******** Week 9 - Feb 3 to 9/20 (Days 57 - 63 from seed popping out) She has continued to swell this week and stacking her buds. The hairs are turning this week. Kind of a boring week in a way because she has been such an awesome girl to grow!! Have not spent anytime looking at Trich colour this week.....too early anyway. What I have reflected on is that this girl has been very impressive to grow even though I have thrown curve balls at her. A little more attention to the LST ensuring a more even canopy and lighten the feedings, this girl can impress!😍 I wouldn’t get let her go in a tent as she will likely be kissing the light at some point😃 XL strain anyways.💪 On bigger branches I would clip off another node lower than I did to give a little more energy to fill in the tops. Not sure this girls top colas will fill in as much as one would like but........take your time girl😀 Much debate this week over how long she will run in order to determine her last feed.🤪 She had her last feed three times😃 but it was finally Saturday Feb 8, Day 62 as the last day of feed. Plan it to just flush with water and Rezin & Liquid Weight to the end.....or early 70’s anyway. Changed the light schedule again this week. Moved her to 19.5 hours of light because she is still not falling to sleep at lights out. Given she has been very green and tips were burnt a fair bit, will likely use Flawless Finish to flush the medium. Little more detail: Feb 3/20 - Day 57 - Water feed today. Runoff in tray was 6.3pH from yesterday. - 3L plain water. 30ppm and 5.8pH going in. - One minute she looks to be swelling and then others you think she is stalling.....”watched pot” idea. Feb 4/20 - Day 58 - Full feed today. Pot still had some weight. - 3L off full feed with 1125ppm and 6.05pH - Runoff water in tray before feed: 1900ppm and 6.5pH - Runoff water in tray after feed: 1800ppm and 6.3pH - Heavy leaf strip today. She is sticky :) Feb 5/20 - Day 59 - nothing today. - noticing more red hairs today....starting to finish more.....lower is still nice and white.....harvest in stages???? - Light cycle changed to 19.5hrs on and 4.5hrs off. Feb 6/20 - Day 60 - Verify medium today....close to flush - 3L feed of Sensyzime and Rezin @ 2ml/L and Liquid Weight @ 1.5ml/L. = 100ppm and 5.8pH - Runoff was 1450ppm and 6.4pH. - Followed the feed with 2L of 5.2pH water with Sensyzime & Liquid Weight.....bring down pH. - runoff after that was 1100ppm and 6.3pH.....better :) Feb 7/20 - Day 61 - Nothing today, still heavy. Feb 8/20 - Day 62 - ********Last Feed******** - Giving a bit of a flush with Sensyzime, Rezin, and Liquid weight @ 2ml. - 6L feed with 100ppm and 5.25pH going in. - Runoff - 350ppm and 6.3pH. - Evening giver her last full strength feed as listed for the week. - Going in was 5.2pH as she was not coming down much with high 5pH feeds. - Medium got a good soak and good runoff amount - That will be it. Hope she goes 10 to 14 more days.... Feb 9/20 - Day 63 - Dry out day - raised the light a bit.....will use lower pH water in flush......not much else other than let her dry out at this stage....... - her top colas are pushing out more new growth. - the tops are getting wider and forming a point more. I am very proud of this girl ! Despite the fact that she is younger than the rest by two weeks, she caught up with her friends in height and even surpassed them :) The giant fan leaves are surprising 😃

8/30 Rained yesterday and pretty much all night. Plants looked happy this morning. I'm thinking about feeding today or tomorrow. The late flowering special kush doesn't have much longer and it will be done. I'm going to need to do another treatment for the thrips. Nights are so cold that I think they aren't a major problem. No signs of septoria either. No signs of ANY molds or mildew. Even where I took the pillar out but