found a japanese beetle that I think is responsible for some of the damage I've seen. 8/18 Soil was dry so I gave it a good watering. Buds are developing extremely fast. I can't believe the changes I see on a daily basis. Still damage. At least it's not destroyed by the japanese beetles like some of the neighboring plants. I did have to defoliate a lot of yellow leaves after this last feed. I know about sensenece and I had the same issue last year. It still seems worrisome to see leaves die. Temps swing thirty degrees here so that might be a contributing factor. I hope it's not some kind of nutrient lockout. Don't know how to tell but I know I don't feed much or often to try to avoid that. I haven't flushed and I really don't want to. Next year super soil. I need to do another preventative spray and go over during the dark. Will update as I go. 8/19 Hurried morning and plants were wet so I didn't water. Looks like it's going to rain. Plants went through a huge growth spurt and buds are developing at a rapid rate but I haven't gotten to the reason why the old big fans turn yellow and drop. Especially since it's after a growth spurt. I probably need to flush. It started at the bottom at first but it's moved up a little. I'll update further today. UPDATE: Went back over and fed two gallons to the garden. Replaced 1tbsp tiger bloom with 1/2 Kool bloom and no microbe brew. Plants seem like they need nitrogen. After finding three sets of leaves with moth eggs and finding what looks like septoria or another fungal infection on the plant outside the cage in the 30 gallon tote. I almost put the ax to it but for now it's just isolated. Stalk is bigger than the ax handle so I'll let it do its thing but not with my other girls. I need to spray BT but I also need to treat WPM. I'll check maybe I have some lost coast plant therapy left. 8/20 No water. Plants were wet. Lost another shit ton of yellow leaves. May be WPM that has progressed. Treated the garden early am with lost coast plant therapy. Will update further today. UPDATE: Took a short video I'll upload tomorrow. Made the decision to water as plants were dry. Probably should've waited but it's been so hot. Humidity is ridiculous. Plants look cleaner after LCPT. Buds developing fast. Looking back on my old journals and seeing the same questions pop up from last year is reassuring. I need to order more LCPT and I also need to get in and prune any shoot that has dead stuff on it. There is some more on the interior I should take as well. I spent a good deal of time (twice) today defoliating and making sure everything yellow was gone in case of a fungal infection. 8/21 Didn't water. Looks overcast. Plants are transitioning to flower. They seemed to like the last feeding. I think I may have been underfeeding. I defoliated what needed it and the dead stuff but there wasn't as much. I can still see WPM this morning. It's just so humid here and it's been raining EVERY night. I'll probably use vinegar or h2o2 tonight. With all the moths and moth eggs I've been finding it wouldn't hurt to do an application of BT. I also need to keep an eye on my ice cream cake. Plant is enormous and it's only in a 20 or 30 gallon bag. I can't remember which. Anyway maybe it's just the lighting but it doesn't seem as rich green as it was. I'll keep an eye on them. 8/22 No water as it's raining. That hurricane Henri is supposed to around here today or tomorrow. I'll have to check but I think I'm fine. My supports are sturdy. I'll do a double check but things seem fine. Flowering nicely. It's kind of discouraging that it's been raining every night and the rh is always ridiculous as of late. The fog this morning was horrendous. It's like I could cut it with a knife. Let's see if it is going to rain tonight. If not I'll spray.

Harvest time has come. This plant grew beautifully and strong. The flowering time was insanely fast hence the "fast" strain. The Gaia green nutrients are where its at. Definitely sticking to organic from now on after this grow. The smell is pungent and stinking up my entire house in a great way! Very resinous buds so I cant wait to use the nug smasher and press some rosin. Overall great grow and learned a lot about the organic process. Next grow is going to be blueberry pie fast. 11/29 - At this point in the game, plants don't ever look much different day-to-day! I'm wondering, though, if this one is showing her starting to fade... it's either that or she's needing some stronger PK nutes... any thoughts? 12/2 - I'm going to start winding her down... gotta pick up some Ripen and some Flawless Finish ... Probably going to have to shorten the period of time I use these products but hell, she's pretty used to me screwing up - LOL! 12/03 - so my local grow store was out of Ripen - so I guess I'm going to forget that one... I'm going to let her go until Tuesday when she will be exactly 13 weeks old and start a 3-day flush using General Hydroponics FloraKleen (they also did not have Flawless Finish!).... Planning to chop her next Saturday unless the amber hasn't really made its presence known... We'll see.... I'm just going to go by what she tells me... but it really IS time, old girl... it really is. 12/04 - Doing a bucket change today, she's going to an EC of 0.2-0.4 or thereabouts and I'm not going to worry about the pH - my tap water is about 7.5 so that's what she's getting unless I relent and drop it to the upper 6's - I'm just not going to overly concern myself with it. I think her bulking has finished and SHE needs to finish up. Found a few amber on leaves in the middle of the plant and I know those can really be rather ignored .... but I'm still concerned about the trichs on the main cola - haven't seen much change between milky and clear for a while now... so it's puzzling to me. Maybe the drop in EC will kick her into truly finishing... if it doesn't, I can always bring the EC back up, the pH back down and keep her going... She's always been my "experiment" - always been my "tester" - so why not experiment at this stage of her life as well?!

