Often, marijuana growers who have their plants in indoor grow tents or rooms with artificial lighting, take into account parameters such as temperature and relative humidity to maximize plants growth and bloom, thus obtaining abundant harvest with top quality flowers. As we will see later, these factors affect different processes of the plant, such as transpiration or nutrient uptake. However, we usually forget about another important factor that is related to the aforementioned ones: vapor pressure deficit or VPD. Broadly speaking, VPD is the difference between the amount of water vapor that the atmosphere is able to retain (which depends on temperature) and the amount of water vapor contained in it (relative humidity). It is usually measured in kilopascals (kPa). Providing our plants with a correct relationship between temperature and relative moisture will keep us on the right VPD parameters, increasing the plant’s activity and thus improving its growth and showing its full potential during the flowering phase. The ideal would be to adjust both parameters (temperature and humidity) to get the best possible VPD value, so that the development of plants will be amazing.In the chart above you can see the right temperature and moisture values to maximize the development of cannabis plants. The green zone shows you optimal values of VPD, in which it would be ideal to maintain the environment. The orange zone shows correct values, in which plants should not have problems to develop normally. However, red areas show values in which your plants will be very far from hit their full potential, since the relation between temperature and moisture is not optimal. With relatively high values of VPD (between 5 and 12) plants tend to open their stomata and release a considerable amount of water vapor into the environment (increasing their transpiration). This increase in transpiration results in an increase in the plant’s photosynthetic activity, which will need more nutrients and will improve its overall growth, both during growth and bloom. The best range is between 7.5 and 10.5, which we have marked in green. However, we must be careful that VPD is not too high (dark red zone) since the plant would close its stomata to avoid releasing too much water vapor to the environment, which would result in fast dehydration due to excessive transpiration. On the other hand, if VPD is too low (light red zone), the plant will also close its stomata for not releasing more water into the atmosphere, which in this case would be already saturated (it would have reached the maximum water retention capacity in a specific temperature). In this way, reducing transpiration will also reduce photosynthesis, which has a direct impact on the plant’s development and yield. That way, VPD is essential when it comes to offer the best conditions for the development of plants, also to understand its water requirements according to the nutrients used and thus adjust them correctly to meet the grower’s expectations. Hello,,, fin de semaine 4 de floraison. Pour le moment tout semble ok. Les fleurs commencent leurs prises de masse. Les trichomes comment aussi leurs apparition. L’odeur se fait plus forte aussi. Je vais probablement attendre encore une semaine pour refaire une très légère défoliation et supprimer quelques suckers dans les parties basses de la plantes. Voilà pour cette semaine... Hoping to keep Veg Nutrients high this week, and be prepared to switch/transition into the Flowering formulas at the sight of “Hairs” being formed on bud sites. -switched the direction of my light, to make the most efficient use of the light hood itself. Sticking with the diagonal set-up in the tent. Mon; chemistry is listed above ***plant was originally super-cropped between the 3rd & 4th node, there’s not much room underneath*** 4th / 5th node might be worth considering next time. - soil / sand-coating seems really dry. This 2nd week will see feeding every other day. Nutes will remain as is Until there’s changes ** Uv-B was brought to my attention a few weeks ago, (thx DoDrugs420) and I am going to run a side by side test on it. Later this week I plan to install a 18” uv-b tube above one of the two plants, for the duration of Flower. *** Working with stakes again is kinda fun. But I also remember nearly poking my eye out several times with them. Safety glasses and Marking the Ends of the Stakes is a really good method of preventing accidents *** Wed Dec 30th - Food includes Unsulphured Molasses tonight. Still including it every third watering/feeding -Going to wait one more feed before adding some bloom nutes. Crazy growth and activity at the bud sites. (4ml/gal down to 1.0-1.5ml/g by the end of week 6) Same goes for CaliMagic. I’ve taken it higher than previously, (5ml vs 2ml ) and the results are obvious. Time to let these numbers drop a bit, make room for Bloom.

Week 8 (4/11/22 - 4/17/22) Took 9 cuttings, dipped in Clonex and plugged into presoaked rockwool cubes. Once rooted, the plan is to take 6 cuttings into the flower tent.

63 days in, and she is starting to get really frosty. She is maxed on nutes. Still producing lots of white pistols. When I start seeing Amber Trichromes on the flower I am gonna start flushing. Happy farming out there Grow Diaries.

Actualizamos familia, con la primera semana de floración de estas HulkBerry de RoyalQueenSeeds. Tienen un color bien verde sin carencias por el momento y se ve que están sanas, las plantas están en macetas de 7 Litros definitivamente, con tierra top crop, con una altura similar a 40 cms. Como los anteriores cultivos tuve visitantes(trips) estoy rociando aceite de neem y jabón potásico 1 vez a la semana, añadí también tiras de color azul / amarillo para prevenir y controlar mejor el tema plagas. El riego que aplicamos son 600ml de agua cada 48 horas y el ph se controla en 6.5, la temperatura la tenemos entre 22/25 grados y la humedad ronda el 55% gracias al humidificador. El ciclo lo cambiamos hace una semana a 12h de luz/ 12h de oscuridad, el mismo día que escribo esto el foco está al 75% de potencia.