I removed a lot. I am noticing (especially on the pink kush and the special kush in the back) the wierd "top hat" lower buds like I previously did. I don't think it's the chipmunk. It's like they eat fresh buds and leave the top there. I think it might be earwigs but I haven't seen ANY. Birds have been keeping my garden pretty clean. Almost everytime I walk down there it's like a flock of birds takes off lol. I was watching the little finches all perched on my cage. I've seen them dart in and grab a snack. It's pretty cool how it works. Symbiotic relationship. I feed the birds amd they help keep my garden pest free. EDIT: Went to check the girls around 430. It seems like everytime I see the flowers they've swelled in size. Especially the natural mk ultra. Everything is really coming together. Pink kush is behind but it's starting. I'm getting lots of fall colors but I'm losing lots of leaves too. I wouldn't have defoliated as good as I have if I hadn't had problems. I thought the plants were done getting taller or stretching but after this rain they ALL seem taller. The buds are swelling as well. I'm on the home stretch with the early special kush. Few more weeks. Everything looked amazing tonight. I wanted to take some pictures but I left my phone. Smell is greatly increasing. 8/31 I don't get how we got NO rain the ENTIRE summer but it's rained the past few nights? Maines bipolar weather I guess. I see the same shit as prior years. Something crawls up and eats small shoots and developing buds but leaves larger ones alone. I thought it was earwigs before. I'm not sure now. I'll have to go look at night and figure out what's eating shit. It's just small secondary shoots mostly. Stuff I should've pruned but I leave on so the won't eat my fucking colas. I got some work to do but I'm getting closer. 9/1 Well we made it to September. Pink kush is finally STARTING to form little buds. After some research (and watching those fucking locusts try to fly into my cage but can't because they are to fucking big. I was lucky I found that enormous one on the stalk of the furthest special kush right where the tip cola starts. Luckily I was able to get him. Didn't have to take pics or a video or even check if they need water. It rained a little last night and the buds were a little wet. I'm planning to feed when I get back. If they need water I'll give it to them. My early special kush is getting real close. I want to harvest at peak timing but sometimes exigent circumstances screw that up. However i think I'll be able to let this girl finish properly. EDIT: Went back over to check weights and everything was super heavy. Plants are all turning fall colors. I checked the trichs on my special kush, mk ultra and 10th planet. Everything looked great in the sun! Everything is swelling and getting frostier everyday. I'm hoping that the pink kushs will finish. My early special kush LOOKS like it should be done but it's not. Looking at the trichs and stigmas it needs more time. I've found on several plants that between the; giant caterpillars, earwigs and pillars that they can take a whole branch and pretty much decimate it in a night. I chased one of those giant locusts around my Cafe and it finally got out. Bastard was almost the size of a small bird! I should feed tonight and possibly do a treatment for pests. 9/2 Had to shake to plants off again. Bags are still heavy. I'll probably feed tonight. I'm noticing tons of damage on lower and interior branches. The grasshoppers or locusts or whatever they are can strip a whole branch! They can even bite through little stems. I'll never grow outside without floating row covers again. The special kush is getting really close. Sometime this week I'll look for a mature tester bud. Both MK ULTRAS are exploding in flower and getting frostier daily.

