The solstice. Here we go! I hope to start seeing some action soon and pulling out males. I have my hunches, but haven't confirmed any pollen sacks. The plants got over watered so I have laid off the watering for now. I will be preparing my last transplants soon so I modified pot size to show 30 gallon. So far so good. No changes yet. Considering LST for the 4 plants growing together. I indicated weak smell, but you can begin to get subtle hints of lemony/orangey aromas. Happy Growing grow-mies.

A bit of a boring update. Which is great as it means nothing bad has happened. Just keep growing. Flowers are out now and I am very happy with them both. Number 2 which I nearly binned early on is a little monster. Short and stocky she has been topped and trained for 2 colas but I think she will give a good return to effort put in. Number 1 is just my queen she Is huge and graceful. Structure is on point and apart from a light defoliation she just has water and environmental happines. Space is an issue as I did not want her to be as wide as she has become but first world troubles really. I don't expect sympathy for my plant being too big..😂 Thanks for stopping by Happy growing Stay safe😷 Sorry for the colour accuracy in the pictures. Didn't realize that it's been 4 weeks since I was on here last. Not sure if I over watered, nute burn or a deficiency but I am having a problem with my leaves going yellow and crunchy. I just gave straight RO water for a flush.

Going to add more pics when the light turns back on, don't wanna stress her out and risk herm'ing with light leaks (if that's even true better not to risk it). She's stretching like CRAZY nice internodal spacing I prefer them a bit more spaced out, not too far apart but I think it makes room for chunkers. But not too close together, so much so to risk mold, butrot, or mold issues. This is the perfect medium. Absolutely cannot wait to see how the buds look. Everything appears to be Female in thee grow aswell super happy about that.

As you can see now I am batteling crazy hot temperatures. She is already crazy sticky and has this typical Guava smell. Strwaberry with Pear. I am proud of this plant which has been moved around all over the place and she still will give me a nice yield of yummy Nuggets.

No me pude estar de hacer una nueva poda de bajos, tercer y cuarto nudo a todas. Sigo batallando contra la araña roja :-( No hay manera de deshacerme de ella al 100% y cuando me sube un poco las temperaturas vuelven a salir. También podria haber ayudado porque programé mal el temporizador del ventilador hace un par de dias y estubo parado por la noche y coincidió también durante unas horitas mientras aun estaba encendido el ATS. , esas horas la temp habria subido hasta los 29 -30ªC. Volví a aplicarles otra con Solabiol por segunda vez, por arriba y por el en envés de las hojas , todo bién mojado. Como se puede ver en alguna fofto del seguimiento, en la semana 7 por ejemplo, antes tenia un tablón de madera con muchos abujeros para facilitar que suba el calorcito de los calefactores pero no las tenia todas al ser madera, me temo que al ser madera era más difícil de desinfectar bién el armario y obté por poner unos soportes elevadores metálicos con sus abujeritos. Creo que empiezo a estar enamorado del ATSPro , deberia esperar a que termine la flora para no tirar cohetes si pero por lo que voy viendo me está ganado mucho. Llevaba tiempo cultivando con COBs , anteriormente con LEC y anteriormente al LEC con PHS y esto es en diferencia lo más cómodo y que mejor reparte la luz y por lo que voy observando una mejor o mayor penetración lumíca , creo que esta iluminaria me permitirá que los cogollos arranquen de más abajo. toquemos madera. Esta semana empecé con el Delta 9 en el riego, las veces anteriores habian sido via foliar. terminada la semana creo que ya podemos asegurar que variedad es más vigorosa y cual predomina más el feno índico. Como puede observarse las Animal cokies ganan en altura con una distancia internudal mayor. Las OgKush todo al contrario, bajitas y una distancia internudal menor. Por lo que hace a la altura de las plantas las OGK rondarian entre los 70 ctms y las más altas que vendrian a ser la Animal C unos 90ctms. áprox.

A very sunny week that made the plants double in size and grow healthier. I didn't water once this week and the plants are good with it, thanks to @MadeInGermany. Pre-flowering stage has started this week and each day I can see more and more pistils. As I expect the plants to stretch the following 2/3 weeks, I thought some little training would help. So I taped a couple leaves downwards in each plant-the ones that blocked sunlight from sidebranches, that will be bud sites in the future-.

