Hey! Welcome to week 9 for Karen! Week 8 is now complete so please go and check it out 🙏. Big week last week... massive.
Day 57: Fertigated 6l. Height 40cm.
Day 58: Scent has stepped up again and I'm noticing some of bud sites starting to develop frost.
Day 58.5 Flushed with 20l of PH & CalMag.
Day 59: reorganised tent
Day 60: Fertigated 3l. Karen has put on a load of frost in the last 24h. I mean seriously. Smell stepped up again. Height 44cm.
Day 60.5: I have had a really good look at other KKA grows. I think Karen is going to need a few extra weeks. I think she will be ready for harvest in about week 14. So I think we have about another 4-5 weeks to go.
Day 61: Adjusted the LST a bit. She's frosting rapidly now. 😍😍🤩 Height 45cm. Width: 60cm x 70cm
Day 61.5: It is only 8 days since I *heavily* defoliated and I think I probably should do it again already. Things are progressing well at the moment though so I am trying to resist doing it too soon. She is still stretching.
Day 61.75: Right, I have done some research and I have made a decision,. I'm going to give Karen 2 full weeks from the last defoliation on day 53, so on day 67 (i.e half way through next week) I will defoliate and perform final LST just to space out the colas a bite more at the "top" of the plant.

Week Summary: Another big week with a plant barely recognisable from herself a week ago. As well as the ongoing stretch she has started to frost over this week and I am hoping this continues because more and more is appearing all over the place.

Things are looking good. I'm in a bit of a time crunch so I think I'm going to harvest early. Sometime this week probably, just shy of 8 weeks. Cool strain to grow. Very interesting calyx formations at the crowns. I dried a couple small buds and threw them in my vape a few days later and the terpenes seem great. Can't wait to see how it tastes fully cured.
I'm going to wash and decarb the buds before curing them, and I've never done that before, so I'll post that here too.

1️⃣18.08.23- 49 дней от каски и третья неделя цвета. Все стабильно , полет нормальный , шишки растут .
Добавил booster bloom .
2️⃣22.08.23- Рост прекратился и сфокусировался на увеличении почек .
Был проведен flash clean и изменен ппм в сторону меньшей концентрации .
Так как этот сорт не любит большого количества удобрений

Day 54 of week 8 flowering
This week I have continued to flush and I am a bit surprised that the plants are still not showing their amber warning light!
This means I started to flush to early as I was expecting the clones to be harvested around now, This info will really help me planning the next crop of clones.
I also defoliated the canopy to allow for the smaller buds to ripen.

So far these girls are beginning their push towards early stages of flowering! Each node is slowly developing pistils, new growth & reaching for the light! They've widened quite a bit seeing as both plants are slowly making their way outside the edge of their 6.6 gallon autopots. I'm noticing the increase in water consumption with no signs of new deficiencies at the 1.7EC 5.8ph. I will be increasing the the EC to 2.0 after flowering begins to progress.

Today 7/30/19, day 57 and the start of week 9. I'm still continuing to alternate between days with my pesticide treatment (especially after finding that bug living on one of hulkberries fan leaf) and thrive alive green daily foliage spray as a prophylactic solution against any possible pests or mold going into these last few dog days of veg. I will flush them with distilled ph'd water for two days this weekend in preparation for flower. Then I'll start them on some "flower fuel" bloom booster on top of my secret for success flower recipe at 1/4 of the recommended strength.
Outside of that still no adverse issue to report for the end of the 8th week. After my last trim, they both have responded very nicely, I was kind of worried about fat banana stalled growth. But one thing I noticed when I topped her at the 6th node, yes the main stem stopped growing but it developed many bud sites up and down every stem. Whereas hulkberry was topped at the 8th node, she has mainly focused on developing long stems and only 2 or 3 bud sites along her stems. Even though hulkberry in structure, is much bigger than fat banana and has a way bigger root system. Fat banana is bushier and has developed way more bud sites than hulkberry. I can't tell which strain will yield the most at this point only time will tell!
Also, a big shout out to "J"@RQS, thank you for the excellent customer service. Another reason why Royal Queen Seeds is top 3 in breeding!!

