How did you create/breed Freakshow? A. Methodical selection, line breeding, and culling is the short answer. Read our About page for more details. Q. Is it an indoor or outdoor type? A. Everything I've ever worked has been outdoors, including of course Freakshow. It has been our experience that outdoor (or sun grown, as it's recently being referred to) cultivars seem to perform extremely well under artificial conditions. The opposite is not always true; indoor clones often give an outdoor grower headaches because they don't always make the transition smoothly. Also, considering the amount of continuous shameless hybridization that has occurred in the last 40 yrs., any modern kind could easily contain over 40 kinds. In the case of Freakshow, it's much more limited because the ancestry is largely older "Sativas" that didn't go through as much outcrossing. In the 70s in Santa Cruz, Haze was a favorite among surfers for the pure energy and I still have (greatly improved) stock of it around, simply because even when I made hybrids with it I always kept the original in pure form for obvious reasons. Q. What is the psychoactive effect like? A. Like the flavors, many people have commented that the "buzz" is somewhat different than other mainstream types out there. It's not entirely out of the scope of imagination that given that this strain has new alleles in so many other respects, that it could also contain new, unique cannabinoids, as well as new and unique terpenoids, some of which may not even be among the standard 16 or so that the average lab is testing for. Aside from the up, cerebral, energetic boost, some report a mild time/space warp effect. Creativity and idea induction should be mentioned, for sure. Freakshow has the pure energy effect and greatly alters perception to the positive side, so definitely destroys depression. When I read the piece and saw the mistake I figured it didn't matter that much, that the actual method of breeding could just remain a "trade secret". Recently, I noticed online that a posting, "Freakshow only exists because of duckfoot" by Curious Cannabis Connoisseur, where he explains how I developed Freakshow using Duckfoot. Let me explain, about 20 yrs. ago a friend gave me a jar of seeds labeled "BC Bigbud" and I sprouted flats of hundreds to look for oddities and had found one web-leaf pheno which we named Webster. It was a female so I bred it to a normal leaf male and began selecting and stabilizing a line of Webster. About 5 or 6 generations later I had nailed it to 100% webs and had also stabilized it for a deep purple color and a nice "gingerbread" terp profile. I was busy working other lines at that point so I put Webster in the library. Also, I was having a hell of a time getting a pheno of it that flowered to my satisfaction. (it seemed to finish with a limited number of calyxes). I knew I would have to outcross it to something with a big tasty bud and restabilize it for web-leaf, and I no longer had the original BC Bigbud. I still have the Webster seeds, and trust me the thought has crossed my mind to make the cross with Freakshow, but why? Why mess around crossing things just to create something even weirder? I have heard that the "Duckfoot" also doesn't bud up well so maybe there's a correlation there. Anyway, people can do what they want to and I will too, but crossing Freakshow with some low-THC crap like ABC is in my opinion idiotic. I worked extremely hard stabilizing and perfecting a beautiful new subspecies and I believe it should be kept pure. I won't go on a rant here about the rampant crossing and the lack of line-breeding in the cannabis world in the last several decades, or where this will eventually lead us, but I will say that it's not in a good direction. Bottom line....Freakshow has no web-leaf genes, it was made using top-grade tropical narrow-leaf drug (NLD) cultivars. Q.Why is Freakshow patented? A. Although I and most others (including all the folks at HSC) believe in and subscribe to the concept of "open sourcing" because sharing in cannabis genetics was always the cultural norm, it was decided that Freakshow should be protected (1) because it is a novel and unique, not a preexisting strain (or even subspecies), (2) To keep the greedy corporate big boys from exploiting it, (3) To maintain control of the genetic refinement of it in all future generations. Fixed my lighting up to where the cheese is not getting overwhelmed. Had a case of light bleaching going on.... Lollipoped the girls and did a little defoliation on larger fan leaves. Adding 1 tablespoon per gallon of unsulfered molasses.

Esta cepa quería cultivarla hace un año aprox y por cosas de la vida no pude y hace cuatro o cinco meses aproximadamente pude darme el lujo de cultivarla. Su germinacion fue perfecta, sin ningún tipo de problemas y en esa etapa la deje dos semanas en Enraizamiento. En etapa de crecimiento la deje cinco semanas, ya que nunca había dejado más de tres, yo creo que haberla dejado bastante tiempo en crecimiento ayudo para que se desarrollarse de forma correcta y ayudar a la hora de floración para sacar los cogollos que saco. Y en etapa de floración la deje nueve semanas, tampoco tuve problemas en toda esa etapa. Me sorprendió su fácil cultivo, lo unico que tuve que hacer fue regalarla con sus despectivos fertilizantes. Tema enfermedades o plagas por suerte no tuvo en todo su desarrollo. Como siempre digo super recomiendo el banco de semillas BSF Seed ya que la calidad es de 10 puntos. Estoy super conforme con los resultados, en húmedo los cocos pesan 196g, utilicé una lámpara led de sólo 100w, en un indor de 1.60mX60x60. Los fertilizantes que siempre utilizó y me ayudan a sacar los resultados logrados son de Top Crop, y uso toda su línea de fertilizantes para cada etapa de la planta. Super recomendable también! En las últimas imágenes se puede apreciar las raíces densas que desarrollo durante todo el cultivo. Y utilizó macetas de la marca Root House de 10L. Saludos a todos y a esperar que la weed se seque para poder ya meterlos en el frasco y que se empiecen a curar.

