fifth week flower, the ladies are getting really tasty and developing well!!

Happy New Year!!! Over the past week I did some HST bending on my photos and cut down 2 of the 3 Blackberry’s. The branches are starting to recover and straighten out after the HST now. I still have some issues with pale leaves and a few spots here and there. I’m going to try adding some Dolomite Lime with the next watering and think that should help with the paleness. I’m also going to up the amount of CalMag and Mammoth P to see if that helps with the spotting. I’m not sure if I should see the spotted leaves recover or if the spots will remain. I suspect the spots will remain on the existing leaves regardless of what I do at this point, but hopefully no new spotting will develop. The lights went off before I was done taking pics, so some pics will look a little different. The pics with the lights on I had to color correct, they still look a little more on the yellow side than in reality, but much closer to reality than the pre-color corrected versions. Once the lights went off I turned the flash on for my camera, those pics did not need any color correction. You can see the differences in the pics of all plants, the first 2 are color corrected with the lights on, the last 2 are taken with a flash and no color correction. Also all close up pics of the Critical+ are with the lights off and flash on. I read several books on cannabis over the past few days, some good, some not so much. One that I liked was “Marijuana Cultivation Reconsidered: The Science and Techniques For Huge Indoor Yields” by Read Spear. This book is available on Amzon’s Kindle Unlimited service, which costs $9.99/month, but they offer a free 30 day trial (which is what I’m using at the moment). Reed’s book is broken down into 3 sections, the first and third go fairly deep into the science behind growing, he does a pretty good job at breaking it down in easy to understand terms, but I had to read several sections 2 or 3 times to really get it (or just move on with as much understanding as I could digest). The second section is the nuts and bolts of growing. Most was a review but there were several topics he touched on I hadn’t thought of in a while. And again its well written. He also offers the section only in a separate book called “Small Spaces, Big Yields”. If you are not interested in going deeper into the science behind growing, “Small Spaces, Big Yields” is what I would recommend (if interested in reading books on cannabis). I took some notes while reading and I’m going to add some of these notes in my dairy updates over the next few weeks. This week I’m going to include a note on electrical, this should be a fairly basic concept, but it is super important IMO… “Electrical Items In a sealed grow room or in a tent, you will have water pooling on the floor from time to time. There is no avoiding this. Mop it up when you see it, and never put your electrical gear directly on the floor. Never. Not even for a moment. In fact, let me stress this point in bold capital letters. ALL ELECTRICAL GEAR MUST BE MOUNTED SECURELY ON A WALL OR TENT POLE.” -Read Spear I’ll add more did bits like this in my diaries over the upcoming weeks. If anyone has any good book recommendations please let me know in the comments. I’m looking for books that might not be as popular as the ones by Jorge Cervantes or Ed Rosenthal (I’ve read those). I did just order “True Living Organics” by The Rev which I’m looking forward to reading. But I’m looking for more. I really want to step it up and learn as much as possible. Another week has flown by! The girls are doing great, cruise control this week as I have just been monitoring RH and temps. Trying to keep them as low as possible, I’ve been getting as low as 74 during the day and 68 at night. I finally took a look a look at the trichomes with my jewellers loop, lots of cloudy, and a few amber around the leaves and top colas, but still lot’s of clear trichomes. I’ve ordered myself a wireless/usb digital microscope to assist with the process, and looks like it will be here just in time to determine harvest day. 😎🎄 I started by eliminating the nutrients at the beginning of the week. I typically allow for 3-4 pure water feeds before I harvest, and at the rate they have been drinking, this should be enough to get through the 7-12 days they have before harvest. I don’t flush, but rather “rinse” with normal water amounts, allowing the plant to use up the remaining nutrients in the soil. This also allows me to recover most of the soil from my grows and reuse ♻️ with other soil mix. There has been great debate and a great deal of bro science out there for many years, but the recent studies suggest there is no difference in end result when it comes to flushing or using nutrients right until the end, if a proper dry and cure is performed. Well here goes nothing! Only one seed so this is do or die lol, but at least it looks quite healthy. Going to start it indoors until it sprouts, it's only 45°F for a high during the day and 29°F for a low at night so there's no way to get her outside today. I have a 10ft x 10ft pop up greenhouse that I plan to have functional by the weekend. Update*- Smoothie sprouted on 4/22 yesterday and is looking like a healthy girl. So stoked!