Great week! Explosive growth was the theme, and over the past 3 days they've gained 4 inches. I was inspired by a few growers on here to do more lst this round, we will see if it pays off or not. Finicky is still doing very well, I would say she's outpacing the other plant at this point. Started my bloom nutrients, and began to wean them off the veg nutes. There are plenty of nodes for buds, but a lot of them haven't shot up yet like some of the main stalks. The right plant was looking a little droopy this morning, realized they were probably an inch too close to the light. Hoping to get another week of stretch out of them, but I could see them shifting into bud production mode soon. Excited to see what's coming up over the next few weeks, stay tuned ladies and gentlemen!

Smooth sailing on this batch deep into flower! Were sitting at 77 days today and they are looking fantastic! Steady feeding flora bloom and flora micro. Also giving them 5ml/gal of advanced big bud. These ladies are FROSTY! Cannot wait till these ladies wrap it up! These cheese are STINKY. Nice small, compact stature but they look fantastic. I have 5 of these girls going and I forsee around 1.75 ounces per plant. Solid little grow.

My homework. Rubisco regeneration is intrinsically linked to nitrogen supply because Rubisco is a major sink for nitrogen in plants, typically accounting for 15% to over 25% of total leaf nitrogen. The regeneration phase itself consumes nitrogen through the synthesis of the Rubisco enzyme and associated proteins (like Rubisco activase), and overall nitrogen status heavily influences the efficiency of RuBP regeneration.Structural Component: Nitrogen is an essential building block for all proteins, and the sheer abundance of the Rubisco protein makes it the single largest storage of nitrogen in the leaf. Synthesis and Activity: Adequate nitrogen supply is crucial for the synthesis and maintenance of sufficient Rubisco enzyme and Rubisco activase (Rca), the regulatory protein responsible for maintaining Rubisco's active state. Nitrogen deficiency leads to a decrease in the content and activity of both Rubisco and Rca, which in turn limits the maximum carboxylation rate, Vmax, and the rate of RuBP regeneration Jmax, thus reducing overall photosynthetic capacity. Nitrogen Storage and Remobilization: Rubisco can act as a temporary nitrogen storage protein, which is degraded to remobilize nitrogen to other growing parts of the plant, especially under conditions of nitrogen deficiency or senescence. Nitrogen Use Efficiency (NUE): The allocation of nitrogen to Rubisco is a key determinant of a plant's photosynthetic nitrogen use efficiency (PNUE). In high-nitrogen conditions, plants may accumulate a surplus of Rubisco, which may not be fully activated, leading to a lower PNUE. Optimizing the amount and activity of Rubisco relative to nitrogen availability is a target for improving crop NUE. Photorespiration and Nitrogen Metabolism: Nitrogen metabolism is also linked to the photorespiration pathway (which competes with carboxylation at the Rubisco active site), particularly in the reassimilation of ammonia released during the process. To increase RuBisCO regeneration, which refers to the process of forming the CO2 acceptor molecule Ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate (RuBP) during photosynthesis, the primary methods involve optimizing the levels and activity of Rubisco activase (Rca) and enhancing the performance of other Calvin-Benson-Bassham (CBB) cycle enzymes. Biochemical and Environmental Approaches: Optimize Rubisco Activase (Rca) activity: Rca is a crucial chaperone protein that removes inhibitory sugar phosphates, such as CA1P (2-carboxy-D-arabinitol 1-phosphate), from the Rubisco active site, thus maintaining its catalytic competence. •Ensure optimal light conditions: Rca is light-activated via the chloroplast's redox status. Adequate light intensity ensures Rca can effectively maintain Rubisco in its active, carbamylated state. •Maintain optimal temperature: Rca is highly temperature-sensitive and can become unstable at moderately high temperatures (e.g., above 35°C/95F° in many C3 plants), which decreases its ability to activate Rubisco. Maintaining temperatures within the optimal range for a specific plant species is important. •Optimize Mg2+ concentration: Mg2+ is a key cofactor for both Rubisco carbamylation and Rca activity. In the light, Mg2+ concentration in the chloroplast stroma increases, promoting