Week 2 and the girls are flexing and showing out for her flat mates (Frisian Ducks) put a good 4 inches on those girls. Stretched this week like a sumbitch!!!

My Zkittles is farther ahead of any of the others, she is really going yellow, she’s at day 67 but isn’t quite ready by the looks of the trichs, other than that and wishing I hadn’t underestimated these genetics and wishing I had put a scrog up when I had the chance and knowing I should have put one in. Lesson learned I’ll do better 🤙🏼🤙🏼

Ok so I'm going too only feed pH water from here on out too force the plants too use up all that's in the soil , I am hoping I can carry them on now for the next 2 weeks like this before they are ripe , Update at the end of week 9 Well this week saw a lot of change , bud swelling and ripened up really quickly And slowed right down on drinking last time I checked she was 30% amber and 70% cloudy so she has been moved into a dark room until Thursday now too drink what’s left in her pot ready for harvest at the weekend , she smell so good and if you brush against it , So that’s one down 3 too go :)

Overall very easy to grow dont need much attention at all left her to grow natural so not sure if strong for training probably ,smells really sweet by far

This was a fun project that was a few years in the making and a year later to see if they would last a season for this upload to happen. Before any of this I would bike aorund town grabbing up all the old Ikea solid pine bed slats that I could find and storing them in the basement. I have a lot of wood down there, any size worked as long as I have enough of them. The hot days to find them were the first and last of the months because that's when people where moving in/out. I also kept an eye on the free section on local online classifieds as well. The entire purpose of this was to recycle as much off the streets as I could before buying anything to finalize the project. In the end I only bought sealer, screws and some takeaway/beers. All the wood was 100% free and salvaged off the streets of Toronto saving it from the dumpster bin. After collecting all the slats for about 2 years I was playing aorund with them on how I wanted to make this work. I had previously done a little project like this before but I messed it up and the boxes where crap. did not last longer then 2 seasons, they where thin and shallow as well could not grow much of anything in them. I Was talking to my friend who is renovating their house and we brainstormed some ideas on the boxes, I found some designs I liked online and said lets make something like this out of what I have here. We tossed out a few of the design features when looking at them as it would have been wasted wood and extra work not needed. If I had more wood them maybe it could have been an option but simple was the name of the game. They taught me what I needed to know like how the miter saw and sander worked, plus all the other tools I was using. They did help out with a table saw and creating the triangle support joints in the corners, They used some pine left overs they had while making a staircase indoors. I did not feel up to the task of using a table saw given all the relatives I know who have lost a finger to them. In the end we decided the design would be three boards high and take an alternating pattern on corners. layer one short, layer 2 long, layer 3 short. Went with a galvanized and painted deck screw so it can take the weathering. Ran into some problems like making everything level as some of the boards were warped and other ones had undesired aspects like knots and tacky sticker goo I could not remove. So I used them for the base that will not been seen so much. Clamped everything down and called it a day. Once it was all done and over with, I then brought them back home from my buddies work garage and started to seal them. I went with a boiled linseed oil as its a food safe option should the wood degrade into the soil I will plant in them. I will need to reapply it to the boxes year after year but the main coat is the most important one and I put it on 3 layers with a good dry in between coats. the inside of the boxes that where coated did not degrade at all as the sun did not hit them so it will not need a new coat just the outside. Overall the end result was very impressive for myself, I've never taken a woodworking class ever and It was a near perfect outcome