Looking For A Keeper cream of the crop seeds purple paralysis 2nd April 2021 First of all ... Phew!!!! That was a long grow!! I've done all of the Main trimming and have a heap of Jars full of Stinky Buds ready to begin the curing process. 😍😍 It was a challenge growing in new conditions during Summer with Temps often getting above 45 degrees celcius Thunderstorms and High winds became an issue once or twice and finally the worst part was the Bloody Caterpillars 😣 Those buggers gave me the absolute shits for the last 5 weeks of the plants life . These plants actually started from clones taken from a Purple paralysis plant that I was hoping to flower last year. However due to an unavoidable trip away I lost that plant but the clones survived. So then my plan became to plant them both into a garden bed filled with my soil mix which basically consisted of locally sourced Red dirt and washed river sand mixed with Cattle manure , worm castings , garden lime and Lucerne mulch. The Plants thrived thru the summer months and into Autumn and ended up yielding 19 ounces plus Lots of good quality trim. I love this strain and have definately found myself a Keeper in this one . I'd really like to get the oppurtunity to try other strains from Cream of the crop seeds and maybe I will before too long. (11/25-12/01) Hope everyone enjoys the daily progressions of overhead and side profile (Organized Chaos) Unfortunately they have too much of a toll for me to keep up with with 3 sets of grows going now, so this was the last week I am doing them on this set. I will try to add a video and black back or cover pics by end of week every week. Week 3 Notes & Observations: As mentioned last week, Plant 1 remains the supreme plant now and is producing nice stretch in the node spacing but is still showing a different type of leaf shape than plant 2. No issues from the mainline topping and they seem to be going okay. I will be topping again this weekend for the second of 3 total topping sessions. This topping will be 2 tops off the ends of the last and will produce 4 main colas. **OOPS** was being a little too aggressive in my HST while trying to set the mainline on both plants today. P1 was just a little rip of the skin, I taped her up and suspect she will be fine. However, on P2, I nearly snapped the whole branch off. I taped it and crossed my fingers hoping it works out in a week or two, but have serious doubts it will be able to mend such a large break. We'll see because I am posting ALL of the grow, the good and the bad. VPD and PPFD: This week I will hold the humidity in the tent to about 70-75% and temps will be monitored for 70- 75F daytime and 66-71F overnight. Im not adjusting my lights and look to control them 350ppfd max. Meaning slight increase over last week but mostly just growth increase. Feed & Monitor: ***All feeds with nutes use either a whole ratio or combination of "Veg Mix" and "Bloom Mix"concentrates DILUTED in water until a total ppm of add-in is reached using a (Total Dissolved Solids) TDS Meter measured in PPM (parts per million). The "Veg Mix" concentrate will eventually be added in smaller ratios and "Bloom Mix" concentrate will eventually replace the "Veg Mix" concentrate entirely. The ppm and ratios of each feed will be listed when I feed. Veg mix recipe is on week 2. Bloom Mix recipe will be noted in this top message of the week that I make it.