Last week of Ozz! I’m getting some nice trichromes. Surprisingly, she doesn’t smell much, but she’s still beautiful. She also has the best ratio of buds to leaves out of the three plants of the same strain. I’ll start trimming Dorel by Friday and #4 this weekend to free some space. Then it’ll be Ozz’s turn on Sunday or Monday. The relative humidity levels are getting dangerously high, but the temperatures are still fine until next week. Since she’s covered, I have good hopes she’ll hold. No additional bud has rotted since two weeks ago :)) Just finished trimming Dorel and will do #4 tomorrow. Fan leaves were super frosty so I kept them to cook, ended with 17g of trim (only fan leaves and too small buds) as well as 37g of dry buds. Not much but it was the smallest plant of the 3 by far, I wasn’t expecting more. First taste test was really conclusive, looking forward to testing again after some curing! Edit before I complete the harvest section, all 3 plants cut and just Ozz remaining to dry and trim. Terrible outcome for #4 as I had to throw more than half of the plant away due to bud rots. I’m still really confused about what happened: the day before harvest I noticed and removed 3 bud rots from the plant - so far so good. All remaining buds were fine, but when trimming I realised every single top was maroon-ish at the base and I could clearly see a start of mold when opening some of them. Although I could clearly confirm what it was with a 30x lens, the white spots were extremely scarce and small (less than 1x1mm each time). It doesn’t seem really coherent with how it should have spread. Nonetheless, I didn’t take risk and threw away any bud where I could identify white mold with the lens, and put aside the ones where I had a doubt in pop corns (the “7g maybe”, cf below) to track the evolution. A quick summary of the harvest so far: - Dorel: 250g wet, 37g dry / 17g trim (54g total) - #4: 450g wet, 33g dry / 7g maybe / 29g trim (62-69g total) + a lot thrown away - Ozz: only weighted the two bigger canopie I cut, 162g+142g≈300g wet. It represents around half of the whole plant (probably less, but stem included), so around 5-600g wet total. Still have a few days before I start trimming, but considering the hassle I might start early to not be overwhelmed.

Day 43 Update. Well the tall girl stretched past my lights maximum height. So I LST her main branch. See the first 2 pictures. 😀 Its very hard to capture there true beauty with just pictures so I took a video. So give it a watch. Well they exploded this week. The big one doubled her size and I had to move her down too the bottom level because she pushed her LED light out of her way to grow past it. Other ones only gained 5-10 inches. Very happy with these girls. 5 of them got defoliated, the other 2 didn't really need it. I was able to give the 6 bigger girls 2 shots of Bud Igniter before I ran out. I will have to get some more when I have the money. However I did just get Nirvana at the beginning of the week and they seem to love it. I'm still being careful I don't want to over feed them. The 7th one is still in veg at day 28. She got LST and defoliated 2 days ago but now you can hardly tell. I don't think she has even started stretching yet. She could be massive. They are being watered/feed every 1-2 days now.

all nutrients are in ger section. in round about one month it is harvest time, if she keeps going as well as she already did. hst and cutting sunleafes seems not to harm her too mutch.

OK guys I've shut them down to 4hrs light a day for 2 days now. They have really filled out those buds and are looking extra sugary. I have been watering with 140ppm water at 6.2-7 pH with flawless finish for 6 days now. I have just given them probably the last watering will leave them for another 3-5 days on 4hr schedule before turning lights off for 2 days and then harvesting. Next diary will be the harvest!! I hope nothing goes tits up from here😂

So i had to take all my plants inside because i found bud rot on 2 of them & the weather wasn’t going to get any better, had to transform my bedroom into a grow room😂 & i have 2 more plants which i am going to finish next to a window.. The smaller plant to the right is a Northern light by zamnesiaseeds that has a seperate diary if you are interested! I really hope the bud rot doesn’t spread anymore & if anyone has any tips or tricks for that they are always welcome!

I started germination of 2 Critical purple kush beans on 29/12/2020. I pre moistened my rockwool cubes with ph balanced water to 6.4. Made sure the plugs were just damp and not soaked. Using a small wooden dowel I increased the size of the plugs pre made holes. Than I sowed my beans into the holes. Ripped off a small piece of rockwool and mulched it up. Lightly filled the holes in with the mulched rockwool. Than stuck the plugs into a misted humidity dome, to complete germination. Shouldn't take anymore than 4-5 days to see some sprouts. Once I see some cotlydon leaves bursting to the surface. I will get the plugs planted into some 1 gallon pots. Plus get these ladies situated into their home. Cant wait! Some Background information on my experience with CPK. I've ran this strain a good dozen times. It's a very short, robust, and branchy variety. Packs on fat dense colas with immaculate bud structre and trichome production. It's a fairly fast finisher and packs a real potent stoned. She gets very sexy purple highlights and hues. Some phenos more purple than others but I've always got color. She doesn't mind lst, and some good training work greatly increases yeilds. I've ran her inside and out and all times of the year. She seems to strive and flourish in any environment. Just give her that light and watch her grow! She packs a very signature kush pallet and she always has a spot in my rotation! Seedsman knocked it out the park with these genetics.

