📝 Notes - I am still not getting the vertical growth that I want before I flip, so I changed my light cycle to 18/6 and will be doing another defoliation and pruning of a few side branching - remember I am looking for tall plants with little horizontal growth.

🗓️04.20.24 Today, I flipped the ladies into flower. I Have let them veg out as much as I feel the grow space can handle. I am sure there will be a bit of pruning and super cropping in the near future. These girls will grow untouched other than the 2x daily fertilization, but I am switching out the Horti-Grow with the Horti-Bloom, feeding at Hort-Bloom @ 2.7 GRMS Per Gal and Horti-Cal @ 2.5 GRMS Per Gal.

I had to break the whole grow down and put it in the new tent. Did some revising of the overall layout of the tent. Bought some pot stands so the bottoms of the smart pots could get more air. They have the tendency to get boggy at the bottoms despite a layer of perlite at the bottom.
I dropped the light about 10 inches and I scorched one of the fan leaves on the GG#4. I raised the light back to the max height after this occurred and the plant compensated well. To counter the slightly high temps I put an oscillating fan in the tent and used the other fans to displace hot air up towards the exhaust.
The Green Crack seems like it lagged slightly behind the GG#4. I suspect this is due to root propagation, it seems like it is ready to explode.
I'm giving consideration to topping the GG#4. Will start LST soon. It is on its 3rd to 4th node and is bushy as hell.

Added pump & timer, still feeding a 3.0 EC the nutrients are in Grams not ML I hope this didn’t confuse people. They’re still going strong. Please stay on the look out as I will be doing a Black Velvet journal and that’ll be one to watch!!!!

Tuned them to flower. New chiller still not here but with lower outside temps I'm.keeping system at a steady 18c 3 days of complete darkness. Hopefully it all turns out good..next time definalty going from seed and not clones

Our Tangerine Dream by Zamnesia is a strong piece because? I come from an area where mandarins reign supreme, when I was a kid the peels ended up covering the numbers of the first rudimentary bingo games. We all have a clear smell of mandarin in our nose and olfactory memory and we distinguish it from other citrus fruits, at least lemon.
I had a Jet Fuel that was strong with mandarin and my friends all went crazy for example, "you can feel the peel" they tell me. It's like this guys when a strain is good ok it has to be strong, but the terpene profile reigns supreme. It has to smell, remind you of something, have an olfactory configuration is essential in today's cannabis and those citrus ones are the most recognizable but the nuances between the citrus ones are pure love.
Remember that we are growing a plant worked with the indicated techniques and another left to grow without pruning to preserve its speed; in the previous/next diary you will find the other plant of the same variety.
In this diary we find it left to grow straight, we did a bit of LST on the lower branches but slowly we eliminated them. This week we are emphasizing the fact that when you grow the plant like this, but it is valid in general, you should send into bloom only the part of the plant that actually sees a sufficient amount of light that you must learn to evaluate. Everything that is below should be cleaned simply because it will weaken the production above.
Better not to waste energy on the plant to produce weak branches and wake flowers
Comparison is the salt of experience, so the plant in the other diary will be treated very differently, go and see it to compare.
We have started the Plagron fertilization program, we are in 100% organic configuration, the soil is recycled Promix + 1/3 fresh soil + 10% Perlite + RQS Mycorrhizae Mix (4 g in the mix, 1 g under the small fiber pot).
We start bloom time now fertilize with: 1 ml/l Power Roots - 1 ml/l Pure Zym - 1 ml/l Sugar Royal - 1 ml/l Power Buds - 4 ml/l Alga Bloom
We sprayed 3 ml/l Vita Race foliar fertilizer once a week.

Everything is going to plan so far, at the end of week 4 I will be flipping the lights to 12/12 because the gelatos will be ready for it, but the Og is a little bit behind but I’m sure it will catch up with them in the stretch.
Day 26 - just switched the lights this morning 12/12 as it’s about time imo as the gelatos are getting big I don’t have the time or space to let them veg on so the Og could catch up, so I’m gonna hope that during the stretch it does.