13th week. If I am not wrong I started 12/12 light schedule with 36 hours darkness before at beggining of the week 7, so it is the 7th week of flowering.... or 6th ?😅 Well buds are getting thicker, and just checked the trichomes now they are more matured but still need I think at least 3 weeks to be done properly. When I see the milky trichomes, I will start flushing. Wednesday: End of the week Purple Punch is 43 cm like before. Buds are thicker smelly and a lot of resin. It is totally coated with THC, and sticks my finger together. This is the last day I fertilized the plant, from tomorrow I will start flushing. I will give maximum 2 more weeks to be done. I also removed some more fan leaves (those are getting yellow) so I will make some tea. I really love the citrus taste and the smell of this plant.

Purple tip cutting seems to be taking .#1 is filling out well lots of fresh flowers stacking up nicely.#2,#3,#4 all doing well👍hope they finish up in 4weeks🙏 No feeding this week just molasses for soil microbes,

Did some defoiliating and green tie 's to spread out lower branches on #1 . she is a beast. Seeing, some differences between #2,#3,#4 .#4 being darker green, #3 is paler green #2 not as pale, #1 lighter green but not pale at all. Given deep soaking today, and I noticed phase 3 flowering is starting!🙏 should start stacking them fat buds for next couple of weeks hope she done at 10 weeks fingers crossed.

Last week of the plant, she continued yellowing, weird week with huge variations of conditions when the sun hits directly, but generally cold temperatures are here, specially at night, and high humidity, we are having a rainy week, it rained every 2 or 3 hours...
Planned to harvest, the later the better, but having in mind temperatures, humididty and sunlight, it will be when im stimating the best day, and finally it was October 18th. after 2 days plenty of sun, chopped the first of the bad days that were coming, in the morning ..

Today October 25th is the First day of Week 6 In Flower.
Received the Refractometer and got right to pressing. First I tried a mortar and pestle to extract the sap -- this worked ok but took a lot of time and force. Then I tried 2 spoons held together and squeezed with vice grips (didn't work for me). 2 Pieces of MDF board squeezed together with vice grips didn't work either. I guess I'm not strong enough.
Tried a blender, a hand blender...neither of these worked!
Then the vice, it was faster and took less force to extract the sap. Works great!
Took leaves from top to bottom of each individual plant. (16 plants) Rolled a few leaves up, put in a numbered piece of parchment and pressed.....voila...sap😃 Refractometer was already calibrated and ready to go.
Placed sap on meter, held up to light and there it is! My first BRIX reading😮 using $28 Refractometer.
Going to change base nutrients to a "hard water" formula. So impressed with Harley Smith that I've ordered some NPK RAW products. Like the idea of micro dosing. I sent Harley an email and he replied the same day! Not a canned response either. So cool. Thanks Harley! AND he took a look at GrowDiaries and this grow✊😃 What a kind gentleman. 😇
Hope I didn't go overboard but I watered again today with amino acids and cal mend to try to fix this Calcium def. Will Brix leaves tomorrow and see if this makes a difference. The brix line yesterday was very clear and very easy to read indicating a calcium def. Maybe locked out from too much phosphorous or hard water?
Watered Oct 29 & 30 Temp 20 PH 6.4 EC 1.9
Runoff EC 1.9 to 2.3 after at least 2-3 Gallons of water put thru each pot. Some pots Runoff were way off the charts😵EC 3.6! . Put water thru until EC hit 2.3 on 2 pots others were EC 1.9 to 2.1. Put 56 Gallons or 220L thru plants over a 2 day period until I reached a better EC.

Bueno después de no poder poner las últimas etapas, sobre la semana 8/9 hicimos el corte de la planta, dos semanas antes de lo pensado ya que tuve que recoger todo el armario para montar el nuevo proyecto la verdad la cortamos con dos semanas antes de tiempo. Un sabor rico muy a especias. La cantidad en seco fue nada más ni menos que 64,5g, unos 20gs por planta muy bien. Buen sabor, no rasca y muy buen colocón. La verdad la volvería a repetir!

The summer was super wet and humid so she lost 2 of the big buds to mold.
Other than that she did great! really big, vigorous and heavy, dense buds. All arround winner. Really looking forward to the seeds.
