FERMAKOR BARREL MIX – BASE IN USE (Testing on the Fantasy Feast girl we pulled out of another diary https://growdiaries.com/diaries/274722-grow-journal-by-yan402 ) (FERMAKOR BASE SYSTEM KOH VERSION diary https://growdiaries.com/diaries/278391-grow-journal-by-yan402) (Urea & Micros on the way — first week running without them) 🍶💧🍶💧🍶💧🍶💧🍶 💧 30 L Barrel – Current Working Mix 🍶💧🍶💧🍶💧🍶💧🍶 Step 1 – Calcium Nitrate (Part A) 7 L warm water (~35–40 °C) → added 45 g Calcinit, stirred until fully clear. That’s the calcium + nitrogen backbone for the feed. Step 2 – FERMAKOR PK Base (Part B) 15 L water in the main barrel → added 30 ml FERMAKOR PK Concentrate, mixed well. This forms the main P + K part of the formula. Step 3 – Combine Solutions Slowly poured the Calcinit mix into the barrel while stirring — no reaction, still crystal clear. That confirms the mix is stable and precipitation-free. 🌿 Step 4 – FPJ / FFJ Batch Added 30 ml homemade FPJ (fish + veg batch) ≈ 1 ml/L. Color shifted to a light-amber tone — looks alive and active. 🍋 Step 5 – Citric Acid Balance Added 1 tsp citric acid after everything was blended to fine-tune pH and help chelate micros later on. 📦 Step 6 – Top Up & Check Filled to the 30 L mark with plain water → pH tested with drops, showing yellow-green — roughly 5.8 – 6.0 range. Nice clean look, stable smell, no residue. 💧 Current Base Ingredients (Active Mix) Warm Water ≈ 22 L total Calcinit 45 g → N + Ca foundation FERMAKOR PK Base 30 ml → P + K support Citric Acid 1 tsp → Chelation + pH balance FPJ / Fish Emulsion 30 ml → Organic enzyme booster Result: clean amber mix, mild and balanced. Slight tip burn early week → gone after pH stabilized. Both are still pushing out lots of new white pistils but glands are swollen all over the place and she's completely covered in cloudy trichs with few ambers 3-5%..will b harvesting her mid to late wk and will write final harvest report when she's ready to cure.. My carbon filter is struggling to completely take away all the smell and you get a faint odour when i enter room were the tent is.. Why we changed nothing (and why that’s not doing nothing) Your room conditions: • 🌡️ Day temp: ~28 °C • 💧 RH: ~65% • ⚡ EC: 2.4 • pH: 6.5 • 📏 Height: ~40–80 cm • 💡 LED lighting On paper, some growers would panic at 28 °C in flower. But here’s the key difference between growing by numbers and growing by understanding: Under LED, leaf temperature ≠ room temperature. LEDs don’t radiate infrared heat like HPS. So while the wall sensor says 28 °C, the leaf surface is usually 2–4 °C cooler. And the plant does not “feel” the room — it feels its own leaf temperature. That’s where leaf VPD comes in. ⸻ Leaf VPD — the part most people skip VPD (Vapor Pressure Deficit) is simply the difference between how much moisture the air can hold and how much it actually holds. But here’s the nuance most charts miss: • Room VPD is calculated with room temp • Leaf VPD is calculated with leaf temp So if: • Room = 28 °C • Leaf = ~24–26 °C • RH = 65% 👉 our leaf VPD lands right in the comfort zone for early–mid flower. And the plants are confirming that with their behavior: • Deep, relaxed green • No tacoing, no praying too hard • Internodes strong and structured • Uniform nutrient uptake across phenotypes That’s the real data. We’re not ignoring numbers We’re letting the plant be the final authority. Stability here beats “fixing” something that isn’t broken. ⸻ Defoliation — why this time was heavier Let’s be very clear: This was not aesthetic defoliation. This was functional defoliation. Context matters: • 🏠 8×8 room • 🌱 ~27 plants • 🌬️ Airflow, light penetration, humidity pockets all scale differently Sometimes a single plant wouldn’t “ask” for leaves to be removed — but the room does. Why you defoliated: • Improve airflow through a dense canopy • Reduce micro-humidity pockets • Allow photons to travel deeper, not just hit the roof • Reset apical dominance and refocus energy on flowering sites Yes — i went harder than originally planned. But: • Genetics are strong • Plants are healthy • Root zone is dialed • Feed is stable Healthy plants recover fast. Stressed plants don’t. These girls are the first category. And importantly: we didn’t stack stress. No feed change. No environment change. No light shock. That’s how we “go hard” safely. Wow, growing this beauty was amazing. She totally changed my perspective on autoflower cannabis plants! As well Seedsman! You guys rock! Seriously, I loved growing her from start to finish she took off in her living soil set up. The only thing I would change is having a bigger pot next time and being more watchful of my watering. But all in all she grew great threw veg, nice and strong branches, deep green and lush growth, and she followed that with a beautiful flower cycle. What more can I say?!? Will be looking forward to the next Seedsman competition 😉

Week 7 for White widow by greenhouseseedco, Shes looking stunning to be honest... surprised to not have any roots growing through the pot holes, compared to the space panda but cant really complain as this girl is doing wayyyy better 😂 Ill be topping her again in a few days for 16 mains... but will also be transplanting her in a 2 weeks probably.

Runoff ph is a bit high this time. Don’t know why. Around 6.8. Average ph going in is 6.0. Also the big fan leaves on ice cream cakes are kind of strange shaped. Will see how they are going to look later.

So this week after I gave it under nutrients I apparently gave it too much nitrogen while having a potassium deficiency. Shiney dark leaves, So i fixed that, but some didn't bounce back, and I tried nitrogen. I think they are doing pretty good considering everything I've put them through SO FAR. lol. Nutrients are NPK Raw's total lineup, follow their instructions at first, Fastbuds adjustments as of this week.

3/23/25 everything looks nice. Shes stretching and has a nice internodal spacing and the pistils are just getting bigger and bigger. Havent been feeding anything. Just watering when dry. I amended the soil with dr earths 394 bud and bloom booster and she seems super healthy and happy right now. Its still crazy to me that these decided to flower with 18/6 lighting. I wish it was easier to upload media here. That's why is taking me so long. Stretching everywhere, she went from 3 feet to 6 feet in a heartbeat. She is running into the light. I raised the ppm because I'm going to turn 600 watts on. They look healthy, but too much legs.

9week flowering

So another week ticked off, with all going to plan so far. Plants all responding well to training (just lst & some tactical defoliation). All are showing their first pistils so expecting them to start stretching any time now. Only plain dechlorinated ph’d water so far into my home made dry amended soil / coco / castings mix. Will top dress at the next watering and perhaps a compost tea at the end of this / start of next week. As for the smoking, I have started to smoke a little of the strawberry pie auto from last harvest which is just starting to cure. I might even prefer it to the gorilla cookies, it’s so dank. Therefore a little bit cross with myself for not including at least 1 this round. Still, first world problems I guess. Anyway thanks for reading, have a great week. 😊
