Which means airflow and internal light penetration become critical early. And that’s exactly why this week mattered. ⸻ 🍃 The Defoliation — Not Aesthetic. Architectural. This was not cosmetic trimming. It was: • Removing large fan leaves blocking interior bud sites • Cleaning inner congestion • Opening airflow channels • Resetting light distribution across the canopy • Helping the entire room environment (not just this plant) The room needed air — this plant was advanced enough to handle stress. That’s key. Week 3 of flower is the transition window: • Stretch is slowing • Bud sites are set • Energy shifts toward stacking At this stage, a strategic defoliation: • Improves transpiration efficiency • Reduces microclimate humidity pockets • Prevents internal leaf-to-leaf condensation • Encourages bud site activation below the top canopy This was structural architecture. Not haircut vanity. ⸻ 🌡️ 28°C in Flower — “Too Hot?” Let’s Go Deep. People panic when they hear 28°C in flower. But here’s where most growers confuse: 🔥 HPS vs LED Heat Behavior Under HPS: • Radiant heat warms leaf surfaces directly • Leaf temperature often equals or exceeds room temp • 28°C air under HPS can mean 30–32°C leaf temp • That pushes VPD dangerously high Under LED: • Less infrared radiation • Leaf surface temp is typically 1–3°C LOWER than room temp • So at 28°C room temp, leaf temp might be 25–26°C And VPD calculations depend on leaf temperature, not air temperature. ⸻ 🌿 What Is Leaf VPD? VPD (Vapor Pressure Deficit) measures the difference between: • Moisture inside the leaf • Moisture in the surrounding air But if you calculate VPD using only room temp, you’re missing the real transpiration dynamics. With: • 28°C air • ~25–26°C leaf surface (LED) • 65% RH Leaf VPD sits in a very workable mid-flower zone. Not extreme. Not stress-inducing. Not shutdown territory. We’re driving metabolism, not cooking terpenes. ⸻ 💧 Why 65% RH Isn’t Dangerous Here Context matters: • Good airflow • Opened canopy • Compact but cleaned structure • Early-mid flower (Week 3, not Week 7) At this stage: • Pistils are forming • Bud density is still moderate • Transpiration is active High humidity becomes dangerous when: • Bud mass is dense • Internal airflow is poor • Late flower resin traps moisture We’re not there yet. And we just improved airflow with defoliation. ⸻ ⚡ EC 2.9 — Aggressive but Intentional That EC is strong. But: • Plant is compact, not oversized • Sour Diesel can eat • pH 6.5 keeps availability wide (Ca, Mg, P balance) The key will be: • Watching leaf tips • Monitoring runoff behavior • Watching for clawing or salt stress Right now, if she’s praying and stacking, she’s handling it. ⸻ 🔍 What To Expect Next Week (Flower Week 4) After defoliation: You may see: • Slight pause (24–72 hours) • Increased vertical bud push • Better lower-site activation • More defined pistil clustering • Stronger apical dominance response If recovery is clean: • Buds begin early stacking phase • Internodes tighten • Resin production initiates at bract level If stress appears: • Slight leaf droop • Tip burn acceleration • Reduced upward leaf angle But based on structure and timing — this looks calculated, not reactive. ⸻ 🧠 Why This Week Matters Long-Term This week determines: • Airflow pattern for late flower • Mold resistance later • Bud density uniformity • Final trim efficiency • Light-to-bud conversion efficiency This wasn’t about now. Lesson learned - wet leaves + close lamps fry plants! Plant seems to be bouncing back in a big way. Watered with a garden globe kept it mostly moist, had a couple dry days and today Apr 4 watered from the bottom in a tub for two hours. taken out of tub and placed back on riser twenty minutes before lights on. Photo taken three hours later after some minor defoliation and tucking. Seems like flowering is happening and timing wise we turned the corner just in time for plant health and environment correction. Loving the aquarium rock top layer over soil for aesthetic and love the vivid green on this plant what a beauty! thank you to sweet seeds for a tough baby girl who is turning into a fine young woman! Any and all feedback welcome this is a new hobby for me. Previously have started jalepeno peppers indoors and then moved to outdoor container for summer, but never a grow tent like this wow.

She's doing nicely so far pleased with this pheno the structure is good , sadly she is only getting twelve hours due to photoperiods taking up space

theres a total of 8 branches all same length exept the 2 in the middle. 10weeks from seed here This is by far the best strain i ever grown. Not just because of the legendary Og Kush x Bluberry x Gorilla Glue #4 cross. The smell, the leaves, the branches, and the space between every node and how big everything is. This is just insane the smell is legendary. This strain deserves so much more awards

Chopped on day 73. The last plant in this diary still growing is Mix pack #1.

Week 13 for Gelato 41 by Seedstockers What a monster she's becoming... cant believe she still has 2/3 months of veg to go😂😂 Hasn't been fed in 2 weeks only when nature rains on her😎 Still going to be pulling her side ways while i have room to do so & bending some branches in the middle to give her nice an even growth distribution. Have some ugly jumping spider friends keeping her clean from any unwanted buddies👊 Not going to defoliate at all this week i don't think just going to keep letting her do her own thing! Think its safe to say the roots are nicely settled in her big pot😂 The excitement for this girl to go into flower is REAL definitely going to be 64+ tops on her.

Hello mate growers, All was fine this week, In this end week stretch start to be impressive, I up lamp each days, #3 is really biggest than others. I continue to give 2l water/pot 1 time grow tab + water 1 time grow tab + sugar royal + water Each 3/4 days I up a bit my power lamp each days, I'm now around 75% I'll probably remove some leaves and buds in shadows, next week, And start bloom fertilizer, Have a good week mates!

I don’t think I ever had white powdery mildew and I was just noid of every little dust particle that came around. All good. I’m now battling high temps as we don’t have central air and it’s mid 90s outside. Most likely about to buy an ac unit. LST seemed to go ok but we shall see. Overall very pleased w my results so far. Cheers

Little late on the upload of the diary. She has made day 56 with no real issues. Minor leaf damage from a few pests. The weather has been mostly sunny with 2 days of rain. Purple hues are starting to show up in the buds!😍

Did some adjustment to the lights this week nothing else , water with nutrients every day when light turns on , i love growing in Coco 👍

Gave them transition nutes this week and they'll be going into the flower room today. 🌺 I grabbed some clones from these girls but they ain't looking too hot rn. The runt I left untapped so hopefully it catches up with the others during the stretch. 🤷‍♂️🏽🌱🌿