Week 5 finally brought some stretch. At the beginning of Week 6, I adjusted the LST and removed some smaller leafs deep down in that forest that started to turn yellow. Furthermore i started to add BioBizz - Top Max to the list of nutritions. On day 42, I removed some leafs near the bottom (about 25) that already were or have started to turn yellow. Additionally I tried to water 1 day earlier than the times before. Furthermore i adjusted the LST a little bit, in hope for some smaller buds to catch up with the rest. At the end of the 6th week, the lady still looks great and seems to be focusing on the buds. As it is getting warmer and warmer outside and therefore also in the box, I have also hung up a CO2 bag in the box. I hope it helps her to cope with the high temperatures. Even if I don't know if this really helps, I don't think it should do any harm.

Everything going nicely so far not much stretch after the first week and bud sites popping up everywhere. Day 66 - they were really bushy so decided to give them a lil hair cut, cutting away all the big fan leaves leaving all the bud sites. Day 68 - I fed them until run of today as going on holiday next week and have a pal sorting them out from Monday So far so good :) Will wait till end of the 3rd week and give them a little defoliation to improve air flow and light spread untill then there fed either everyday or every other day depending on when they need it.

TUESDAY 7/23: The FIM'ing seems to have only doubled her main, but that's okay. She's going from Hawaii conditions to Arizona conditions every day...8-10 hour of 72f/70+%RH to 12-14 hours of 96f/35%RH and taking it like a champ. I foliar fed her after taking her outside today and started training her a little bit. Gonna try to get those tiny lower branches to think they have a shot at "primary cola" status. I had no wire with me, so I just used a pliable length of dead-ish vine that was lying on the ground. I'll use some wire and binder clips when I can find it.. Evening...same day: She broke the vine I was using to hold her down, so I dug around and found some clips and wire. WEDNESDAY: She was just about 4 inches beneath 120w of LED last night with tons of blue spectra, 69f temperature and 80% RH. Those lower branches gained another half inch each and the top colas have turned to face the sun. I foliar fed her and gave her a little douche of Bactrex this morning when I took her outside. Had a cool front come through today, so the high will just be 87f and it's dropping to the mid to low 60's tonight..hooray! They're forecasting another day or two like this before the return to "oven-like" conditions.👍 I carried my pole saw down to the site at daybreak and removed a few smaller branches above them and to the West. I'll see if it is allowing some evening sun to reach her when I go down there to fetch her home to the LED's for the evening. THURSDAY: I was somewhat successful with getting a little bit more direct sunlight to her while outside during the day..about another 20-25 extra minutes. She got a sip of compost tea today with a little kelp me kelp you and big bloom. I tweaked her indoor domain a bit..she's now got 2 x 12w Miracle LED veg bulbs (cool white with 475nm peak), 1 x 75w cool white/460nm 225LED panel, 1 x 40w Sansi daylight grow bulb, 1 x 50w 460nm/cool white flood, and 1 x 18w 18" pinkish grow light bar. None of the lights are more than 5 inches from her, so she's incredibly well lit. I'm estimating that it's about 5,000 micromoles an hour, but I'm keeping the temp at her canopy under 80f with 90+% RH. It's not direct sunlight, but I think she's happy. I'm still undecided as to whether I'll keep her on a 24/0 schedule or if I'll cut it back to 20/4 when she starts flowering. Since I can provide her with a cool and humid environment for a third of the day, I'm leaning towards running 24/0 the whole grow. FRIDAY: I accidentally burnt her up a little bit today..one of the overhead LED's slipped and was about an inch from her top leaves...oops..I put her outside and misted her with some boom boom spray and kelp me kelp you.. SATURDAY: She's got a few crispy leaves, but she perked up and is growing again...whew...😓 SUNDAY: I tweaked her indoor environment today. She's now got a 120w quantum board (3500k) overhead, a 24w panel with 225 x 660nm red LEDs, the 40w Sansi light, one 9w 2' bar grow light, and one 12w Miracle LED blue.

Top dressed the soil day 19 with organic fertilizer. The blue strains are growing fast and bigger than the others. The two LSD’s look completely different, one looks healthy and growing strong. The other, has very light leaves. Im not sure why. it’s in the same soil with the same nutrients and gets the same water as the other plants. Any thoughts? Other than that, things are going well! The Ladies are growing rapidly. Should be ready to LST and tie them down in a few days.