for me. Heavy Duty Planter Boxes for all my gardening needs. I made a last min decision to add in a plastic liner to preserve the wood even longer and stapled that into the frame. it has held up quite well and may need replacing end of 2nd or 3rd year out in the sun. Week 13 – Ripening is now progressing slowly, as I had expected, due to my choice to provide a light stimulus that isn’t too intense but rather gentler. From flowering until now I’ve maintained 30 DLI and a steady 470 PAR. In this run, the goal has been to keep the resin thick and sticky. Humidity has been kept between 57–62% max. My lamp is an Omega Pro 300W, which I’m currently running 37% (111 W). This strategy seems to be working well: resin production has been abundant, and on this point—and not only this one—I’ve completely fallen in love with Gorilla Cookies. The aroma is exquisite, and the resin… the flowers are covered in ointment-like resin. The macro shots of the trichomes still don’t show any amber heads, so I believe harvest is probably about 10–15 days away. 🍮🤤 I think I’ll grow only Gorilla in the next run! 🦍👀 P.SThe leaf discoloration happened very quickly! Welcome to my Auto Cinderella Jack(s) grows from Dutch-Passion. Both ladies have been on water for 10 days. The synthetic got a hard flush and the organic was soft flushed (water for 10days to rid of excess nutrients in soil) Was such a pleasure to grow both girls. The organic has lovely bright orange hairs with very dense hard big buds. Calyxes are nice and big with a nice leaf to calyx ratio. (Not much to trim)...The Synthetic girl has a completely different structure. Has shorter buds, that are very dense and has a lot more frost. Has lovely hints of purple throughout it. All buds are lovely and tight/dense and very stinky and sticky. Both plants needed the full dose of the FC 3000 and I've no doubt that I'd of gotten a different bud structure deeper into the canopy. (Its not larf) just not as hard the deeper down into the canopy, (some of the bud) All ladies (autos) have been in a dark rest 24hrs now and will get another 24hrs in a dark tent. Hoping to see glistening resin upon harvesting. Plants will be harvested in this grow week and dried, then after I taste and get the measure of both plants as for quality I'll rate them then. HARVEST DAY. 48Hr rest. And they nice and glistening. Glad I rested them. You really can see the resin. I harvested whole. Pult the whole plant(s) up from the stem and broke away the clay and took the main roots that come from the stem. The organic, boy, she was bet in. Took me all my strength to break away her main roots. They were mm thick. Very nice root structure also. The synthic, the soil just broke apart before I could take out upon my pulling..put my back into it thinking would be the same. Strong, but nowhere near as good a root zone as the nearly all organic beat her hands down. As for bud size, she took that to. They equally smell very fruity and have a very light gasey smell. But very fruity. More that than anything. I'm sure I'll put my finger on it as the days go by. Let's hope they both dry nice and I can keep a steady temperature. 10 November 2020 SunSet-Sherbet Well this week is just another week by now, this lady has been threading through the scrog throughout the week and I believe this lady has finished here stretching and is in full on flowering mode now. Normally a plant stretches the first few weeks into flower to stop the growth and use the nutrients it’s getting now is used to store in the nugs and not the growth anymore. Each cola of each branch has reached the scrog net and has a decent amount of light exposure due to the fact that I only has one light for 2 plants and the spread of the light isn’t the best. Started making actual looking hairy heads with the on them 😁 the leaf spread is just getting a lot. Do-Si-Wine This plant is doing splendid due to fact that the long and stretchy-ness of these branches has reached the scrog net above and beyond which makes it a lot easier to thread through the scrog and to get as much light exposure as possible for more thicker nugs 🤓 The heads on this lady has started making THC 😁 the nugs are starting slowly to turn white which is very cool, because the plant is a dark green with WHITE nugs. One branched has snapped which is quiet delicate and grows above the rest if the canopy and causes shadow from on the bottom branches.