Advent aus der richtigen Zeitzone =) 🌱 Wochenupdate Diese Woche wurde echt viel gefummelt 😄 Im Fokus standen Canopy-Aufbau und selektives Entlauben =) Bin da wirklich pingelig und könnte das den ganzen Tag machen… echt schlimm 😅 Was ich jetzt schon sagen kann: Blueberry Cupcake hat mit Abstand den krassesten Stretch hingelegt. Purpz hat ihren Platz auch relativ gefüllt, performt echt gut und ist fast gleichauf mit BBCC. Notorious zieht auch, soll aber wohl etwas später definierter drücken. Mir gefällt ihr Wachstum richtig gut. Guzzlerz macht sich auch echt gut für ihren schlechten Start. Ihre Sides gehen mittlerweile richtig steil. Ein paar mehr Triebe wären nice gewesen, aber da lag sicher auch einiges an mir.. :D Abseits meiner Dummheiten lief alles absolut smooth. Eine tolle Veg und richtig gute Stretch-Phase bis jetzt =D🔥 🌿 Pflanzenstatus & Training Ich halte die Canopy aktuell noch flach – für zwei, drei Tage =) Anschließend steht das Verteilen auf die Meshes an. Danach dürfen sie endlich nach oben =D Die Richtungen sind grob gelegt, erste Ansätze sieht man auch schon =D Ich kann’s echt nicht erwarten… Budporn ist einfach magisch 😄🔥 Über die Tage sind immer wieder größere oder verdrehte Blätter rausgeflogen – hauptsächlich, um Luft und Licht auf möglichst viele Triebe zu bekommen 😊 Man kann wirklich ohne Bedenken ~30 % Biomasse rausnehmen, wenn die Vitalität das zulässt, ohne sichtbaren Stop im Wachstum 🌱 🌬️ Luft & Ventilation Hab jetzt noch zwei Clip-Ventis dazugezogen. Die Angst vor Schimmel kickt langsam wieder =D Es laufen jetzt zwei unter und zwei über der Canopy – jeweils gegenüberliegend und zirkulierend. Ich muss gestehen, dass ich den Boundary-Layer-Disruption-Effekt kenne bzw. davon weiß, und ihn durchaus stimmig finde 😊 Aber bis jetzt war die Angst vor Schimmel in irgendeiner Ecke doch größer 😂 Ich hab nicht den Eindruck, dass es negativ ist, zirkulierende Luft auf die Pflanzen zu richten, solange man nicht voll draufpustet 💨 ⚙️ System Läuft nach wie vor stabil =) Die Top-Ups halten die Nährlösung sauber auf Kurs. Gestern hat sich klar abgezeichnet, dass wir mitten im Stretch-Peak sind 😄 Sie ziehen massiv Kationen und verursachen dadurch einen deutlich messbaren pH-Drop. How did you create/breed Freakshow? A. Methodical selection, line breeding, and culling is the short answer. Read our About page for more details. Q. Is it an indoor or outdoor type? A. Everything I've ever worked has been outdoors, including of course Freakshow. It has been our experience that outdoor (or sun grown, as it's recently being referred to) cultivars seem to perform extremely well under artificial conditions. This is true of seed starts or clones made from seed starts. The opposite is not always true; indoor clones often give an outdoor grower headaches because they don't always make the transition smoothly. This is due to light spectrum, temperature, and/or photoperiod changes. Yes, Freakshow will do exceedingly well indoors, and will thrive and mature just fine in a wide variety of natural environments as well, so it's definitely both and I think might even prove to be more resilient to those sorts of transitions. Q. What are the potency and terpenoid levels? A. Average 18-20% THCa, THC; negligible CBD, CBN with terps variable, averaging 2.5-3.5, primarily limonene and pinene, but this is variable, there was a lot of diversity in terp combinations and compositions in all the prior generations, it's just something that was left "as is" for now. The different parallel lines that we are developing can be directed in a few different pathways flavorwise. Q. Why are the seeds white? A. Why is the sky blue? No, the mature seeds are shrouded by a rice paper thin membrane which has coloring and mottling on it, but it's so fragile that it disintegrates in the process of shucking. Stripped of the outer layer the seeds are very pale, nearly white. It came as no surprise that this plant would have abnormal seeds. Q. Is it a GMO? A. Wow...? Well, it's seriously "modified" and the modifications are definitely genetic, and it is an organism. (Genuinely Modified Organically!) Uh, no. The exact heritage of any cultivar today is impossible to determine accurately. Also, considering the amount of continuous shameless hybridization that has occurred in the last 40 yrs., any modern kind could easily contain over 40 kinds. In the case of Freakshow, it's much more limited because the ancestry is largely older "Sativas" that didn't go through as much outcrossing. In the 70s in Santa Cruz, Haze was a favorite among surfers for the pure energy and I still have (greatly improved) stock of it around, simply because even when I made hybrids with it I always kept the original in pure form for obvious reasons. Q. What is the psychoactive effect like? A. Like the flavors, many people have commented that the "buzz" is somewhat different than other mainstream types out