One of the plants grew massive! However the smoke wasn’t the best until a good 4 weeks cure. Very hairy buds too which was interesting 😂 Still a nice smoke

Strong development over the past week, with clear vertical growth and well-defined tops forming. This should be the final week of vegetative growth before she fully transitions into flowering.

All going well now, just lowered my setup by 35cm to gain more space for the ladies... also now my reservoir is below the cabin instead of inside, so much cooler water now (in fact I had to pace a heater to avoid temperature below 18˚C)

Cette semaine 3 et 4 a été sans plus un seul bémol est que ma deuxième fille qui montrait nettement des nuances violettes sur ses pointes de têtes s’est cassé pendant un essai de LST, faute entièrement personnelle, j’assume néanmoins on continue avec quand même. La 2e s’est étiré un peu et a reçu parfaitement son LST et a même commencé à montré ses pistils de pré floraison donc on engraisse. Du coup on a profité de ces essai de LST sur les deux fifilles pour commencer les engrais BIO GROW & BIO TOP MAX et bientôt BIO BLOOM pour la phase complète de floraison. Hi guys! For this run i got some nice looking clones. Really looking forward for this one. 11x Gelato Sorbet (Dna Genetics) left side in the box 13x Cookies&Cream (Exotic Genetics) middle of the box 8x French Macarron (T.H. Seeds) right side of the box My setup got a nice update with the Sanlight Evo 5 100 with 320w. Aim to upgrade all of my S1 Q6w soon. All together with 985watt now. I use Biobizz-Lightmix and started to add Nutrients at week 3 after i planted it in the 8l pots. For this run ill use Hesi Nutrients because i use them for years and worked most of the time pretty well for me. I fimmed some plants and trained most of them with LST-Training. I will send them into flower in the middle of week 5 ---‐------------------------- Week 4: Plants are looking ok. I wanted a higher humidity and tried to increase it with a humidifier. Week 5: The fimming worked quite well on the plants i used it on and i got a nice increase in height and strength Aiming to send them into flower in the next few days. :) Week 6: Day 3 of Flowering plants look nice and healthy. Some gelato sorbets had issues from stress but they catched up ok. Week 7: End of week 2 of flowering plants look ok most of them. After i saw some nice results at tents from friends and had some own nice experience with the terpinator i start giving "purpinator" this run a go and start mixing it into my feeding schedule every watering Week 8: it looks ok so far but i would be a bit more satisfied if the plants would be a little taller... :) Hope u like the diarie and follow with this run!

Day 77-84 (April 17th-24th) (Day 78) I honestly cant believe I’ve been vegging this long. The growth for almost 80 days of veg is laughable. I’ve compiled a little list of what has gone wrong so far. - I added too much glacial moraine which made the soil too water retentive - I’ve been foliar feeding too much kelp - I gave too many bloom nutrients for a plant in veg - EDIT: DID NOT WATER ENOUGH AT ONCE The plants have been drooping like crazy this past week and I’m going to try watering in a full gallon per plant. I first thought it was from the medium not drying out enough, soil compaction ect. and I’m sure those are definitely areas where my soil mix could improve but the bottom of the container is pretty damn dry. I could actually be under watering despite soaking the top with 500ml a day. I’m going to sit the pots on some plastic sheeting so they don’t evaporate as much from the bottom and water in a full gallon each making sure I get some runoff. I was going to wait until I get my air pump but fuck it, it’s coming tomorrow afternoon. The pots are so big that they’re not fully wetting to the bottom even with a gallon. I’m going to try to water in a gallon every 4 days while keeping the top soil moist with the sprayer. In hindsight 6 plants in 5-7 gallon pots would be the most ideal. (Day 79) Holy fuck did a full gallon watering make a difference. I should have been doing this the whole time. All 4 plants are praying and stretching upward like crazy. They just look more vigorous and happy within a day. I bet they will be even happier with that supplemental air. If things stay this smooth I should be able to flip around day 84, possibly earlier. Got my air pump in the mail today. This is kind of a shot in the dark so hopefully it works. It’s super loud and vibrates like crazy. First I’m going to try running it 24/7 and see if there is any improvement over the next few days. If it does work, I’ll try running it on my humidity controller so it’s not constantly humming and will only turn on when the humidity is high. I’m going to turn the night time temps down to 70f to prevent root problems now that I’m watering much bigger amounts less frequently and it’s getting warmer during the day. (Day 81/Day 1F) Ever since I’ve been watering in the proper amounts I have seen an absolute explosion in growth. I’ve decided to flip today, now that I’m confident my soil mix isn’t completely fucked. I might run into some N/mg problems during the stretch so I will make sure to give a final foliar feeding around the end of week 1. (Day 3F) So I’m literally seeing dwc growth rates now. Plants have grown more in the last 5 days than the last 3 weeks. If I had stayed at this pace of growth since day 1, I would have an 8 foot tall plant or I would be halfway through flower already. Oh well. Good learning experience. *grits teeth* I’m going to put up the second layer of trellis before these girls stretch out of control. Bbb#3 is seriously stretchy and will likely more than double in size in the next 2 weeks. The other 4 are all quite stout and bushy. I’m giving a light, preemptive defoliation each day and picking off some of the lower sucker branches. I will do a full strip around day 21F.
