~ FASTBUDS TESTER #2201 ~ Well friends, here we go on another 'canna-venture' together! The grow room has had a complete remodel and some upgrades done to it including brand spanking new 4x8 and 4x4 tents and a Trolmaster Hydro X controller along with a new Control Panel. This tester strain is one of six tester strains that FastBuds has graciously provided me with and I'm looking forward to seeing what this girl has to offer when she's grown to her full potential! One drawback of 'testers' is I have little to no information on it other than its number and that it's an autoflower... 🤪 But, it's ALWAYS a blast growing them for me because not knowing a lot allows me to just concentrate on the essentials: Light, Environment, Water, Nutrients and possibly a bit of LST... not complicated, just basics like keeping a constant temperature and RH in the tent at a level that gives a good VPD, watering when almost dry and maintaining proper light levels according to their stage of growth. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ~THE SETUP~ ~Initially seeds were lightly scuffed, then soaked for 3 hours in 78℉ distilled water after which they were transferred to moist paper towels laid out in a Jiffy Pellet plastic starter tray with lid. Underneath the tray was placed a Mars Hydro Heat Mat with Controller that was set to 78℉ where they stayed until their tap roots emerged. ~Planted into Jiffy Peat Pellets that were hydrated with distilled water warmed to 78℉ with a 7.0 ph. ~Once roots emerge from the Jiffy Pellet they're transferred to their fabric pots. ~Grown 100% organic in a 4g Gronest fabric pot and a 3g fabric pot by Wraxly filled with Mother Earth 70/30 Coco/Perlite medium and initially amended with Dr. Earth 4-4-4 / Earthworm Castings / Dr. Earth Flower Girl 3-9-4 and Coast of Maine Stonington Blend Organic Plant Food 5-2-4. ~19/5 light cycle for the entire run with supplemental UVA added during flower. Lights are controlled by a Trolmaster Hydro X controller set for a 15min Sunrise/Sunset simulation. ~Top dressing every 3-4 weeks with slow release dry amendments and Earthworm castings. ~Straight water ph'd @ 6.2-6.8 when needed and bi-weekly Compost Tea's. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Weekly Updates: 12/29- Here we go into Week One of Flower! It's been a month since this pretty lady popped out of the ground and she's looking perfect with pistils popping out everywhere! Her 4g Gronest fabric pot was still heavy when lifted, and she looked happy, so I skipped watering today and will check on her tomorrow morning after the lights come on. Since being topped roughly a week ago, she has two new shoots that are emerging and she continues looking extremely healthy with excellent vigor and have a beautiful healthy green color! She's up to 9" =/- now and even though she's beginning to flower, she's continuing to stretch which I'm attributing to her having some Sativa dominate genetics in her....This girl has long legs! 12/31- Today was a 'dry day and all I did was refill the humidifier and some canopy maintenance, tucking shade leaves and gently bending branches. It's been a little over four weeks since she was planted in her amended medium and it's time to give the microbes a good feed so they can continue to provide her with all the macro and micro nutrients she needs so, yesterday she got a good watering with 0.5g of de-chlorinated water with GreenGro's Veg, Flower, Green Aminos, Natures Brix and Granular Myco added to it @ 1.5 tsp/g and then ph'd to 6.4 @ 73℉. 01/02- Yesterday I watered her from the bottom with 0.5g of de-chlorinated water to which I added 3ml/g of Earth Juice OilyCann cal-mag to prevent any Cal-Mag issues before they arrive. I also have the HLG 650R set 36" above canopy and it's set at 60% power which is being controlled by a Trolmaster HydroX controller. The tent environment is on point with temp's running 70 when the light's off and 74℉ with the light on. I'm keeping the RH at 55-60% right now but will drop it as flowering progresses. Finally, I've been keeping the VPD in the tent running 0.85 - 1.05 which I'm happy with! 01/04- She's been doing well getting watered every other day and yesterday she received 0.5g of de-chlorinated water with 3ml/g of Fish Head Farms Fish Sh!t Soil Conditioner which was then ph'd to 6.3 @ 72℉. She's definitely a big girl and with her wide node spacing doesn't really require any defoliation, just some LST and watch her grow! She's maintaining great color, vigor and is progressing into flower nicely! This is going to be an exciting week. This blueberry is looking quite beefy and really excited to see how it progresses through flower. Grapefruit is looking nice, pretty stocky and super bushy. She just wants to keep shooting leaves. You would have no idea there’s a pile of grapefruit leaves plucked off of it.