there. It's not entirely out of the scope of imagination that given that this strain has new alleles in so many other respects, that it could also contain new, unique cannabinoids, as well as new and unique terpenoids, some of which may not even be among the standard 16 or so that the average lab is testing for. Aside from the up, cerebral, energetic boost, some report a mild time/space warp effect. Creativity and idea induction should be mentioned, for sure. Freakshow has the pure energy effect and greatly alters perception to the positive side, so definitely destroys depression. Appetite suppression is a side effect, but the enjoyment of food is enhanced. I personally will attest to all of the above. We all have different receptor profiles, so these are just generalizations. On many occasions in the last few years, it has been observed that when pest and mildew issues were affecting other plants adjacent to in the vicinity of Freakshow plants, for unknown reasons the freaks remained entirely unaffected. This includes 0botritis, PM, various mites and insects, soil fungus, etc. We haven't heard any complaints along those lines so far, so if anyone has any problems, especially with a rigorous IPM regimen in place, we would like to hear about it. And if anyone can attest to the extreme level of resistance it seems to have we'd love to hear about that as well. Q. Does it contain web-leaf genetics? A. I thought I better clarify this because there are a few people thinking that because of an article "Growing Marijuana that Doesn't look like Marijuana" that mentions that I had worked web-leaf types years ago and had eventually turned that into Freakshow. This is incorrect and I'm needing to get ahold of the writer to have him change it. When I read the piece and saw the mistake I figured it didn't matter that much, that the actual method of breeding could just remain a "trade secret". Recently, I noticed online that a posting, "Freakshow only exists because of duckfoot" by Curious Cannabis Connoisseur, where he explains how I developed Freakshow using Duckfoot. Let me explain, about 20 yrs. ago a friend gave me a jar of seeds labeled "BC Bigbud" and I sprouted flats of hundreds to look for oddities and had found one web-leaf pheno which we named Webster. It was a female so I bred it to a normal leaf male and began selecting and stabilizing a line of Webster. About 5 or 6 generations later I had nailed it to 100% webs and had also stabilized it for a deep purple color and a nice "gingerbread" terp profile. I was busy working other lines at that point so I put Webster in the library. Also, I was having a hell of a time getting a pheno of it that flowered to my satisfaction. (it seemed to finish with a limited number of calyxes). I knew I would have to outcross it to something with a big tasty bud and restabilize it for web-leaf, and I no longer had the original BC Bigbud. I still have the Webster seeds, and trust me the thought has crossed my mind to make the cross with Freakshow, but why? Why mess around crossing things just to create something even weirder? I have heard that the "Duckfoot" also doesn't bud up well so maybe there's a correlation there. Anyway, people can do what they want to and I will too, but crossing Freakshow with some low-THC crap like ABC is in my opinion idiotic. I worked extremely hard stabilizing and perfecting a beautiful new subspecies and I believe it should be kept pure. I won't go on a rant here about the rampant crossing and the lack of line-breeding in the cannabis world in the last several decades, or where this will eventually lead us, but I will say that it's not in a good direction. Bottom line....Freakshow has no web-leaf genes, it was made using top-grade tropical narrow-leaf drug (NLD) cultivars. Q.Why is Freakshow patented? A. Although I and most others (including all the folks at HSC) believe in and subscribe to the concept of "open sourcing" because sharing in cannabis genetics was always the cultural norm, it was decided that Freakshow should be protected (1) because it is a novel and unique, not a preexisting strain (or even subspecies), (2) To keep the greedy corporate big boys from exploiting it, (3) To maintain control of the genetic refinement of it in all future generations. D63 - The start of another week. I completely forgot to take any pics in time so grabbed a quick one right after the lights were out. I'll post better pics tomorrow. D64 - I watered each girl with 2.5-liters of water @ pH 6.5, and snapped some better pics. ;) D68 - All is well in the tent. I gave each girl 2.5-liters of compost tea @ pH 6.5. I also did some additional defoliation. D69 - The end of the final week of veg. The girls are healthy and vibrant. #1 is starting to get bigger than #2, even though she is one week younger. She is also more thirsty so I gave her around 1.2-liters of water @ pH 6.5 while #2 didn't need any.