activation. •Manage ATP/ADP ratio: Rca activity depends on ATP hydrolysis and is inhibited by ADP. Conditions that maintain a high ATP/ADP ratio in the chloroplast stroma favor Rca activity. Enhance Calvin-Benson-Bassham (CBB) cycle enzyme activity: The overall rate of RuBP regeneration can be limited by other enzymes in the cycle. •Increase SBPase activity: Sedoheptulose-1,7-bisphosphatase (SBPase) is a key regulatory enzyme in the regeneration pathway, and increasing its activity can enhance RuBP regeneration and overall photosynthesis. •Optimize other enzymes: Overexpression of other CBB cycle enzymes such as fructose-1,6-bisphosphate aldolase (FBA) and triose phosphate isomerase (TPI) can also help to balance the metabolic flux and improve RuBP regeneration capacity. Magnesium ions, Mg2+, are specifically required for Rubisco activation because the cation plays a critical structural and chemical role in forming the active site: A specific lysine residue in the active site must be carbamylated by a CO2 molecule to activate the enzyme. The resulting negatively charged carbamyl group then facilitates the binding of the positively charged Mg2+ion. While other divalent metal ions like Mn2+ can bind to Rubisco, they alter the enzyme's substrate specificity and lead to dramatically lower activity or a higher rate of the non-productive oxygenation reaction compared to Mg2+, making them biologically unfavorable in the context of efficient carbon fixation. The concentration of Mg2+ in the chloroplast stroma naturally increases in the light due to ion potential balancing during ATP synthesis, providing a physiological mechanism to ensure the enzyme is activated when photosynthesis is possible. At the center of the porphyrin ring, nestled within its nitrogen atoms, is a Magnesium ion (Mg2+). This magnesium ion is crucial for the function of chlorophyll, and without it, the pigment cannot effectively capture and transfer light energy. Mg acts as a cofactor: Mg2+ binds to Rubisco after an activator CO2 molecule, forming a catalytically competent complex (Enzyme-CO2-Mg2+). High light + CO2) increases demand: Under high light (60 DLI is a very high intensity, potentially saturating) and high CO2, the plant's capacity for photosynthesis is high, and thus the demand for activated Rubisco and the necessary Mg2+ cofactor increases. Mg deficiency becomes limiting: If Mg2+ is deficient under these conditions, the higher levels of Rubisco and Rubisco activase produced cannot be fully activated, leading to lower photosynthetic rates and potential photo-oxidative damage. Optimal range: Studies show that adequate Mg2+ application can enhance Rubisco activation and stabilize net photosynthetic rates under stress conditions, but the required concentration is specific to the experimental setup. Monitoring is key: The most effective approach in a controlled environment is to monitor the plant's physiological responses e.g., leaf Mg2+ concentration, photosynthetic rate, Rubisco activation state, and adjust the nutrient solution/fertilizer to maintain adequate levels, rather than supplementing a fixed "extra" amount. In practice, this means ensuring that Mg2+ is not a limiting factor in the plant's standard nutrient solution when pushing the limits with high light and CO2. Applying Mg2+ through foliar spray is beneficial to Rubisco regeneration, particularly in alleviating the negative effects of magnesium (Mg) deficiency and high-temperature stress (HTS). While Mg can be leached from soil, within the plant it is considered a mobile nutrient, particularly in the phloem. Foliar-applied Mg is quickly absorbed by the leaves and can be translocate to other plant parts, including new growth and sink organs. Foliar application of: NATURES VERY OWN MgSO4 @ 15.0g L-1 in a spray bottle. Foliar sprays are often recommended as a rapid rescue measure for existing deficiencies or as a supplement during critical growth stages, when demand for Mg is high. Application in the early morning or late evening can improve absorption and prevent leaf burn. The starting point [of creativity] is curiosity: pondering why the default exists in the first place. We’re driven to question defaults when we experience vuja de, the opposite of déjà vu. Déjà vu occurs when we encounter something new, but it feels as if we’ve seen it before. Vuja de is the reverse—we face something familiar, but we see it with a fresh perspective that enables us to gain new insights into old problems.