Things went as normal this week. I didn't water or feed the girls since i have been sick lately, all I did was push them back under their net. Sometimes their stems pop/snap but i don't worry anymore, the next day they recover nicely. (its more like an internal pop i hear) The weather isn't as sunny as I would like yet, but i can't do much about that. With all the foliage bug hunting has been reel tough, although I found a baby cutworm witch i quickly eliminated. slow and steady the girls keep climbing I just manage the light space 4 them. I only go in on the weekends 4 their training and that seems to be good enough. The girls in the back are just exploding, compared to the others. I dont know if maybe some good soil back there or just some magic beans. Maybe because they are closest to their nightlight?

The plan is simple... let her grow inside under a 19/5 light schedule until the nighttime temperatures are in the mid 50's℉, which shouldn't be long. After which, she'll be moved outside and transplanted into the soil which I have already setup and inoculated with beneficial microbes from BioTabs and slow release dry amendments from Gaia Green. Once she's established herself outside she'll be given periodic top dressings of Gaia Green 4-4-4 and 2-8-4 along with worm castings and Compost Tea's. Her grow area is approx. 5'x5' and I have posts and a trellis net set up already for when she gets bigger to aid in training her. Our weather is beautiful now with daytime high temp's in the 80's F without a lot of rain so I am watering her daily at sundown with approximately 5-7g of well water. 6/18- I gave the Papaya Sherbet photoperiod a good watering today at sundown via the garden hose with straight well water. 6/20- I watered today and also did a little canopy maintenance, removing some leaves down low, along with some small shoots that would only sap energy better used elsewhere on the plant in the future. 6/22- Six weeks from seed and I have a sneaking suspicion that the FastBuds PApaya Sherbet photoperiod is getting ready to take off in a big way! I haven't trimmed or dried the buds yet so I am looking forward to see the end results and updating my diary soon. Update: 240g of dry bud weight, not bad at all. I think the light helped a lot and should the issue of lockout not occurred half way through the growth then I'd reckon it would have been a lot bigger. But for those who love the details, the full spread of pictures is right here, as always. t this point in flower, the girls are not eating — they’re just drinking clean water with nothing but System Clean in the reservoir, at a rate of 0.25 ml per liter. This is part of a gentle, prolonged flush phase I like to implement, giving the plants a chance to metabolize and fade naturally. The goal is to promote clean, vibrant flowers that finish with optimal expression, without rushing the process. No forced flush, just time and care. Lighting-wise, the spectrum has been tuned with precision — we’re currently running 40% on the whites, with reds and UVs at 100% to drive trichome development, resin production, and color expression in these final days. The plants are loving it — they’re soaking in the deeper wavelengths that signal the end of their life cycle and responding with a final push of energy. And yes — we’ve been running 11 hours of light and 13 hours of darkness from the very start of flower. It’s not the usual 12/12, and it comes with its pros and cons. First week of flowers these ladies are looking amazing

🏆 Eternity Grow Cup 2025: Plagron and Zamnesia 🏆 Strain: Runtz - Zamnesia Seeds Our girl is doing great! It's day 43 since sprouting, and 13 days since we switched the light to 12/12. She's grown significantly, with many branches stretching upwards. Given how many there were, I decided to trim her and removed about 10 thick and thin branches. I’m not sure how this will affect her, but I'm hoping to get fewer colas, though thicker and denser ones. We don’t waste anything from the pruning. The leaves that we cut off are frozen, then crushed in a blender. We mix the resulting mass with water, let it sit, and then water the plant with this solution. Additionally, we finely chop the leaves and mix them into the top layer of the soil, a practice called mulching. This way, we recycle everything and make full use of the plant material.