*** Day 28 (last feed was day 22) Tested and Calibrated my ph pens. Starting weight from each pot was 18 lbs and 8 oz, P1 weighed 15lbs 12oz and P2 was 15lbs 4oz before feed. Each plant got 1 gallon of de-chlorinated tap water with 300ppm Veg Mix concentrate added (recipe on week 2 and makes 1 gallon at about 3600 to 4000ppm concentrate to dilute each feed, i.e. I only fed 300ppm above the purified water ppm this feed) The ph on this feed was balanced to 6.0ph to combat the original higher runoff ph from the first runoff feed. After feed P1 weighed 22lbs 3oz (21lbs 2oz after last feed) and P2 weighed 21lbs 14oz (20lbs 14oz after last feed). I got about 5cups of runoff on P1 (9 cups last feed) and 5 cups on P2 (7 cups last feed) . Runoff for P1 ph was 6.45 with 1170ppm (6.45ph with 980ppm last feed) and P2 was 6.45 with 1230ppm (6.45 with 1130ppm last feed). Top soil tested at: P1 6.35,6.3,6.33,6.33 for an avg of 6.327 (6.497 avg after last feed) and P2 tested at 6.47,6.37,6.26,6.51 avg 6.402 (6.46avg after last feed) - next feed will be 6.3ph as Im liking where the ph is so I dont see any issues, but will continue to monitor this way. Day 34 (last feed was day 28) Tested and Calibrated my ph pens. 1st Starting weight from each pot was 18 lbs and 8 oz. Before feeding this time, P1 weighed 14lbs 14oz (15lbs 12oz before last feed) and P2 was 14lbs 7oz before feeding (15lbs 4oz before last feed). Each plant got 1.5 gallons of de-chlorinated tap water with 98ppm Veg Mix concentrate added to flush any salt builds in the soil (recipe on week 2 and makes 1 gallon at about 3600 to 4000ppm concentrate to dilute in each feed, i.e. I only fed 98ppm above the de-chlorinated tap water ppm this feed) Due to this soil showing a possible calcium deficit, I am starting a 1ml per gallon add-in to test on all plants using this soil, so I added 1.5ml of CaliMagic (General Hydroponics 1-0-0) to each plant's feed then I ph balanced before feeding. The ph on this feed was balanced to 6.3ph. I used knitting needles to help both aerate the soil and create new water pathways for the roots. (a practice I may consider a new feeding standard) After feed, P1 weighed 21lbs 9oz (22lbs 3oz after last feed) and P2 weighed 21lbs 7oz (20lbs 14oz after last feed). I got about 11cups of runoff on P1 (5 cups last feed) and 11 cups on P2 (5 cups last feed). Higher runoff volume was expected with the feed volume increase for flush this round. Runoff for P1 ph was 6.65 with 838ppm (6.45 with 1170ppm last feed) and P2 was 6.60 with 879ppm (6.45 with 1230ppm last feed). Top soil tested at: P1 6.58,6.57,6.58,6.67 for an avg of 6.600 (6.327 avg after last feed) and P2 tested at 6.47,6.61,6.64,6.64 to avg 6.590 (6.402 avg after last feed) - next feed will be 6.0ph as I'm still liking where the ph is, but rather see it closer to 6.3 or 6.4 top and bottom. I dont see any issues with the feed's data other than the possible calcium deficit and I will continue to monitor runoff ppms as I expected this to be higher with more runoff. Week 12+13 Update – Final Harvest & Reflections 🌱✂️ First off, sorry for the late update—super busy at the moment! This will likely be my last report for now. I’ll still share the final results, but after that, I’m taking a break. BioBizz#1 – BT59 Harvested, and as expected, a disappointing yield—typical for BioBizz. Final weight: 71.88g AN#4 – BT65 As expected, the biggest plant in the grow! This grow confirmed that I’d stick with Advanced Nutrients in the future. Final weight: 163.88g AN#3 – BT64 This grow was an experiment in 60x60x120cm, and let’s just say—not recommended! Zero height control, only 2cm clearance from the LED. Somehow, she survived. Now I’m super curious about the final yield! Final Thoughts Advanced Nutrients proved superior, and BioBizz didn’t impress me. Stay tuned for the final numbers from AN#3! 😏