Hey Grow Diaries fam, Welcome back to another update on our PCR adventure! We're at Week 9, which marks Week 4 of the flowering stage, and things are getting exciting! Overview The PCRs are flourishing, and the transformation is nothing short of spectacular. The tent is buzzing with energy, and every day brings new developments. The buds are swelling beautifully, and the trichome production is off the charts. This week has been all about maintaining optimal conditions and ensuring our ladies get everything they need to reach their full potential. Environment and Conditions Tent: 3x3, cleaned and prepped from top to bottom to ensure a pristine environment. Lighting: ViparSpectra P2000, delivering a perfect spectrum for this stage of growth. The balanced PAR output and efficient energy use keep our girls happy and thriving. Watering: TDS at 410, pH 5.8, and water temperature at 21°C. This ensures the nutrients are perfectly balanced and readily available. Nutrient Regimen We’ve kept up with our Aptus Holland feeding schedule, and it's paying off big time. Here's the current mix: Nutritional Spray: Aptus Holland NutriSpray to keep those leaves lush and healthy. TopBooster: Replaced StartBooster with TopBooster to promote flower development. P-Boost: Added to the mix for that extra phosphorus kick, crucial for blooming. K-Boost: a must for them to go fat as we like. The results speak for themselves – lush green foliage and robust bud formation. Defoliation At the end of this week, we performed a mass defoliation. It's always a bit nerve-wracking, but the results are worth it. Removing excess leaves ensures better light penetration and airflow, reducing the risk of mold and pests. Plus, it allows the plant to focus its energy on bud production. And let me tell you, after the defoliation, the PCRs look sexy as ever with their long legs and sculpted structure! Clones Update Our clones are thriving, showing the longest and whitest roots I've ever seen. We treated them with a water mix that included K-Boost and Mycor Mix at 1 gram per liter. This combination has worked wonders, promoting vigorous root development and overall plant health. Reflections This week has been a testament to the importance of a clean environment and precise nutrient management. The PCRs are responding exceptionally well, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with their progress. We're well on our way to an incredible harvest, and I can't wait to see these beauties in full bloom. 💙 Project Blue Tent – Week 7 Blue Waffle F1 – Pheno A (Folder 13A) Welcome back everyone to another week inside Project Blue Tent! 💙🌱 If you're new here, welcome aboard. This project is all about exploring the incredible Blue Waffle F1 genetics from Zamnesia while putting the complete growing ecosystem through its paces. Rather than documenting four plants as a single diary, each phenotype receives its own individual journey from seed to harvest. They share the same tent, the same environment, the same nutrition, the same irrigation and the same lighting. And yet... They still manage to tell four completely different stories. As I always like to say: We're not just growing plants. We're getting to know them. ──────────────────────── 🌿 Week Seven – The Final Cleanup This week feels like a milestone. The SCROG has done its job. The canopy is full. The plants have established their structure. And now it's time to prepare everything for the next chapter... Flowering. 🌸 Plant A is looking absolutely beautiful at the moment. Her foliage has developed into the rich, healthy green I've been hoping to see, and the overall structure is remarkably balanced. After several weeks of gently guiding branches underneath the SCROG, we've managed to create a canopy that is surprisingly even from one side of the tent to the other. At approximately 60 cm, she's sitting comfortably within the space we've created for her. And although she could certainly continue growing vegetatively, I don't want to simply keep filling the tent with more and more foliage. At some point, you have to stop building the canopy... ...and start preparing it for what comes next. That's exactly where we are now. ──────────────────────── 🕸️ From SCROG to Flower Over the last couple of weeks, the SCROG has completely changed the way these plants occupy the tent. Instead of allowing individual branches to dominate vertically, we've been gently guiding them horizontally beneath the screen. The result is exactly what we were looking for: A broad, relatively even canopy with many developing tops sharing the available light. SCROG isn't about forcing a plant into submission. It's about working with its natural growth and redistributing that growth across the available space. And looking at the tent now... I'd say the mission has been accomplished. The screen is filled. The plants have claimed their territory. Now we need to create the