First week of flowering

Days 35-42 (Day 36) Some minor problems starting to arise here. A few times this week it got up to 90+ degrees which I think may have caused a bit of heat stress in some of the plants. I’m seeing a bit of cupping/crinkles on some of the fan leaves and some of the new growth is looking pretty gnarled and twisted. I hear windburn can cause this too so I’m turning my fans down to low speed. This could also be a problem with humidity so I’m going to turn off my humidifier, dim the lights and raise them. During my last feeding I mulched in some worm castings but it seems like they’re keeping the soil/coco from drying out. Pots are still decently heavy and even the surface is still quite moist but they aren’t showing any major signs of overwatering. I figure it will only be a few weeks before the castings break down so I will just leave it. A few of the plants are starting to show yellowing leaf tips which is probably some kind of micro nutrient lockout from my PH being slightly too high. It could also be from nute burn so I will water in 6.0 until I see some runoff. Although the most likely culprit is potassium excess. I’ve been feeding potassium almost as much as nitrogen so far. I know that can cause the yellowing of leaf tips by locking out trace minerals. It can also cause leaf problems like crinkling. Excess K can even cause water retention! Will water at 6.0 until run off next watering. The lst is coming along nicely. It was a good idea to remove the first two sets of branches (not leaves). Now I have 4-6 perfectly even stems coming from each plant that I plan to top one more time each. (Day 37) Today I’m going to vacuum, clean, wipe down and spray all my equipment in the tent. I’ve been letting the floor get quite dirty and I haven’t had the chance for a thorough clean since last round. I’m kind of surprised I haven’t seen any powdery mildew yet. I guess the prevention spray is working because the room has to be infected from my last crop. (Day 40) I was reading that you can foliar spray whatever you are deficient in for an immediate uptake. I‘m going to try that with my current potassium excess since it locks out trace minerals. I’m going to foliar feed a bit of phytoplankton at 15ml/L and some MagnifiCal + VeloKelp from Remo nutrients both at 5ml/L. The cal mag is not organic but as long as it’s not going into the soil and doesn’t contain chlorine I’m fine with it. I’m also going to be changing the light cycle to 18/6 for the remainder of veg. This will be their first dark cycle so they can properly foliar feed. Edit: humidity shot up to 85% a few hours after foliar spray. I went to top dress everything today and I mixed up the plants while doing so! So the ones I was unsure about I gave 1 extra tablespoon. I won’t top dress again for at least 10 days. Might give a light tea sometime next week. I also tilled the shit out of the top of each pot. It had a hard crusty layer on top that was keeping the medium from drying out properly. I’m not going to water again until everything is bone dry. Then I will water until slight runoff at 6.0 ph with some Dr. Marijane bacteria/root probiotic. I’m starting too see a lot more of these abrasions on some of the bigger fan leaves. It almost looks like thrip damage but I’m 100% sure it’s not a pest above ground. It could be bulb mites, which I found in my worm castings but I can’t check until the roots are more established in their pots. The leaves themselves are cold and feel damp to the touch. I haven’t even seen a fungus gnat since I last fed. I’m hoping it’s related to the K excess and clears up with the troubleshooting. (Day 41) Just ordered a wire cube rack to prop my plants up with and help evaporation/root warmth. Each cube is 11.8”x11.8”x11.8” and it comes with 16 cubes. So it will fit just perfectly in my 4x4. Depending on the size, I might order another one for the flower room where I would need 25 cubes.

D1 Both girls germinated, but the first has stretched more than the other, although they both look healthy and vibrant. I moved them from the heat mat into the tent and a temporary SANSI light since the other light is still in my photo tent for another couple of days. I will not bother with up-potting and instead transplant them into their final pots tomorrow. ------------------------------ D2. Transplanted and watered each with 0.5 liters of water @ pH 6.4, with a half teaspoon of myco/kelp mixed in. I switched the lights and set DLI to 12 ------------------------------ D4. The girls are happy little campers in their new homes. The first is the taller one but only by a centimeter. I bumped DLI to 14. ------------------------------ D7. End of the first week, and the girls are loving life. Unfortunately, it seems that fungus gnats do as well. I knew this could happen by using fresh worm castings as a top dressing. It's not a huge deal, as I already have nematodes ready to go, but I want the soil to dry out before watering again. It's silly to risk over-watering just to get rid of a few gnats. It can wait a few days. I increased DLI to 16. ------------------------------

Aug 31: Fast. I got home from work today and could see a notable increase on the flowers. Very exciting. Sep 2: plants are fine but we’re having yet another bad air day due to wildfire smoke. The red tint on the photos is due to smoke. This is pretty bad, but it was worse a few times in May. It’s supposed to clear later this weekend. Sep 3: still smoky but rained a bit which helps. Gorilla Cookies has the best flowers but also seemed to catch the most rainwater in the buds. Gave each branch a shake to help prevent problems. Sep 4: soil is holding water since the last compost tea. This reduction in infiltration rate can happen apparently, and the trick is to not overwater it. It’s also cool today so minimal water used. Sep 5: cool today with gusty winds that blew over Bruce and Gelato. Small footprint of the 5 gallon bag isn’t quite big enough to be stable when plant is this big. Trade off with using a more easily moved size, and that should also help promote early flowering.

The tiny potter is growing great under the Mars Hydro FC4800 light. Huge plant for a small potter. Been feeding 2 to 3 times a day to keep ph in check and coco wet. Plus nutrition for this tiny potter grow. Hopefully she continues to progress well. This is a very tricky grow. Nothing else to report.
