Day 22 - 8/5 - I'm liking Plagron, I'm just going to stop checking ppms in or out from now on, just 5.8 ph for now. - 5.5" tall today! - So easy, just making a gallon every other day with the grow, some silica (if i want...no pressure here), and some cal mag...not in that order of course LOL. Loving this easy mix! Day 23 - 8/6 - No feed today, still on every 2 days - Lana got another tip of a leaf! OOPS AGAIN! - I went ahead and cut off the first 2 fan leaves and nodes. Day 24 - 8/7 - Gave her Gal of easy mixing today - 6" tall!!! Day 25 - 8/8 - 6.5" - No changes and No water today Day 26 - 8/9 - Noticed some cal mag deficiency, will adjust - Increased her cal mag to 3.5ml per gal (I had her on only 2ml/gal) - Lana has struck again! Bit off half of another leaf. Poor plant! Day 27 - 8/10 - 7" tall - No water Day 28 - 8/11 - Still 7" tall - 5.8ph still - She's starting to look a bit hungry too, will start to increase feed to full strength of the plagron next watering or two. **She's moving right along...no thanks to pretty girl Lana LOL. She loves to just sun bathe in the tent. She gives me a look and I can't say no to that little face!!! Who could?! I'm thinking about flipping her soon. There's this little voice in my head that keeps saying over and over "you should flip soon, you should flip soon" (cough, cough...spouse). We shall see though!

Week seventeen of The Oasis Project brings the Durban Poison quartet to a point of impressive maturity and structure. The plants continue to thrive under the intense Colorado high-plains sun, responding beautifully to the ongoing commitment to Low Stress Training (LST) rather than traditional netting. * Canopy Development: Each plant in the quartet is displaying a robust, open canopy that allows for excellent airflow and light penetration. * Maintenance: Manual watering remains the primary method for these plants, which has proven essential for the mobility required to position them strategically on the deck throughout the day. * Integrated Pest Management: The "security team" of African marigolds continues to accompany the quartet, providing a vital organic defense as we move closer to the flowering stages. The quartet is looking exceptionally healthy and balanced, preparing for their final stretch before the anticipated harvest window in early to mid-October. Update 7.9.26: recieved the ScroG netting for the big girls! Getting it setup so the buds can be supported from day 1 of flowering.

I guess the correct headline here is bud rot. Took a while to figure out why I ran into these issues, after a bit more snooping around and investigating I came to a mostly certain conclusion. My passive intake was clogged with dust, barely any air was coming into the grow room. This, coupled with the fact my temperature and RH sensor/recorder was giving me back dated information and applying it to the present day. I didn’t realise I was getting 80%+ RH spikes during lights out for the last 3 weeks. I’ll call it a lesson, and start to check things more regularly around the grow room, not just the plants themselves. After a heavy crop scout with sterilised gloves and alcohol rub to hand, I carefully pulled back and inspected every cola, washing my hands between each cola. Unfortunately most of the largest colas fell victim to botrytis, in the end I cut off 7 colas completely and carefully sorted through into 3 separate piles on D100. One pile was the bin put into double tied sandwich bags with a good spray with 70% alcohol , this contained directly infected areas with a 5cm radius. (235g including fan leaves and stems (wet)) The second pile was for buds that were within 10cm of the rot sites that appeared to be healthy, this went into a brown paper bag, ready for hash making when I complete the harvest in the next couple weeks. (305g including buds and sugar leaves (wet)) The third, and most limited pile was bud sites that were more than 10cm away from the rot sites. These are now successfully dried and are now in their curing jars. Based on the smell, they already smell better than my last harvest so I’m hoping it’s a sign of things to come. (58g buds (dry)) I had to buy a 4x4 tent to temporarily dry the good buds, and will use again when I do the main harvest. The top colas that are left look a little stressed this week, not sure if it’s to do with shock from early harvest, but I am going in and checking every other day with clean clothes to make sure the problems are not progressing further. Based on the trichomes (video) the samples look like they’re a week or two away from harvest now, so hopefully I won’t have the throw anymore away before then. Anyway, waffling over, mainly wanted the detail for my own reference if I ever have to come back to this (I hope not). Good luck all!

