Week 20 Journal Update: Durban Poison Crew * Current Stage & Vigor: The four photoperiod Durban Poison plants continue to thrive in their vegetative stage on the deck, displaying lush canopy growth supported by the custom bamboo trellis and lattice net system. * Setup & Mobility: Housed in 25-gallon fabric bags positioned on wheeled moving dollies, the crew maintains optimal mobility on the deck layout. * Hydration & Maintenance: The automated irrigation manifold continues to supply well water smoothly via hand-drilled halo rings, keeping the soil consistently hydrated alongside the mobile perimeter of African marigolds. * Outlook: The plants are showing robust health and structure as they prepare for upcoming soil top-dressing with organic worm castings and high-phosphorus guano heading into August.

Welcome ladies and gentlemen at veg week 6, After a full recovery week we continued with the trainings. This week a good defoliation was made and took all of the unwanted growth to the height of the third node on day 38. After 2 days the ladies bounced back with a vigorous top growth, was lovely to see. 🌞👨‍🌾🏻 Watered twice this week with de chlorinated tap water and nutrients, 2,5 litre each plant. I am running the TS3000 at 45-50% 30 cm above the canopy. The rest of the week just tied down the stems that extended higher than the net. This was my first outdoor autoflower experience. Very happy with the results. Buds could have had a better taste in my opinion but that is just preference.

A few leaves were starting to twist believe due to calcium deficiency seems to have stopped after adding calimagic. Hopefully will be able to start my manifold for the mainlining process by the end of the week.

Candy is starting her second week of flowering. She is doing well and had a solution change today to flowering nutrition. She will get more aggressive defoliation come next week. Possibly some hst. This week marked the full transition into active bud development 🌸 The plant has completely finished stretching and is now focusing its energy on building buds and increasing resin production. • Final height stabilized around ~100 cm • Stretch fully completed • Energy directed into bud growth and trichome production Bud sites are now clearly developing across the canopy, though they are still in the early stages of stacking. Trichome production is steadily increasing, with a light frosty layer already visible on the sugar leaves ✨ Canopy management was adjusted this week. After a light defoliation in the previous week, additional leaves were removed and the plant was lollipopped to clean up the lower growth ✂️ Toward the end of the week, branches were gently spread apart using wires to improve light penetration. This significantly improved light distribution: • Each main branch now receives ~800+ PPFD ☀️ • Reduced shading compared to previous weeks Light intensity remains high and well tolerated, with light praying still visible, indicating the plant is comfortable under the current setup. Water demand remains high: • ~4L every 2 days based on pot weight 💧 Feeding this week: • 1x Orgatrex • 1x Greenhouse Bio Enhancer • Otherwise water + BioBizz CalMag Environment: • ~24,8°C temperature • 47–50% RH 🌡️ Aroma has developed noticeably this week. The plant now produces a very sweet, jam-like scent, something unique and very pleasant, standing out compared to previous runs 🍓 Overall this week marks the beginning of real bud formation, with increasing resin production, improved canopy structure, and a very promising aroma profile 🍩🔥

Seed was put in a glass of water on the 2nd of January 20:00 (8PM). Around 15h later it sunk to the bottom and I transferred it to a wet paper towel inside a zip. Around 51h later (so ~36h inside zip) the seed had not yet opened. I am a little worried, but at the same time not because I've looked up what the pro's say and some of them don't even look at the seed until after the seed has spent at least 48h inside the paper towel. I will be patient and wait for the seed to open. After the seed has opened I will be even more patient and let the root grow for a bit. I have grown 2 of these plants in my lifetime and first time was really good, second time was very bad, and the second time I planted it when the root was ~1mm long. I will not rush things this time. I will also be careful to not let the root grow too long. If I'll have it my way, then I'll be planting this baby tomorrow evening, so in a bit less than 24h from now. If I have to reschedule then it will probably be planted on the 6th of January. Worst case scenario: We have to restart with a new seed. Bless you. Update 5 Jan 2022 17:29 (05:29 PM): We have a root! The seed has opened ever so slightly and the root has grown more and more during today. I want the root to grow a tiny bit longer before I plant it. I will take another look before bedtime. Update 5 Jan 2022 20:43 (08:43 PM): Root has not grown much since the last picture, will plant tomorrow. Update 6 Jan 2022 10:05 (10:05 AM): Will plant later. Root is too short. Update 6 Jan 2022 15:00 (03:00 PM): Root is still shorter than I had in mind but my patience has ran out and I think it is still a fine length for the seed to do really good. I also have very good soil for her with claimed great amount of nutrients for seedlings. When it gets large enough I will transplant her to a 11L pot. The 11L pot has been filled with more than 11L soil. Probably around 15L. By the way, the plant has a name, her name is "Satan" but is referred to as a "she". Update 12 Jan 2022 18:00 (06:00 PM): We have a sprout! I saw the sprout some hours ago. I am sure that I planted the seed quite perfectly in the middle. However, the sprout happened very much to the side. I suspect that there was something in the soil that might blocked the sprout. So far it looks like we planted Satan on the 6th of January and we got a sprout on the 12th. I will consider Satan to be in germination stage until it grows a little more. Then I will treat it like she's in the vegetative phase. ----------------------------- SUMMARY: Day 1-21 in Satans life has been so wonderful. Not a minute goes by without me feeling euphoric about her. Every day when I wake up I go to the grow-room and tell her good morning. I hold her largest leaf between my thumb and index-fingers to hold leaf (hold hand) and we just hold leaf together for a few seconds while I admire her beauty. She is so absolutely gorgeous and kind and she is also very happy with her environment. I already have another plant in another grow-room which also is a Northern Lights and I have kept a diary of her as well, just not on growdiaries.com (everything is kept in a Word-document). This other plant is called Kim, named after Kim Jong-Un. Kim and her diary is going to be utilized as a "roadmap" for Satan, so I should know what to expect and when to expect it. I also did a few mistakes with Kim, such as water too much or let her grow with way too much nitrogen in the air. Satan will instead be the best grow I have ever done - hopefully. Day 70: The Bluedreamatic went to go big and it is all I can do to keep them happy.lol The #1 los girl is yellowing off on her top leaves but had an amendments the other day to try and address it . Could be the intense lighting still but is isn't affecting her badly so fat bud wise. #2 is getting very big mow and needed moving over to a better spot in the room for wider coverage of her budsites. #3 who was inside with the crammed in girls has some very nice fat tops on her canopy and when I look deeper into her body , can see so many developing sites too. She has been moved to a better position too now and should get 2-3 weeks to soak up some lumens. They have been put onto shogun Dragon force and boost for their finish now so let's see if they swell up as I expect they will. I am convinced that these ladies will be heavy yielders by the look of them now. They smell of fresh pineapples when disturbed too. so beautiful. at least 2 weeks to go with them I think. roll on the chubby icy buds.

Increased Buddy to 1mm p/l. Really impressed with these nutrients so far, there's been no problems or defeciences the entire grow. All plants look happy, healthy and green. This plant is at the back of the timelapses.

Went from 450w to 150w blue for a week due to heat and too much height gain. Weather got cold so I put the 450w red back in as they seem to be thickening up. Feminising was very easy on the ones I chose, I chose only three that had thicker faster flowering and more THC but will cross with the more sativa dominant ones.