best possible starting point for flowering. Which brings us to this week's main job. ──────────────────────── ✂️ Defoliation – Cleaning Today for a Better Tomorrow This week we're performing a deep, purposeful defoliation across the canopy. For anyone unfamiliar with the technique, defoliation simply means selectively removing leaves from the plant. But it's important to understand what defoliation isn't. It isn't stripping a plant bare. It isn't removing leaves just because they're in the way. And it isn't something that should automatically be performed every week. The purpose is to improve the structure we've already created. After several weeks of SCROG training, there is now a tremendous amount of foliage packed into a relatively small space. While those leaves are essential during vegetative growth, too much overlapping foliage can eventually create unnecessary congestion inside the canopy. So we're removing selected leaves that are: • Blocking developing growth • Creating unnecessary overlap • Restricting airflow through the interior • Shading lower areas that we've decided to retain • Or simply no longer contributing enough to justify occupying that space The goal isn't to make the plant look empty. The goal is to make the plant efficient. ──────────────────────── 🌬️ Why Defoliate Before Flower? Timing is everything. We're doing this now because the plants are still in vegetative growth and have time to recover before we ask them to transition into flowering. Defoliation is a form of stress. Even when performed carefully, removing a significant amount of foliage temporarily changes the plant's balance between its leaves, roots and growing points. That's why I don't want to perform a major cleanup deep into flowering unless there's a very good reason. Right now, the plants can take that short period of recovery while they're still operating under an 18/6 light schedule and actively producing new vegetative growth. After the cleanup, we'll give them time to recover, settle and rebuild their foliage before flipping the lights. The idea is simple: Stress now. Recover now. Flower later. Rather than asking the plant to simultaneously deal with a major transition into flowering and a significant amount of pruning, we're separating those events. One step at a time. That's especially important in a project like this, where I'm trying to observe the plants rather than simply push them as hard as possible. ──────────────────────── 🌿 Plant A – Looking Better Than Ever Plant A continues to impress me. The first thing that stands out this week is the colour. That slightly lighter appearance we saw earlier in the grow has completely disappeared. The foliage is now displaying that rich, healthy green that tells me the current nutritional strategy is working extremely well. She's vigorous without looking excessive. Healthy without showing signs of nutritional stress. And most importantly... She's balanced. Her branches have responded beautifully to the SCROG, and the canopy has developed into a very usable structure for flowering. This is one of those moments where you can look at the plant and realize that the weeks of small adjustments have finally come together. The topping. The recovery. The daily SCROG work. The irrigation. The feeding. The environmental stability. None of those things created this canopy by themselves. They're all pieces of the same puzzle. ──────────────────────── 💧 The Drip Irrigation System One of the things I have become particularly impressed with during this project is the automatic drip irrigation system. It's working beautifully. With the plants now drinking more consistently and the canopy becoming increasingly demanding, having a reliable irrigation system makes maintaining uniformity across the tent considerably easier. Each plant is currently receiving approximately 1.2 L per 24 hours, delivered through the drip system. And the plants are clearly enjoying the consistency. One of the advantages of automated irrigation isn't simply saving time. It's repeatability. Instead of relying on every watering being manually performed at exactly the same interval and volume, the system provides a much more consistent routine for the plants. That consistency becomes increasingly valuable as the root systems develop and the plants transition toward flowering. So far... The system is doing exactly what I wanted it to do. And honestly, watching four plants respond so uniformly to the same irrigation strategy has been one of the most satisfying parts of this project. ──────────────────────── 🥥 Feeding Program The feeding recipe remains unchanged this week. And for now, I don't see a reason to interfere with something that is clearly working. Current nutrition: • Plagron Hydro A — 1.9 ml/L • Plagron Hydro B — 1.9 ml/L • Plagron Hydro Roots — 1 ml/L Current EC remains approximately: 1.92 mS/cm with the solution maintained around 