🌿 Week 4 – Purple CousKush Auto #12 | Plant A Taking the Lead | 8×8 Adventure One tent. One lighting schedule. One feeding program. The exact same environment. Yet every single plant continues to write her own story. That’s the beauty of this 8×8 Adventure and one of the main reasons I’ve chosen to document every phenotype individually. Growing from seed always brings surprises, and under the 12/12 From Seed experiment, those differences become even more fascinating. This week, the spotlight belongs to Purple CousKush Auto #12 – Plant A. While her sister (Plant B) is only just beginning to settle into pre-flowering, Plant A has already taken a noticeable step forward. Her structure has become more defined, the stretch has quietly begun, and those first flowering sites are now appearing all across the canopy. She’s clearly telling me she’s ready for the next chapter. ⸻ 🌱 The 8×8 Adventure Continues Every week inside this room reminds me that no two plants ever read the same script. Running twelve different cultivars together under a fixed 12-hour photoperiod has become an incredible learning experience. Some varieties rush toward reproduction almost immediately, while others prefer investing more time building branches before flowering. Purple CousKush Plant A seems to have found a wonderful balance between the two. She has built a compact yet well-structured canopy and is now confidently transitioning into bloom without sacrificing healthy vegetative growth. Watching these individual personalities develop is what makes this project so rewarding. ⸻ 🌿 Gentle guidance instead of heavy intervention Training this week remained simple and intentional. The majority of the work has consisted of leaf tucking, allowing larger fan leaves to be repositioned rather than removed. It’s amazing how much additional light can reach developing shoots simply by moving a leaf a few centimeters. Alongside that, I’ve continued some very gentle Low Stress Training, encouraging the branches to spread naturally and create a more even canopy. With autoflowers, I always try to let the plant lead the conversation. Rather than forcing a particular shape, I simply guide the branches where they already want to grow, opening the structure without slowing her momentum. Plant A has responded beautifully. The side branches are now catching up, the center remains open, and new flowering sites are beginning to appear across almost every growing tip. ⸻ ☀️ Beating the summer heat Summer has definitely arrived here. Keeping a grow room comfortable during these warmer weeks becomes a challenge all on its own, even with air conditioning running continuously. Daytime temperatures have been reaching 33°C, while humidity has remained around 63%, creating conditions that demand constant monitoring and small environmental adjustments. Fortunately, the plants continue responding extremely well. Healthy green leaves. Strong stems. Excellent vigor. No signs of nutrient stress or environmental fatigue. Sometimes successful growing isn’t about having perfect numbers… It’s about maintaining stability when nature refuses to cooperate. ⸻ 💧 Week 4 Feeding The nutrient program remains unchanged, providing everything the plants need as they transition into early flower. Feed per litre • Terra Grow — 1.8 ml/L • Power Roots — 1 ml/L • Pure Zym — 1 ml/L • Sugar Royal — 1 ml/L Solution parameters: • EC: 1.35 mS/cm • pH: 6.1 The combination continues producing exactly what I like to see—healthy colour, vigorous new growth, and a plant that’s asking for more light every single day. ⸻ 🌸 First signs of flower Plant A is now clearly ahead of her sister in development. Pre-flower is becoming increasingly obvious, with fresh pistils emerging throughout the upper nodes and new growth beginning to take on that unmistakable early flowering appearance. The stretch is only just beginning, but it’s already easy to imagine how this canopy will develop over the coming weeks. The gentle LST performed earlier is paying off nicely, creating multiple future flowering tops instead of relying on one dominant main cola. It’s still early… But the foundations are there. And they’re looking very promising. ⸻ 🌱 Looking ahead Over the next week I’m expecting Plant A to continue stretching while stacking more flowering sites throughout the canopy. The goal remains exactly the same: Maintain an open structure. Keep every future bud site exposed to quality light. Support healthy root development. And simply let the plant express her genetics at her own pace. One of the greatest lessons from this project has been learning not to compare plants against each other, but to appreciate each one for what she naturally wants to become. flushing time i had about 1700 ppm in the grow in my drain so in the flush i give them double of water within these 14 days without supplements to reduce the drain ppm to 200-450 ppm maximum.
