This plant is still probably my favourite from all the for autos that I grew. She doesn't have a lot of Bud on her but her main cola is a footlong stick of bud. The stems are pink the leaves are yellow and the bud is green. It's such a pretty plant with nice structure, although this stems are a little weak and I ended up breaking one. I'm going to harvest my last Northern lights this week and this plant will get the chop next Monday. She's losing all her fan leaves naturally so this looks to be the easiest trim I'll ever do. D81, still losing leaves. Ngl I actually think I won't have to trim this one haha

9/10: New week, pictures are worth thousands of words.. will have more to say later- 9/11: I waited to long to transplant them and they have root problems to some degree or another...too wet for too long. I transplanted both of them into 3 gallon pots and observed about 50% brownish roots on both of them. 😕 I powdered the planting holes with myco, tricho, and other goodness. I added two Mars Hydro 150w lights, and a 60w 6500k LED panel light since they are all spread out now. The average CCT is still a little over 4800k, even though the Mars are a little warmer color temp than the Viparspectras. 9/12: Between the root problems and the transplant, they looked horrible, so I sprayed them with BoomBoom Spray today and will do a good root drench tomorrow with BushDoctor Boomerang. They looked better by the end of day, but still have a ways to go to get back on track... 9/17: I fed them boomerang only twice this week, and also gave them kangaroots yesterday. One of them is still kinda droopy looking..hopefully she snaps out of it soon. I'll prolly flip to 13/11 with emerson effect in the next couple of days.

Starting week 4 off with a few updates: We lost two soldiers today, 11/25/23, and pulled both of the struggling watermelons from the herd. Lowered the lights a bit as I felt they were a bit too high and to prepare for the real vegetative phase coming this week. DIY C02 bottles bubbling away nicely. Transplanted the remaining girls to their final home (5 gallon fabric pots) on 11/26/23. Used Photone app to dial in to proper PPFD at 350 as I was a bit high. Nearing end of week 4, I’m really starting to see rapid growth. Since I’m going with a SOG for this grow, I won’t be doing any topping but I will be doing some LST to start week 5 with 90 degree LST clips. (I’m calling it the 5x5 LST; 5 weeks at the 5th node pair) 😆

Lots of smells have become their own... The fried banana has this crazy skunk smell with a real earth dirt smell once the skunk fades... The orange cake NO kidding, smells like a fresh peeled orange and some kind of batter smell... It's nuts... The big Z has the immediate Skittles blast with a earthy afternote... And the paint is just like the last one and smells real chemical like! When u say the name it makes u smell the paint... Is that just me???? Hahaha anyways... Thats what I got .. everything is going amazing and for day 37 I think they've filled out real nice... Now hopefully they fatten up in the next 20-30 days!!!!

Oct 26, 2019 Orange Juice (1) – Day 29 Veg/Day 0 Flower (30% Indica/70% Sativa) (63-70 days) Blueberry Headband (2) – Day 29 Veg/Day 0 Flower (70% Indica/30% Sativa) (65-70 days) Cheese (1) – Day 29 Veg/Day 0 Flower (60% Indica/40% Sativa) (50-60 days) Several issues have been corrected in the last 48 hours. Also, a new LST technique I’m trying. First, am PHing everything. The RO water that I use is 7 or above. Not ideal and has caused some nutrient lockout. Second, lowered the light Much closer. At 100% power, my light is best for veg at 24” and for flower at 18”. The light was at around 36” or more from the canopy. Third, I put a weakass fan drawing air down a 2 1/2“ pipe from the top of the grow closet to about 6-8” above the floor. Meant to recycle some of the warm air. Have seen instant results. It is actually easier keeping the environment consistent. My overnight temp is now 20-22C and daytime is 27-25C. Only a 5 degree difference. Have started making tea from Gaia fertilizer, seaweed extract, Epsom salts and Molasses. PH 6.2-6.8. Feeding every second watering.

Lovin her so far. Fingers crossed but i havent had a problem with her yet. Did my math wrong on the nutes so i fixed that this week. Spread out leaves so shes easy to defoliate and she doesnt really need it much cause all the parts still get light. She just started showing pistils which im super happy happy about The stems smell super dank but still a pretty weak smell so far. 3 days later and shes even taller and the pistils are starting to look like buds. She dried up already so i gave them an extra litre of water this time so i adjusted the nutes a bit. I plucked a lot of the big leaves again. IDK if that was a good idea or not but it felt right because so many of the lower branches werent getting that much light. I didnt go too crazy and left some leaves. She bounced back fine last time so im not worried. Cant wait to see some buds!!