27.04. F17 The plants are now fully in mid-flower, with clear bud formation and the first signs of stacking across all tops. The canopy remains even and well-structured, filling the entire 1.2 × 1.2 area efficiently. The Autopot system is running consistently, and the BioTabs setup continues to provide a stable and balanced nutrient environment. Plants are healthy, with no visible issues, and are responding very well to the current conditions. One plant (back right) showed slightly higher nutrient demand, so it received a targeted feeding with the BioTabs nutrients, while all other plants continue to receive only water for now. From this point forward, the focus shifts towards maintaining stability while bud development continues to increase. 🌱

Start of the week my first grow light arrived! I got it setup right away and then decided to transfer them into a bit bigger pots. 2 were still looking terrible and 2 were doing okay. One was tall and straggly so I had to try to prop it up after I transferred it. I placed them in a closet and then periodically checked on them throughout the week. A few days into the week I realized how bad the growlight I had ordered actually was. So it was time to decide.. option 1 was to let the plants just try to survive outside. Option 2 was order a better light and return this one. Option 3 was purchase a tent setup with light. After a bunch of research I decided on spider farmer and ordered a kit from them! (https://www.spider-farmer.com/?ref=Bigbuds420) to receive 3% off. The kit was set to arrive in a week. The decision was made to keep them as indoor. 2 would be outdoor, 2 in the tent.

Just a lot of defoliation and a little lst this week. Hesi working great . Flipped today 1/9. Light is doing brilliantly so far

Just got them potted. Plants are in Shock. Removed Damaged Leaves. after Day 1. New growth is standing up and Praying. Flooding every 3 hours. 9/18/2020 had a problem that looked like Cal-Mag issues & overwatering... Was using the tank labels for water marks to tell how much water was in the tank. Discovered that the marks from the factory are wrong. Measured back in exactly 100 Gallons of water and re-nuted the tank. It didn't solve my issue. So I changed the water flood schedule to see if I was overwatering or underwatering. no response from the plants except it was getting worse. After trying things for two days, I "Phoned a friend"... and they suggested to turn the lights down to 25%. BAM! after 20 min or so, there was a positive response and lifting of the leaves... Moral of the story is to start your clones and a lower light setting and gradually bring them up over time. Pics included...

Most of the day the ladies are under a roof due to rain. Maybe tomorrow a bit of sunshine but the weekend doesnt look good. Like i said another rainy Day,hang in there ladies!

All plants looking good. The Flower nodes are getting closer. They are getting watered about every 4 days depending if the pots are light. When watered they are taking about 4 1/2 liters until there is any run of.

She's over doubled her height this week!!!!!!!!!! Looks like she's going great! An educated guess says she is just about to enter flowering in the coming week.

Day 49 Flower development is clearly advancing, with buds getting noticeably denser and stacking nicely along the branches. Trichome production has increased significantly, giving the flowers a frosty appearance. Pistils are still mostly white, with a few beginning to darken, indicating mid-flower progression. The leaves remain healthy overall, with good color and no major signs of nutrient deficiencies or stress, Minor fading on some lower leaves is normal at this stage. The plant maintains strong structure and stability, and the canopy remains well managed inside the tent. Aroma is becoming stronger day by day, showing good genetic expression. Overall, the plant is healthy, on schedule, and showing great potential as flowering continues.

The girl is getting bigger and stronger, she grows beautifully, the branches have grown all over the box. Like her sisters, I will give her PH Down from Jungle Indabox next week - the nutrients I use will be given to this girl as a precaution so that the PH does not increase. Keep it up 😍