Plants looks healthy, they are really in good shape and cover aproximietly 1m2 each plant. They looks amazing :)

Harvest was about 4 days total and i ended up dying plants for 12-14 days just depening on what was cut when and also structure because i wet trimmed one plant and let the others dry/ cure with the sugar leaves. I did that because i fivure they have tricombs and thats where all the good stuff is so might as well 🤷‍♂️ they will get the post cure trim probably about week 2-3 thats when ill post final video of all pheno! Curing at about 65% humidity trying to stay tward that higher side only because i am in colorado and buds dry out so fast, a couple pheno where in the high 50s the firdt two days so j re moistened them with a damp paper towel and just have been keeping an eye on them. I gotta say as a novice grower leaving sugar leaves is helping me determine the moisture level in my jars

It's Day 15 Week 03 Of Flower For My 02 Kombucha Cream by atlasseed . And For My Snow White and SpliffStrawberry by Spliff Seeds Amsterdam . Today was Feeding. So my Kombucha Cream 3-Part and Snow White Received. 2ml of Emerald Harvest Nutrients Grow, 4ml Micro, 8ml Bloom, 8ml Emerald Goddess, King Kola, Honey Chome and 4ml of Quad.AG Products Fulonic. I ph this mix at 5.9 ppm at 933. Now on Runoff my Kombucha Cream 3-Part ph is at 6.4 and ppm is at 1211. My Snow White ph is at 6.2 ppm is at 933. I Feed the Kombucha Cream 2-Part and SpliffStrawberry. 5ml of Emeral Harvest Nutrients Cali Pro Bloom A&B, 8ml Of Emerald Goddess, King Kola,Honey Chome and 4ml Of Quad.AG Fulonic. Now I mix this feed at 5.8 and ppm at 728 on Runoff My Kombucha Cream 2-Part as a ph of 6.2 and ppm is at 933. My SpliffStrawberry as a ph of 6.5 and ppm is at 821 l. I'm starting to win the battle on the pH on my next feeding I will pH at 6.0. all 4 plants are Looking Great Bud Formation is rocking and getting really Frosty . Happy Growing Growmies 🤘🏻

05/13 - added Big bud and B-52 on 05/10. PPM is over 1400 - plants show zero sign of over fertilizing.. I'm impressed. I've always found AN to be pretty hot - where I can run it slightly below recommendation, but Im tempted to increase with these gals. I won't, but I'm tempted.

Semaine 2 - Croissance Cette semaine, je suis satisfait de l’évolution de ma plante. Après la transplantation, qui avait nécessité une coupe et égalisation des racines ainsi qu’un topping, elle a bien repris. On observe une belle masse racinaire qui s’est redéveloppée, ce qui est encourageant. Il y a eu quelques signes de stress, ce qui était attendu, mais la plante est repartie correctement. J’ai effectué une légère défoliation pour aérer la structure et favoriser la croissance des branches secondaires. J’ai également ajusté légèrement les nutriments pour accompagner la reprise vigoureuse du système racinaire. Pour l’instant, je ne compte pas prolonger la croissance trop longtemps. L’idée est de laisser la plante gagner encore un peu en vigueur et développer quelques branches secondaires supplémentaires avant de passer à l’étape suivante. On continue de suivre son évolution tranquillement, mais pour le moment, les résultats sont encourageants. À suivre ! Week 2 - Vegetative Growth This week, I’m pleased with how my plant is progressing. After the transplant, which involved trimming and equalizing the roots as well as topping, it has bounced back nicely. The root mass has redeveloped well, which is encouraging. There were some minor signs of stress, as expected, but the plant is recovering properly. I performed a light defoliation to improve airflow and encourage the growth of secondary branches. I also adjusted the nutrients slightly to support the vigorous regrowth of the root system. For now, I don’t plan on extending the vegetative stage for too long. The goal is to let the plant gain a bit more strength and develop a few additional secondary branches before moving on to the next stage. We’ll continue to monitor its progress steadily, but so far, the results are promising. Stay tuned!

She is reaching the end. Leaves browning off and going well. Trichomes milky but will wait for 30% amber.

She was left alone for 10 days but it turns out that I managed to leave just the right amount of water in autopot. She used all the water and dried out her root just at the same time when I was back. She recovered nicely from overwatering and went pretty high witch was expected for part of sativa genetics in her. She was already in flowering phase but I still I decided to apply some heavy LST to lower her down and spread around the grow tent since she is the only one in. She has now covered 70% of my 80x80cm grow tent. Also I used BOOM BOOM spray twice to save her from LST shock. First added bactrex 1 gr, orgatrex 20ml in 1 lit (BIO TABS) . After that I was using combination of 2ml orgatrex and 2ml of BIO PK 5-8 in 1 lit water with each watering. And she really started to use loads of water, 1,5 lit per day. No photos during week 5 so I added early week 6
