This is the third monday. The girls still look healthy, I gave blooming nutrients for the first time as the schedule suggested. The Attack of Gnats: Inside the tent there is a huge fan, which was unstable, if I tilted it too much, so I put a 20litre soil bag (with some cheap shitty soil for decorative flowers) at the base of it to make it solid. As the tent started to warm up, the soil was warm ask well. After a couple of days some gnats mysteriously appeared in the tent. First there were only two, but now there is a whole army. I bought a "special" trap for them, it came in a pear shaped plastic dispenser with some sort of "killer liquid" that will eliminate the enemy. As soon as I opened the little container with the liquid my first idea was to smell it. Surprisingly the smell was familiar, and I smelled it before in salads. I asked my girlfriend, and she immediately told me, that this killer liquid is nothing more than Apple Cider Vinegar. I searched google, and I found out, that you can make very effective gnat trap at home by using apple cider vinegar, sugar, and dish soap... This costs you almost nothing, because you can find everything at home. Learning every day.... :) Now there are only a few more gnats left, but I will kill them in the following days. 🙏 Namaste

She put on the weight very fast once she started flowering, at the harvest there was many amber trichomes at day 84. If u love kush u really have to give her a go, very loud terpines

Smell is very strong, fingers are super sticky from the slightest of touches, hoping she starts to pack on the weight for the next few weeks

Day 72: The Finale 🌿🌟 It’s finally time. My very first grow is coming to an end—at least the cultivation phase. The plant is now ready for harvest, and I can’t believe how incredible this journey has been. I never expected to enjoy the whole process so much—from nurturing the plants to watching them grow and evolve. I’m absolutely hooked and can’t wait to dive into the next steps: harvesting, drying, curing, and of course, starting a new grow soon with fresh ideas and experiments! While it may not be the largest yield, the quality of the buds speaks for itself. The time, love, and care I’ve put into this grow is visible, and I’m pretty proud of the results. I’ll admit, I was a bit impatient at times (which I think every first-timer can relate to 😅), but the experience was priceless. Here are a few interesting highlights from my trimming and harvest process: 1️⃣ Dark Phase Before Harvest Two days before harvest, I put the plant in complete darkness to encourage resin production. I'm not sure if it really made a difference, but it was worth trying! 2️⃣ Wet Trim vs. Dry Trim I decided to go for a wet trim because the buds were really dense, and I wanted to avoid any risk of mold. I’ve read that wet trimming can speed up drying and may slightly impact the quality, but this is part of the learning experience. Next time, I’ll try a dry trim for comparison! 3️⃣ Yield Update Wet, the total came in at 179 grams from my plant. Trimming took around three hours, and it was actually a lot of fun, despite the time commitment. 4️⃣ Curing Plan The buds are now hanging in the tent for about 8 days. Once dried, they’ll go into jars with Boveda Packs (62% humidity) for another 3 weeks of curing. I'll update the smoke report once they’re fully cured, but I’ve already had a sample of the same strain from a friend, and I can say it’s pretty amazing. Final Thoughts on My Grow 🌱✨ As mentioned earlier, this grow has been an absolutely incredible experience, and it has definitely set me on a path to jump right into my next grow. There were ups and downs along the way, such as over-pruning, which I believe stressed the plants a bit. Additionally, I think they could have benefited from an extra week to mature. We also faced many temperature fluctuations this summer, which impacted the plants due to external weather conditions. I'm really pleased with the quality of the buds. The quantity is okay—I can’t fully gauge it yet—but I’m sure there’s more potential to unlock. I've gained valuable experience in what worked well and what didn’t. Overall, the countless lessons learned during this grow far outweigh the few mistakes made. I'm incredibly proud of my first results! Week 6 of flower. Buds are filling out more now. Still occasional rainy days but weather is improving.

Beginning of the week, Jan20 D29 Continued LST, made an very light defoliation. Last week I've added 1tbsp of soil adifier per plants (sulfur) my PH should reduce enough to be between 6 and 6.8 Jan21 D30: re raised the light @175w, plants are happy Jan24 D33: plants are booming rapidly, topped the 2 C&C on all the main branches Jan27 D37: starting to see a little deficiency. Maybe a lockout of calcium or potassium. Tested soil ph and its around 7. Work to do. Did a slight defoliation, add 1tsbp of mineral mix 0-1-5 per plant (calmag) 1/4 cup of mykes, 1tbsp of Batguano 0-12-8 and 1tbsp of soil acidifier. Top dressed all 3 with that and watered 2L at ph 5.5... Hope I did not do too much. Will wait nx weekend to put into flower.

Week 3 (15-2 to 21-2) 15-2 Watering: None. No pictures, but i do have a timelapse from 4-2 to 15-2. I bought an Wyze V2, and i recorded all my plants growing in my pre-growing closet. Now the cam hangs in my 3x3 tent with 2 Gorilla Kush, and 2 Chemdog, so thats why this is the only timelapse i have for the Deep Candy. The Deep Candy is in a separate tent, maybe i will buy an extra cam for this tent, so i can shoot timelapses for all my grows. Let me know if u like it or not! 16-2 Watering: 94 ml. 17-2 Watering: None. 18-2 Watering: None. 19-2 Watering: 133 ml. 20-2 Watering: None. As you can see, since 19-2 the leaves are showing some problems. Maybe she is just hungry, as there are already 3 weeks past, and the Plagron Lightmix has enough nutes in it for approx 3 weeks. I see some problems on my other plants aswell, so maybe something with the feed or the PH is off. Or maybe she dont like the Silica i gave her while she is still in her 0.5L pot. We will see how it goes. 21-2 Watering: 60 ml.

It’s now showing pistils pretty well, and I got some critical peyote from Barney farms In a napkin right now There is a little burnt tip on fan leaves I think too much nitrogen since it’s in the big pot and the leaves are dark green. But looks good happy I picked the internodes during preflower too

I realised that the roots were too cold and put Styrofoam under the pots. In addition, a plant has a positive mutation. A branch has become 2.

Afghan was a beaut and she would have stayed up longer if the rain had let up. The denseness of her buds is what we admire although it is also why she started to rot. The scent of her is strong and mouth watering. Overall we would grow her again outdoors, this was a strange year with the weather and it is unfortunate but we are quite sure every strain would rot just the same. Hopefully next year has a better balance but that is the way it grows outdoors. As for curing, it was not typical for us at all. First she was washed but Afghan was not trimmed nor was she properly managed, she hung for six days and went in a paper bag for moisture redistribution way to late. Aside from that we had to use a triple beam for an estimated weight and we were unable to get a wet weight so please take the number and outcome lightly. Bone dry does not mean she won’t be enjoyed, she will be made into hash and or edibles.