Week 02 Introduction This week has been a bit of a struggle. Had my first experience dealing with slime and brown algae. But I think adding enzymes and increasing the beneficial bacteria helped to fix the issue. Also experienced nutrient burn for the first time. My nutrient solution strength got as high as 671 PPMs. So backed it down to about 430 PPMs during the end-of-week reservoir change. Also cut Hydroguard (expired?), CaliMagic, and Superthrive from this grow. Now she's still stunted, but is starting to recover. Hopefully... [START OF WEEK 02] Day 01 - Monday - 08/10/20 - Total Days: 008 ----------------------------------- - [0830]: Still looks a bit yellow. But getting larger! --- Solution strength was at 248 PPMs. --- Just topped off with a bit of distilled water --- PH went up to 6.1 so PH'd down to 5.8 --- Ran the top feed for a bit to wet the hydroton. - [2130]: She's looking even more yellow now. --- Even the new leaves are really yellow. --- Decided to add more base nutes. --- Added 4ml of Sensi A --- Added 4ml of Sensi B --- Now at about --- Solution Strength went up to 304 PPM. --- PH was at 6, --- Also raised the water level a bit more. --- I really hope it's a nutrient deficiency and not an over-watering issue. --- Please live! Day 02 - Tuesday - 08/11/20 - Total Days: 009 ----------------------------------- - [0830]: Looking less droopy. But still yellow. --- Decided to do a reservoir change. --- 4.5gal of distilled water --- 8ml of Sensi Grow A --- 8ml of Sensi Grow B --- 8ml of Voodoo Juice --- 4ml of B-52 --- 4ml of CaliMagic --- 4ml of Hydroguard --- 4 drops of Superthrive --- PH'd down to 5.8 --- Solution strength: 302 PPM --- Since I didn't want to risk over-watering the rockwool, I did not to do a top feed, may do one tonight after the sleep cycle (lights are still set to go off at 10am and back on at 4pm). --- As I was doing a reservoir change, I noticed that the tubes and bucket were a bit slimy. Didn't really stink or anything. Is this normal? Maybe due to the Hydroguard and Voodoo Juice? --- I hope she gets better soon! - [2215]: Getting larger! But still yellow. --- Also can see a root growing through the net pot! Tiny little thing but it's there! Will have to start dropping water once more appear. --- After looking over a few DWC diaries using AN nutes, seems like my solution strength is still too low. Most around this stage average around 500 PPMs with about 4ml per gallon. --- Top fed for a minute to wet the top of the hydroton. --- Solution strength went down to 263 PPM. --- Added 8ml more of Sensi A --- Added 8ml more of Sensi B --- Now base nutes are at 16ml for 4.5 gal of water. --- PPMs went up to 411. --- Still lower than 500 PPMs, but that's okay. --- PH was at 6. Not sure if I should adjust PH using AN nutes. So going to not ajdust unless PH goes above 6.1. Day 03 - Wednesday - 08/12/20 - Total Days: 010 ----------------------------------- - [0830]: Looks like more root growth! --- She still looks yellow. But leaves are perky. --- PH was at 6.2 so lowered down to 5.8. --- Solution strength was at 394 PPMs --- Since roots are still growing, I decide to lower the water level a bit. Now water level is a bit below the net pot. - [2200]: Root is getting longer! --- Slime is returning. Not sure why. --- Solution strength: 357 PPMs --- PH: 6.1 --- Decided to add an enzyme along with more beneficial bacteria to hopefully cure the slime. --- Added 16ml of Sensizym --- Added 5ml of Hydroguard --- Added 8ml of Voodoo Juice --- New solution strength: 430 PPMs --- New PH: 6.1 --- Top fed for a minute. --- This slimy residue is really freaking me out! I hope the added enzymes will help eliminate the slime. --- Going to do a full reservoir sterilization/nutrient change over the weekend. Please survive until then girl! Day 04 - Thursday - 08/13/20 - Total Days: 011 ----------------------------------- - [0930]: I think the enzymes worked! There is little to no slime now! --- Although I think the root was also dissolved in the process. It's now just a little stub sticking just below the net pot. The enzyme is also suppose to dissolved dead roots too but guess that root was too weak? Not sure what happened there. But I think the slime is cured! --- Solution strength went down to 395 PPMs. Decided to add more base nutrients. --- Added 8ml of Sensi A --- Added 8ml of Sensi B --- Added 4ml of B-52 --- Solution strength went up to 598 PPMs. --- PH was at 6.1 --- As long as the PH is between 5.5 and 6.3, I'm not going to use PH Up or Down. But still will monitor PH levels. - [1715]: Checked up on her after her nap and shes looking alive but