*If anyone read through my GDP diary, this is going to be mostly the same stuff. So, sad day friends. I got spider mites and had to throw all my plants out. This is what I think happened: About 2-3 weeks ago I noticed some freckling on the lower leaves. I looked at it and thought it might be a cal/mag issue so I added cal/mag that week and went about my business. I saw it about a week later and it wasn't getting any better so I added more cal/mag. This continued for about 2-3 weeks until I finally took off a leaf and examined it under my microscope. I saw little bugs crawling everywhere and my stomach just dropped. My fiance did some quick research while I was panic ripping leaves off (see pictures) and she correctly diagnosed it as spider mites. I debated with myself and my close friend and ultimately I decided to throw all the plants in my tent away. I know that there are a lot of people who will say that there are things I could have done to make it to harvest but what it came down to is the people I take care of and personal pride. I consider myself a caregiver and I give away product for free that I am not going to use to my family and close friends. I thought to myself "Would you smoke this?" and when my answer was "ehhh, I don't know", I thought about how it would feel giving it away and immediately made the decision to destroy them. I take an immense amount of pride in my product and this hobby and if I am not going to stand behind it I would rather just start over. I grow from my heart (shout out to the Grow From Your Heart Podcast!) to help people and make sure my family is not getting unsafe product from sketchy people. To spray pesticides in flower that may hurt people and have little bug carcasses in there just goes against that in every way and is just wrong in my opinion if you are giving it away to others. If you are the only one smoking it then it is one thing to take that risk but not with your patients. I want my medicine to help people, not create or exacerbate health issues. It is also important to note that the mites had moved from my flower tent into my veg space and took over my auto berry as well. Damn things are crafty and fast. So that is why I made the decision to destroy them all after 3+ months of res changes, pruning, and manifolding on a slow vegging strain. Feel free to chime in with your opinion but I do not regret my decision. I threw out my new clones, mother plant, and auto berry I had on my veg side as well. Shout out to all the other growers out there that do the right thing by their patients. Caregivers > Cash croppers. For anyone curious, I removed everything from my tent and scrubbed it all with a 20% bleach/water solution. All equipment has been wiped down and stored in the garage away from any organic materials. I will give them until tomorrow (2 days) to air out and dry and then I will wipe it down again with bleach and wait another 2 days. Hopefully that will make sure everything is dead and will not come back next grow. That next grow should start in about a week. It sucks but sometimes it happens and you gotta be ready for it. Lesson learned. Never bring outdoor plants into your indoor garden even if it is after just a day or two. A bunch of people on here and Reddit warned me and I did not listen. Now I have learned the hard way and it feels like when your parents "told you so" haha. Thanks to everyone who stopped by along the way. Stay tuned for a new grow coming soon. White dots on a couple leaves? From what I read I’m thinking pests? Can’t see anything though. Feeding daily with half the recommended dose. Switched to 15 gl pot in coco. Topped and pruned. 7 hours direct sun and then mostly shade.

Week 8 and growth continues to be muted. Due to the poor soil, I'm only slightly scratching the strain's potential. I've attached a video of the insects that were in the soil, along with the fungus gnats. So, I ended up harvesting this earlier than I wanted, and not under ideal circumstances. My plan was 1 more week of full nutes, then 2 weeks flushing, then harvest. Nature had other plans. Despite being quite meticulous with the insecticide I had to deal with a pretty nasty aphid infestation which messed up a few branches - but worse was the caterpillars I discovered over the weekend. I started the flush then & began to cut off all of the leaves that had the worst pests (as opposed to continuing the insecticide). I wanted to continue to flush for as long as I could until the bugs were getting out of control. I felt today was that day as I noticed caterpillar droppings in several locations. My last harvest was ravaged by caterpillars so I decided to just chop her down for damage limitation. She might not taste as good as she could have, but oh well.

Hey everyone 😃. This week she has done great 👍. It was done again on all the drifted topping and sprayed one last time with neem oil so that the last trips are finally gone 😁. We haven't had any pests for so many years and all of a sudden we have such little shit parts 😅. This week it was poured twice with 1.2 l of water. GHSC enhancer was added during a pouring (1 g per l) The tent was cleaned every day this week and the plants were checked for health. The humidifier is filled once a day. Spiderfarmer humidifier got my 2x4 dialed in almost immediately. If it performs this well over time I'd recommend it greatly. Had some trouble with light burn because I briefly cranked up my light and uv at the same time lol. I stopped that. Thinking about flowering soon. If anyone sees this, what do you think?

On day 36, the lighting regime was changed to 12 hours of light. Everything goes on schedule, the plant looks very healthy. I'm satisfied:) This is my first plant that grows so well. The leaves are just perfect. Based on the result, I will be adjusting the substrate with nutrient additives.

Day 52____________________________ - Not much has changed from last week. Just fighting with the trellis net keeping everyone held down. - pH has been strange recently. I’ve been used to the pH raising as the week goes by, but in the past week or so, pH has dropped. Used to try to keep it at 5.6 and it would slowly turn to 6.0, but a few mornings I’ve checked it, it’s been at 5.4 or 5.3, so I’ve adjusted pH to 5.8, and am just monitoring it closely. - Checking root health has been a struggle as the trellis net kinda keeps everything held down. Removed the net to make sure nothing was getting caught in the drain tubes and make sure no root rot is happening and re-installed. - Starting to get super stinky when the stems are touched Day 55____________________________ - Plants were in desperate need of some under canopy clean up. Removed lots of fans shadowing and lower, weaker branches. Noticed a few leaves not looking so hot that we’re laying on top of net pot. Assuming it’s just from being neglected. Keeping an eye on nute levels and pH just in case. Day 56____________________________ - Removed a few other fan leaves once plant repositioned itself after messing with ScrOG. - Installed small fan blowing through newly opened up under canopy to help plant breath. - Will need a bigger Dehumidifier if opening up the under canopy doesn’t help bring down moisture. Set to 45%, expecting to get closer to 55%, but still seeing times with 75% or higher. It’s averaging out to 63%, which isn’t terrible, but I know I’ll need more juice soon anyway Day 56____________________________ - First pistils are showing!!! Day 57____________________________ - Decided to throw my Amazon.com dehumidifier in the dumpster. It would run all day and only pull a few teaspoons of water from the air. Got a hold of a nice GE unit that can handle 70 pints per day of dehumidification. I have literally zero clue if that’s a lot or not, but it’s 6 times the size of my old one, so I’m sure it’ll do fine.

Another easy week, weather has been beautiful! Lot’s of ☀️. They have been very thirsty as a result, I was able to get three waterings in this week. Just keep bringing them in and out of their pop up greenhouse daily. Started to taper down some of the feeds, two plain oh waterings and one feed this week.