How did you create/breed Freakshow? A. Methodical selection, line breeding, and culling is the short answer. Read our About page for more details. Q. Is it an indoor or outdoor type? A. Everything I've ever worked has been outdoors, including of course Freakshow. It has been our experience that outdoor (or sun grown, as it's recently being referred to) cultivars seem to perform extremely well under artificial conditions. The opposite is not always true; indoor clones often give an outdoor grower headaches because they don't always make the transition smoothly. Also, considering the amount of continuous shameless hybridization that has occurred in the last 40 yrs., any modern kind could easily contain over 40 kinds. In the case of Freakshow, it's much more limited because the ancestry is largely older "Sativas" that didn't go through as much outcrossing. In the 70s in Santa Cruz, Haze was a favorite among surfers for the pure energy and I still have (greatly improved) stock of it around, simply because even when I made hybrids with it I always kept the original in pure form for obvious reasons. Q. What is the psychoactive effect like? A. Like the flavors, many people have commented that the "buzz" is somewhat different than other mainstream types out there. It's not entirely out of the scope of imagination that given that this strain has new alleles in so many other respects, that it could also contain new, unique cannabinoids, as well as new and unique terpenoids, some of which may not even be among the standard 16 or so that the average lab is testing for. Aside from the up, cerebral, energetic boost, some report a mild time/space warp effect. Creativity and idea induction should be mentioned, for sure. Freakshow has the pure energy effect and greatly alters perception to the positive side, so definitely destroys depression. I thought I better clarify this because there are a few people thinking that because of an article "Growing Marijuana that Doesn't look like Marijuana" that mentions that I had worked web-leaf types years ago and had eventually turned that into Freakshow. This is incorrect and I'm needing to get ahold of the writer to have him change it. When I read the piece and saw the mistake I figured it didn't matter that much, that the actual method of breeding could just remain a "trade secret". Recently, I noticed online that a posting, "Freakshow only exists because of duckfoot" by Curious Cannabis Connoisseur, where he explains how I developed Freakshow using Duckfoot. Let me explain, about 20 yrs. ago a friend gave me a jar of seeds labeled "BC Bigbud" and I sprouted flats of hundreds to look for oddities and had found one web-leaf pheno which we named Webster. It was a female so I bred it to a normal leaf male and began selecting and stabilizing a line of Webster. About 5 or 6 generations later I had nailed it to 100% webs and had also stabilized it for a deep purple color and a nice "gingerbread" terp profile. I was busy working other lines at that point so I put Webster in the library. Also, I was having a hell of a time getting a pheno of it that flowered to my satisfaction. (it seemed to finish with a limited number of calyxes). I knew I would have to outcross it to something with a big tasty bud and restabilize it for web-leaf, and I no longer had the original BC Bigbud. I still have the Webster seeds, and trust me the thought has crossed my mind to make the cross with Freakshow, but why? Why mess around crossing things just to create something even weirder? I have heard that the "Duckfoot" also doesn't bud up well so maybe there's a correlation there. Anyway, people can do what they want to and I will too, but crossing Freakshow with some low-THC crap like ABC is in my opinion idiotic. I worked extremely hard stabilizing and perfecting a beautiful new subspecies and I believe it should be kept pure. I won't go on a rant here about the rampant crossing and the lack of line-breeding in the cannabis world in the last several decades, or where this will eventually lead us, but I will say that it's not in a good direction. Bottom line....Freakshow has no web-leaf genes, it was made using top-grade tropical narrow-leaf drug (NLD) cultivars. Q.Why is Freakshow patented? A. Although I and most others (including all the folks at HSC) believe in and subscribe to the concept of "open sourcing" because sharing in cannabis genetics was always the cultural norm, it was decided that Freakshow should be protected (1) because it is a novel and unique, not a preexisting strain (or even subspecies), (2) To keep the greedy corporate big boys from exploiting it, (3) To maintain control of the genetic refinement of it in all future generations. Hi Guys, This week has been pretty good, the plant at the bottom right just seems to struggle her way through everything, she has loads of roots, they keep growing but for what ever reason she look plain ugly and grows very slowly above the water which is evident when looking at the photo lapse I have uploaded. I bought a Torus PH Perfect capsule which is a chemical free way of stabilising the PH, since that has gone in the brain bucket, I haven’t had to make any PH amendments yet. You can see it at the end of the video. They have all been topped for the 3rd and final time around D32-33. I will train some tips down so they don’t become dominant, but other than that, they’re gonna have a free week or so of growth with no more slicing or cutting before I flip them😊 Hopefully the ugly one will have bounced back by then and I can push forward into the transition with 6 healthy bushes.