stunted. But no slime! --- Decided to add some sugars to help maintain the enzymes and beneficial bacteria. --- Solution strength was at 587 PPMs. --- PH was at 6.2 --- Added 8ml of Bud Candy --- Solution strength went up to 671 PPMs. --- PH also went up to 6.3 --- Lowered water level a bit to hopefully promote more root growth. --- Top fed for a minute. --- She is getting bigger, but still looks yellow. Day 05 - Friday - 08/14/20 - Total Days: 012 ----------------------------------- - [0915]: Leaves look a little burnt on the tips. Still no slime. --- Going to back off on the PPMs to hopefully fix the nutrient toxicity. --- Solution strength was at 632 PPMs --- PH was at 6.3 --- Added/Removed water until PPMs were at 536. --- PH was still at 6.3 --- Raised water up a bit, then top fed for a minute. - [2200]: Looking better. Still yellow though. --- Solution strength: 514 PPMs --- PH: 6.5 --- Added PH down. --- New solution strength: 518 PPMs --- New PH: 5.2 --- PH was kind of high. So decided to PH down. Had to use quite a bit to bring it down. But eventually got it to drop down to 5.3. A little low, but so far, the PH has always gone up so wanted to start it really low. --- Ran the top feed for a minute to re-saturate the top of the hydroton. Day 06 - Saturday - 08/15/20 - Total Days: 013 ----------------------------------- - [0830]: She looks stunted. leaves are still yellow. --- Solution strength: 514 PPMs --- PH: 5.6 --- Top fed for a minute. --- Not sure what to do at this point. Going to do another reservoir change soon. Hoping she lives until then. - [2145]: Looking pretty much the same. --- A bit of slime has returned. Since I've been diluting the nutrient solution, the enzyme ratio has dropped. So I guess this is expected. --- Also noticed that slime build up was on the air-stones. Never really checked the stones so not sure how long that has been there. Looks brown too, which can't be good. --- Going to do an H202 sterilization of the system (minus the net pot) tomorrow so did not add anything. --- Lowered the water level to below the net pot. --- Then top fed for a minute. Day 07 - Sunday - 08/16/20 - Total Days: 014 ----------------------------------- - [0900]: STERILIZATION DAY! --- Decided to skip today's night cycle for a deep clean. --- I'm hoping that skipping a night cycle won't be too stressful. --- Temporarily moved her to a new bucket. --- Used about a half of gallon of straight distilled water to flush out the net pot. --- Drained the system and wiped up all the brown sludge. Also removed the air stones and cleaned up all the goo. --- Filled the system with 2 gallons of distilled water and at least 30ml of food grade hydrogen peroxide (35% strength). --- Yea its a lot, but since I'm not going to sterilize the system overnight, I went with a really high doseage. Basically I kept adding until I started to see little bubbles start to form. --- Then I ran the water pump. - [0915]: Boiled the air stones in tap water for about 10 min. Then reconnected them to the airlines. --- I let the air stones and hose soak in the sterilization solution for about 5 minutes so the peroxide can absorb into the stones. Then ran the air stone to help mix and agitate the solution. --- Occasionally, I'd repeat the process of turning the air pump off for a few minutes to let the stones soak. - [1000]: Covered the top two row of holes of the net pot with some aluminum tape. Hopefully this solves the light leaking in through the hydroton. - [1200]: Used an old toothbrush and scrubbed the pump clean. Then drained the system. --- Refilled with more distilled water and peroxide. Again added a lot. --- Ran system again to sterilize even more. - [1530]: Drained the system and refilled with distilled water to rinse. --- Ran the system for a few minutes, then drained and rinsed again. --- Did this a few more times over about an hour. - [1630]: Added 4 gallons of fresh distilled water. --- Added 15ml Sensi Grow A --- Added 15ml Sensi Grow B --- Added 12ml of B-52 --- Added 16ml of Voodoo Juice --- Added 16ml Sensizym --- Solution strength was at 430 PPMs --- PH was at 5.6 --- I was going to add Hydroguard, but I think the bottle is expired. Since 2017 or 2018!? I think Hydroguard is good for up to 2 years from the date on the bottle or 6 months after opening. So not going to use from now on. I wonder if this could have contributed to the slime build up. --- Also removed the CaliMagic and Superthrive too. Going to only use AN products to eliminate the chance of incompatible nutrients. --- Placed her back in the bucket and top fed for a minute. --- Here's hoping for the best.