Week 10 starting, was planning to chop after 9 weeks but still not there yet. Flushing starting tomorrow and watching trichomes daily. Well see how week 10 finishes.

It's a nice change of pace to have these warmer temperatures, even if it's not quite spring yet. Low 40s during the day is a lot more comfortable than what we've been dealing with lately. Hopefully, this is a sign that spring's around the corner. My Blackberry Moon Rocks are growing like crazy! Most of the leaves are a nice, deep green, but I noticed a few on one plant were a little yellow. I did some research and it sounds like they need some extra nutrients, so I'll be adding those in on the next watering. I can't wait to see how much bigger and bushier these beauties get.

Chopped on day 84. 2.96 Oz of flower after 7 day drying. Will update review post cure and smoke report. Smells like grapes so the name suits in perfectly

Week 6

Its been a busy week in Fat Zappa's Garden, hence another late update. I am no longer concerned about the gold patches on the plants, there has been a little more since the past update, particularly around the edges of some of the leaves but not much at all and it certainly doesn't appear to be anything serious so my fears have eased much in that regard. The three older ladies in this grow are coming to the end of day 32 as I type this update, and have grown into fairly big plants over the past week or so. Despite having low stress training applied every two or three days they now stand around a foot tall. Not quite as tall as their Fastbuds label mate, the Wedding Cheesecake I am growing in Canna Coco and the same dry amendments, which stands an inch taller than these three sisters, but then she is nine days younger. These three girls are certainly more fuller plants though, and the past few days have seen the white hairs begin to appear, particularly on the bud sites, which have also began to turn light green, and the stem on one of these girls begin to turn more 'vine like' in texture. Remaining on a schedule of about 2.5 litres of dechlorinated, aerated water of PH 6.4, day 28 also saw the garden revitalised by their usual tipple being replaced for an aerated compost tea of 2 cups of Worm Castings, 2 tablespoons of Alfalfa Meal, 2 tablespoons of Kelp Meal, and 1 tablespoon of Bat Guano in a cheese cloth bag, and placed in a UK 5 Gallon bucket with 2 tablespoons of Molasses mixed into the dechlorinated water I had aerated for 24 hours, and then brewed it for about 26 hours. It may just have been a well timed coincidence, but I do feel like the plants have shown a spurt of growth since receiving it, particularly the runt of these Mrs Banners, who received her first session of low stress training on day 30. Prior to this spurt of growth I was not going to perform any LST on her cos she just seemed way to small but has really filled out in the past week, although remains a very short specimen compared to her sisters, and the Wedding Cheesecakes who are 2 days younger than her. I am starting to think something may have gone awry when I mixed my soil up, as the two pots which I struggled to germinate the initial seeds in, one which failed completely, have not seemed to thrive as much as the other four plants. When I mixed the initial mix into the 5 Gallon pots I did it in two batches, yet filled the all the pots a scoop at a time along a row so it does seem strange. I think next time I will mixed the medium with the dry amendments and castings a pot at a time to gain more control and see if things improve. Also, in preparation for feeding the compost tea I did have a trim around the bottom of the larger plants as watering has become more difficult with all my wires and tucked leaves etc, which I immediately regretted, but actually, like I say, the plants seemed to have had a boost over the past few days so I am happy no harm has been done. The lights are now running at the full 450w and set to around 25 inches from the top of the canopy. I have also increased the airflow through the intake fan, the canopy fans are both on high, my two 40 watt fans are now running on medium, and my AC Infinity T6 turned up to three on the OFF setting. My heater and humidifier remain on full on the environment has remained stable despite the ramping up of the light to full blast. Lastly, day 32 began with a top dressing for all these plants, with the larger ladies showing signs of pre-flower. They got heaped portions of 1/2 cup of Worm Castings, 1/3 cup Dr Forest Organics 284 Bloom, and a table spoon of Dr Forest Organics Veg dry amendments which I mixed in as best I could with all my LST wires etc, and then watered at PH level 6.4. I'd like to mix the PH up a little more between 6.2 and 6.8 but it always seems to come out 6.4. I will endeavour to update the pages for the two Wedding Cheesecakes as soon as time allows. This past week I've been removing a couple of leaves here and there from each of the plants to expose some of the buds to more light, never more than two or three at a time. I upped the amount of Tiger Bloom once again and in another week or so I'm going to add my other LED light to the tent so I can really take these girls to the limit and get a nice yield. The smell as well as the trichome production continues to get stronger.