Background: This is a small grow in a 20" x 36"x 63" tent. Growing 2 sour diesel from seed in coco/perlite medium using General Hydroponic nutrients and primarily following feeding schedule as listed here http://gh.growgh.com/docs/Feedcharts/GH_FloraSeries-DTW_03216am.pdf . I'll be substituting "h3ad formula," i.e. 6 ml GH FloraMicro : 9 ml GH FloraBloom per gallon, for the first 3 rows in the pdf and also be skipping Diamond Nectar, FloraBlend, and FloraNectar. See pic above for nutrient list.
Note: Second time attempting to grow this strain. Bud rot destroyed majority of previous grow so this is a redemption grow, hopefully. Lesson learned from previous failure - two circulation fans do not counter high humidity especially for the big buds over 3" wide. On chop day, after vegging for 3 months and flowering for 100 days, the insides of the buds closest to the stems were full of white cotton candy. Couldn't spot it from the outside at all. So lesson learned, and this time end of flower will coincide with low-humidity winter as opposed to the summer.
Week 1 - Nutrient regimen: 6 ml GH FloraMicro + 9 ml GH FloraBloom per gallon. Used at 1/3 strength diluted with dechlorinated water. Solution ph'd to 5.8.
9/5/2019 (V1) - Sprouted yesterday and moved under 273 watts of vero 29 LED today, dimmed to lowest setting. Used rapid rooters for germination but would have preferred peat pellets since they stay can stay upright without support.
9/10/2019 (V6) - Fungus gnat larvae infestation! Transplanted to solo cups on 9/6 (V2) using ready mix bag of coco and perlite. Using 1/3 strength "h3ad formula" for first week and fed every other day. Growth appears stunted compared to previous grows and stems needed additional support to stay upright with circulation fan on. Feeding until runoff showed major infestation (see video #1). Can only guess coco mix bag was contaminated, since no adult gnats are visible in tent and yellow sticky card is empty. This has got to be my record for early fuckups!
Attempting to treat with neem extract mix (dosed used 5 ml neem oil extract : 500 ml water) and a layer of diatomaceous earth on top (see V6 pic). Hopefully this treatment is better than not doing anything and letting those squirmy baby bastards take over. For a plant this young and without adequate root support this is a gamble.
Also bumped up light a bit to 13000 lux as read on Light Meter v3.1 app by Trajkovski Labs using Samsung S6.

day 58 - 9/1/2026. time flies when you are having fun❤️ Got my new adlite installed uv + ir and Blue30 and red30. so is gonna be interesting to see, going from here. they seem to take it pretty well 🌞

Not a lot to update the seedlings have came up out the soil at this point they are still to small to tell any visible differences.
I started all the seeds from all 10 packs and and I put 26 of them in soil I now have about 20 of them left I still have atleast one left if every strain. I just kept the 20 plants that all started off at the same time it’s so much easier when there is not some plants behind from the rip. In a few days I will pick out the best one from each of the 10 strains and toss the rest so sad there is a plant count here.

Flowering and the stretch phase have officially begun, and the canopy remains very even thanks to the earlier training. The first buds are forming nicely, and the plant looks vigorous overall. There is still some minor pest damage on a few fan leaves, but it remains healthy and is developing exactly as expected.

Cloning week. Mom goes to flowering, clones go to the main box for rooting.
Made 4 clone cuts. No place for mother plant in the main growbox so it goes to flowering on 32 day of Veg.
For further experiment I need only 2 clones, so lets look who'll survive. First time cloning :)

Week 6 is wrapped up and the plant is showing great vitality. Although the light intensity has stayed nearly the same, water consumption has increased massively and is now over 1.3 liters per day. I watered three times in total. I reduced the pH of the nutrient solution from 5.9 to 5.8 with an EC of 1.8 to counteract the slightly higher runoff pH of 6.3 and keep the medium stable.
The Wedding Cheesecake is now in full stretch and is growing about 2 cm taller every day. She currently stands at just over 30 cm from the soil level. Flowering has progressed significantly and white hairs are visible everywhere.
Since the plant is now growing as close as 20 cm to the lamp, the PPFD value at 90 percent power is currently between 600 and 700.
It is starting to get very crowded in the tent as the foliage is quite expansive and already touching the walls. To avoid stressing the plant unnecessarily during the stretch, I have only selectively removed small side shoots to ensure energy is directed to the main buds. A more thorough thinning to optimize air circulation is planned once the stretch is over.
Despite the strong growth, there is still plenty of vertical room in the tent. I am very curious to see the final height.
