Trichome Takeover! ❄️🍰 : The Cake is Frosting Up! Welcome to Week 8! This Wedding Cake Auto is really living up to her name now. The "stretch" from the previous weeks has finally settled, and she is focusing all her energy on stacking those buds. The frost is becoming much more apparent trichomes are starting to crawl onto the sugar leaves, and the scent is getting deeper and more doughy every time I open the tent. I’m really impressed with how she handled the topping and LST earlier on; the canopy is nice and even, and every bud site is getting a prime spot under the Agyrochy LED. Feeding & Environment: Watering: She’s getting thirsty! I’ve maintained a steady watering schedule, making sure to keep the pH around 5.5-6.0 as she bulks up. Nutrients: Continuing with the mix. She seems to be loving the current PPM levels (around 800), so I’m sticking to the plan without pushing too hard. Zamnesia really knocked it out of the park with these genetics. Low effort, high reward so far! Can't wait to see how much more she swells in the coming days.

new week did a small bit of LST. Not sure if things are imrproving with the calmag but i am seeing more growth but still little brown patched on the leaves but ill stick at it and see how it all goes. I am wondering if i should remove any of the leaves with the brown patches etc but tempted to just let it grow and see where it ends up

Was fun and i cant wait for harvest day!!!!

More calm this week, not a lot of people mention on here that the work load reduces a couple weeks after the big stretch. Not had to do too much except a little bending as she’s still getting a bit too close to the lights again. Most of the fan leaves are off now, that I can reach that is. No more reservoir changes now until it gets the chop, as my nutrients stay fairly consistent for the next 3-5 weeks. At around 950 TDS @ 0.5 or 1900 PPM. Still no nutrient deficiencies, the longest stretch I have gone without at least some spots or marks on leaves. Would be interested to know what you guys think she might yield now she’s just about into her 5th week of flower?

3/14: Came back from a 4 day vacation to a lot of dry, wilted, dead leaves on Amnesia. Trainwreck is super starved as well. My automatic watering system didn't kick on, and the humidifier ran out of water within 24 hours, so there's that. It may be for the better though, as the PH of the nutrients had risen to 7.5. I tossed that mix, and made another 2 gallons of half strength nutes, molasses and epsom salt. I watered them both to runoff, and now I'll wait for Amnesia to prioritize which leaves she thinks are worth saving, and then I'll defoliate the dead ones. Hopefully trainwreck will just bounce back to green. She needed to be defoliated anyway, so this situation makes it easier for me to find the dead leaves. Edit: Came back to feed the last of the nutes and decided to pluck the crispy goners. I found that pulling the leaf stem downward will make the most dead leaves fall right off, allowing me to test a majority of the leaves and give Amnesia a major haircut. Luckily I left a lot of leaves from prior defoliation, as Amnesia REALLY sucked them dry. 3/15: Amnesia looks no worse for wear than last night. Trainwreck as well. Went ahead and pulled as many dead leaves off Trainwreck as I could. Some leaves were a mix of crispy brown and healthy green, which I think is pretty goofy, so I avoided taking any green fans but removed the crispy ones. The colors of the leaves around the buds are really fun to look at. 3/16: Amnesia is starting to SHED her dead leaves, allowing me to pick the leaves with almost no effort. I tested as many leaves as I could, giving another haircut. I would say this isn't a good thing, but since it's my first grow, I'm rolling with it. As long as Amnesia keeps the buds and its nearest leaves alive, it will slowly grow, albeit stunted. I'm not sure if this condition will cause it to finish sooner, but I'm going to need to watch the trichomes under a microscope every couple of days just in case she's ready for harvest. Trainwreck looks about the same as it did before. No new leaves are ready to be removed there yet. 3/19: Amnesia is still shedding leaves, but also bulking up. Trainwreck is slowly bulking up, and turning purple as well! Going to keep an eye on Amnesia's trichomes. Edit: because amnesia is yellowing so much, and because it's been 5 days, I'm going to feed both plants a quarter strength nutrient mix just in case I've been overfeeding them somehow.

Some new vertical growth but also some yellowing of the leaf tips. I see some people's diaries and their plants look so lush and green in comparison. Hey ho, not gonna mess with it else I'll make it worse!

Day 11 into flower, plant has transitioned quickly and didn’t stretch as much (thank God) as I thought it would heading into flower. It’s current size is 48 inches wide and 49 inches tall from the top of the soil.

