New week, new growth.. Will hopefully start the LST and Topping in a few days. They are really starting to grow. Fan leaves looking healthy and big. Girls coming with vigorous growth now, everything dialled in and happy. Just adjusting the EC/pH as needed when the girls show me the relevant signs/deficiencies if any. D31/D35- Decided they were in a good enough place to start topping the girls, all 6 topped and just some defoliation of the bigger fan leaves that are shading the growth shoots some HST was also done. We were also due a water change, so I cleaned the whole system just to keep things extra cleanly, very important in a RDWC system. I also switched over to a sterile system instead of using beneficial bacteria so I will experiment and see how this goes. Time to let the girls ecover before the next training session. Week 8: The Bakery is Open! 🎂👃 The Update: We are officially in full bloom mode! If last week was about the frost starting, this week is all about the bulk. The Wedding Cake is living up to her name the smell is getting sweeter, heavier, and definitely more pungent. Bud Development: The PK 13-14 is doing its magic. The colas are visibly swelling day by day, and the calyxes are stacking up beautifully. The "popcorn" buds lower down are hardening up thanks to that defoliation last week. Most pistils are still white, but I'm spotting a few starting to turn amber/orange as she matures. Nutrients & Care: Continuing with the "heavy hitter" mix: Bio-Bloom & Top-Max: keeping the sugars high. PK 13-14: pushing that density. Environment: Temps are steady at 25°C. I'm keeping a very close watch on humidity (aiming to drop it slightly below 65% if possible) to keep mold away from these chunky flowers. Next Steps: Just letting her bake! The structure is set, now it's just a waiting game for them to ripen. ⏳

73 Day 10 Weeks to Harvest

Seedlings stretched a bit had to put them under the light early. Popped 2 seeds initially with 2 freebies I got, unfortunately the freebies didn't germinate in a week so I tossed them and popped two more Dolatos and all four germinated with 100% success rate. Kept them on a 20/4 schedule watering them only once and sprayed the top soil with a mister every now and again. 👍🏿

This week went well for the Durban Nights. Not much to report, she hit day 14 today and is working on her 3rd node, I will transplant her in 48 hours, then hopefully top her in about a week or less. I will wait for her to grow at least 7 nodes so I am sure her roots are solid before the topping, but she will absolutely explode after transplanted into coco coir so that shouldnt be a problem. I will also complete the first two sets of toppings at the 3rd node, so that should shave a little time off as well as I previously completed the 2nd and 3rd toppings at the 5th and 3rd node to further spread out the plant. Super excited for this strain as it is a cross of Durban Thai and Jack Herer which are two of my favorite Sative Strains. I hope everyone has a safe weekend. We're now at week 10 and about a week or so left until I decide to chop this bush down and begin drying and curing. I haven't really been doing much this week besides trimming one or two leaves off, the week prior I have removed only 4 during the whole week and the plant in whole has still been developing rapidly. This is supposedly the last week from the breeders description that the plant should be mature enough but with the transplant in the beginning stunting it for a week has probably been enough reason why growth was unstable during the whole time, I sort of felt it as well when it started flowering at such a small size. I've learn my mistake have redeemed myself with the care i gave it after the stunting. The lower bud sites are still deep green as if they haven't received enough light and I tried to fix that by lowering the light but the taller colas were getting too close (at least 5-8" close) so I decided to leave it at around 10-13" away so I don't disrupt the growing environment too much. I don't want to open the tent too much too now that it stinks up my small room in seconds and sometimes creeps through the doors out to the other rooms and outside the house if my window is open so I'll be looking into the tent when i need to water, fix something with the irrigation system, fix the height of the light, or get ready to harvest. I don't think I will be defoliating anymore since all bud sites are exposed to an extent and I just overall don't want to bother her and watch her naturally do the rest. I will be giving it another week or so to catch up making it around 75-80 days in total. I will be flushing it by now since i've looked at the trichomes on the most and least developed to find that it's starting to amber already with about a quarter turning white so purging the nutes now will be essential towards the end, i'm pretty excited and hope you guys are too.

The buds are beginning to swell more and more everyday. The smell is very pungent I can’t wait to see the results for this plant I am very pleased with the way everything is coming out.