18°C and pH at 5.8. The plants are showing excellent colour, strong growth and healthy leaf development, so I'm perfectly comfortable maintaining the current recipe for now. We may increase the nutritional strength next week depending on how the plants respond after defoliation and as flowering approaches. But that's exactly why I don't like changing several variables at once. First, we observe. Then we adjust. The plants will tell us what they need. ──────────────────────── 🌡️ Environmental Conditions The Blue Tent continues to remain remarkably stable. This week's average conditions were: • 🌡️ Day Temperature: 28°C • 🌙 Night Temperature: 27°C • 💧 Relative Humidity: 65% • 🥥 Substrate Temperature: 24°C • 💦 Nutrient Solution: 18°C • ⚗️ pH: 5.8 • ⚡ EC: 1.92 mS/cm • 💨 CO₂: approximately 450 ppm • 💡 Light Schedule: 18/6 • 💧 Irrigation: approximately 1.2 L/plant/24h • ? Pot Size: 8 L • 📏 Plant Height: approximately 60 cm The plants are continuing to respond beautifully to these conditions. The root-zone temperature remains particularly stable, irrigation is consistent, and the canopy has enough air movement to support vigorous transpiration. As we move toward flowering, environmental management will become even more important. The room we've created now needs to support not only vegetative growth... ...but the much denser flowering structure that is coming next. ──────────────────────── 🌬️ Why the Cleanup Matters One of my main objectives with this defoliation isn't simply aesthetics. It's airflow. When four vigorous plants completely fill a 100 × 100 × 200 cm tent, the amount of foliage inside that space becomes considerable. From above, everything can look absolutely perfect. But underneath that beautiful canopy is another story. Leaves overlap. Branches cross. Interior spaces become crowded. Air needs to move through all of that. By selectively removing excess foliage now, we're opening those internal spaces before flowering begins. That gives us a cleaner structure going forward and makes it much easier to inspect the plants, maintain airflow and monitor the developing flowers. This is also one reason I'm much happier doing the major cleanup before the flip rather than waiting until the plants are deep into flowering. Once flowering begins, the priorities change. I want the plant concentrating its energy on developing flowers rather than repeatedly recovering from major structural work. So we're preparing the room now. Clean canopy. Good airflow. Healthy structure. Then... Flower. ──────────────────────── 🧠 Defoliation Isn't About Removing Leaves One of the biggest misconceptions surrounding defoliation is that more leaves automatically means a worse plant. That's not true. Leaves are incredibly important. They're the plant's solar panels. They capture light and help drive photosynthesis. So the objective should never be: "How many leaves can I remove?" The better question is: "Which leaves are no longer contributing enough to justify occupying this space?" That's the philosophy I'm following here. We're not trying to weaken the plant. We're trying to improve the relationship between: Light → canopy → airflow → growing sites. And because we've already spent weeks creating the structure with SCROG, this cleanup is simply the final refinement of that work. ──────────────────────── 🌱 Plant A's Personality Every phenotype continues to develop its own personality, even when all four plants are living under almost identical conditions. Plant A has consistently been one of the more balanced girls in the tent. She doesn't appear interested in becoming the biggest plant in the room. Instead, she seems much more interested in becoming an efficient one. Her growth is structured. Her canopy is balanced. Her foliage is beautiful. And after weeks of training, she has settled into the SCROG extremely well. Now, after today's cleanup, she looks almost like a different plant. Less crowded. More open. More organized. And ready for the next chapter. That's the part of growing I really enjoy. You spend weeks slowly building something... Then one day you step back and suddenly realize: It all came together. ──────────────────────── 👀 Looking Ahead The next few days will be about one thing: Recovery. No unnecessary training. No chasing perfection. No constantly changing the environment. Just observation. The plants have been through topping. They've been trained beneath the SCROG. They've filled the canopy. And now they've received their final major vegetative cleanup. So we're going to let them breathe. Let them recover. Let them continue growing. And then, assuming everything continues to look as good as it does today... we flip the Blue Tent into flower. 🌸 This is the point where all those weeks of preparation finally start paying off. The screen is full. The structure is ready. The plants are healthy. Now we just need to let them do what plants do best.