######################################### HARVEST (Day 93 / June 4) ######################################### ----------------------------------------------------------- GROW SUMMARY ----------------------------------------------------------- Grown in 4x4 tent - but I only used 2x2 space because of heater and dehumidification and other plants (Outlier Z). This plant used a dedicated CMH 315 light. The plant was grown in hydroponics using a custom single-site PA hydroponics clone RDWC system with Advanced Nutrients Sensi Coco line, Microbial Mass and Orca for beneficials. I also experimented with Rapid start in the RDWC system, but I didn't see explosive root growth relying on Rapid Start as an additive to the system verse using it when starting in rapid rooters which worked well. All around a pretty easy grow and things went very well. Topped twice for a mainline structure and she really spread out. Sparkling golf ball size nugs down the branches and spaced out nicely. The scent off her was like burned rubber/tires or maybe fresh blacktop. A single water change which was only performed when switching to bloom nutrients around week 7. ----------------------------------------------------------- HARVEST ----------------------------------------------------------- No dark period and no flush. On day 93 she was chopped and hung to dry. ----------------------------------------------------------- DRYING ----------------------------------------------------------- Entire plant hung upside down for 15 days. The temps were dialed in at 60F by using the S6 intake fan pulling air from the AC through intake vent on side of the tent. Humidity was dialed in at 63%/60F for 24hr, 62%/60F for the next 48hr. Then 60%/60F for the third day and onward. AC Infinity T6/S6 exhaust and intake fans were on the setting of '2' during drying until day 7, then I could turn down to a setting of '1' once the plants were not transpiring excess moisture. Trimmed on day 18. Then the jars were left open in the tent for another 12 more days for a full 30 day dry at 60%/60F while rolling the jars frequently. Also ran dehumidifier in the tent but it only ran for 1-2 minutes every hour because the AC was doing most of the dehumidification on the intake. ----------------------------------------------------------- TRIMMING ----------------------------------------------------------- Trimming was an absolute breeze. All swelled nuggets, very little sugar leafs left to trim. ----------------------------------------------------------- CURING ----------------------------------------------------------- Flower product was transferred to 1L mason jars averaging 35g of product per jar. I added a mini hygrometer to each jar and chose not to use a boveda this time. The RH averaged 62-64% when trimmed flowers went in jars. Jars were left open in the tent for a total dry time of 30 days from harvest keeping the tent at 60%/60F. Once closed, the jars were burped once a day for the first seven days, once every other day for the next seven days, rolling jars often. The burp was only for 3-5 second for air exchange until a. 62% was maintained in the jar. ----------------------------------------------------------- YIELD ----------------------------------------------------------- * Weight calculated at 62% humidity after 30-day dry and 14-day cure. ============================== FLOWER PRODUCT ============================== 180.41g (6.44oz) ============================== TRIM PRODUCT ============================== 57g (2.03oz) ** All major fan leaves, stems, and branches removed from trim product. ============================== TOTAL OVERALL YIELD ============================== Total: 238.41g (8.51oz) ============================== SPACE YIELD ============================== 238.41g / 4 sqft (2x2 canopy) = 59.60g per sqft ============================== WATTAGE YIELD ============================== 315 Watts / 4 Square Foot (3x4 canopy) = 78.75 watts per sqft. 238.41g / 315 watts = 0.76 grams per watt ----------------------------------------------------------- PRODUCT TEST ----------------------------------------------------------- Bag appeal is top-notch. Trichome covered, with aromas of that unique 'kush' you can quickly identify based on experience. Best OG Kush I've ever tried, hands down! The flavour is kushy, smoke is smooth and definitely my favorite strain in my tote of cured harvests at the moment. I can't keep my hands off of the jars. Definitely not a daytime strain, even for experienced users, although I'll use it in the afternoon when life is throwing curve balls. The effects rise you up, then sets you right down and will wash away all that anxiety after a long day. Put it this way....if I puff a few hours before bed, I still feel it the next morning when I peel my eyes open. No joke. I'll definitely be growing this one again, maybe even next run because I'll be sad when I run out. ----------------------------------------------------------- REGRETS ----------------------------------------------------------- Not running more of this amazing plant. ----------------------------------------------------------- NEXT RUN ----------------------------------------------------------- This was the first run at my new residence so it will take some time to get it dialed in. I had some calibration issues which are now fixed. I'm going to be shooting for 1gram per watt on the next run. ----------------------------------------------------------- FINAL THOUGHTS ----------------------------------------------------------- DarkOwl is the best autoflower I've grown yet. I'm not happy with the overall harvest...it produced some good tasty smoke due to fine nutes and a wonderfull strain but i fu**ed it up by using a very bad soil...growth was very slow and also lost like 25g due to budrot/mold...again my fault as i set up ventilation the wrong way (RH was good but some buds didn't get enough airflow) Again i learned alot of things and got 275g of good, great smelling smoke...so not that bad...but could be much better 🙂

As I’m growing autos and female regulars in the same tent I’ve had to limit the amount of light the autos are getting to 12 hours a day in order to flower the lemon haze and gelato 41. This shouldn’t have too drastic effect on the Zkittles but we’ll see how they take to it. After the first week of flower receiving 12 hours of light and we can see that they’ve all opened up during the pre-flower stage ready to flower.

From sprout, I've been watering every 3-4 days. Been very consistent with this. Yellow tips been appearing. I think it could be Magnesium or Calcium deficiency. Hit it with some Calmag with iron.

Today is 12/7/18, day 20 in flower. Today is 12/8.18, day 21 in flower, watered with nutes, picture day. Today is 12/9/18, day 22 in flower, just video of the girls.

Plants are doing good this week, I started to lower the feed a bit from 1.6 down to 1.2 as some of them are finishing off and the rest are not to far behind noticed a bit of burn on upper leaves suggesting to heavy of a feed as well. Updated the heights on them as well as they grew a tiny bit. Should be the last height update, this is their final form :D #1 - 45cm +2cm #2 - 39cm +3cm #3 - 39cm +2cm #4 - 24cm +2cm #5 - 48cm +2cm #6 - 51cm +2cm Two of the plants have started to show signs they are entering their end stages of life. Hopefully everything else will be ready soon as I do not want to do a staggered harvest. Been noticing its hard to capture the frost on them with my camera as the overhead lights mess up the photo somehow. notice when they are beside the tent with reflected light on them it shows up a bit better so took some individual selfies of them on a back background. Liverwort is also doing well, once this plant is all done I have a feeling its going to like its new home. I want to see how big I can get it, it also have a bunch of smaller off shoots starting now as well beside the main plant, in some of the other pots I also have mosses :D Also PSA: remember to clean your intake filters if you have any, they get dusty and lower your CFM rating of the extractor fans in the tent. and if you use a carbon filter its already getting lowered a lot.

Week 3
