Summer Solstice Perfect weather this week, Cookies is grown a lot and now shows giant fan leaves. LTS started with a little of difficulties because of very short internode length. From today the worse heat wave of european history will put a strain on my Cookies for 15 days at least, must be very careful she don't like heat. Watered with rain or Ph controlled water. Plants start to smell. OT Maleb is in alternate grow, very little time to preflowering. I bet she is a girl.

Week 4: Growth Spurts and New Challenges Continued Growth and Health As we move into the fourth week, the plants are showing impressive growth. Their leaves are a lush, vibrant green, and the stems are becoming stronger. The transition to the larger 11-liter fabric pots has clearly paid off, providing the roots with ample space and better aeration. Adjusting Nutrient Levels Given their positive response to the nutrients, I decided to continue with 2/3 of Terra Aquatica Tripart feeding schedule, adjusting slightly to meet their increasing demands. Here's the updated feeding plan for this week: CalMag: 2.5 ml/l (Starting EC before adding nutrients: 0.50 mS/cm) Grow: 1.5 ml/l Bloom: 1.0 ml/l Micro: 0.5 ml/l EC: 1.2 mS/cm (600 ppm PPM-500/TDS) pH: 6.0 Each plant is watered with approximately 20% runoff to ensure there's no nutrient buildup in the coco mix. I will maintain this nutrient level until the pre-flowering stage to avoid the risk of nutrient burn due to over-fertilization. Weather Improvements and Adjustments The weather has been steadily improving, with temperatures expected to rise to around 25°C starting Wednesday, accompanied by abundant sunshine. This upcoming forecast is excellent news for my plants, as I anticipate a final growth spurt before flowering begins. Every centimeter of growth counts at this stage, and I'm optimistic about maximizing their potential under these favorable conditions. Strengthening with Wind Exposure On days with good weather, I move the plants out of the greenhouse to expose them to natural wind. This practice helps strengthen their stems, improving overall stability. Additionally, the wind creates a more challenging environment for pests, helping to keep them at bay. Smart Watering Strategy I only water the plants when the pots feel noticeably lighter. This encourages the roots to search for water, promoting the development of a stronger and more extensive root system. This method helps ensure the plants remain healthy and resilient. Pest Management: Observations and Actions At the beginning of the third week, I noticed dark discolorations on the undersides of some leaves. A few days later, these spots turned into yellow patches. I am still unsure about the cause of these spots. To prevent a potential insect infestation, I sprayed all the leaf surfaces, both top and bottom, with a mildly dosed neem oil mixture. Since then, the spots have not spread further. Because these discolorations are only affecting the lower leaves, they are not causing me significant concern at the moment. Regular inspections and preventive measures are crucial to maintaining the health of the plants and ensuring that any issues are caught early. Decision Against LST At first I have decided against using LST. But some of your comments made me try some LST on two of my plants. I choose Tangie and Gorilla cookies to try out and learn some stuff. Blue dream and Banana purple punch stay without any training. Got these plants as rescues, they were infested with powdery mildew, and under a bad light cycle causing them to flower prematurely. I cleaned up the dead growth over a period of a week or so after planting them into my yard, as well as weekly misting with a milk based spray to combat the PM as they returned to vegetative growth.

Everyone is looking pretty healthy however the bud development looks closer to week 3/4 imo and I really don't like the node spacing on plant #1, I wish we had limited some of her stretch sooner. I don't see large intact colas in that plant's future, probably long bud spiraled branches but its not the end of the world lol...We gave a tomato cage to the freak mainline for some added stability (she's definitely going to need it). All buds are beginning to frost and look as if they'll be coated by the end!! The three girls are almost switching into flower, so this week i'll start with a low dosed flowering mix in terms of nutes Differences between the three are huge, there is no doubt that the three different environments we've put them in are definetely putting their mark on the growth and overall character of the plants. the signs of light deficiency on plant number 3 are showing clearly: its brittle and very wide spread, you can tell its looking for more light. Number #2 gets the most light and is hardly stretching at all. it seems like a crop of lettuce. Number #1 gets plenty light, not showing any signs of slowing down however i'm noticing that this one consumes less water (probably has to do with temp/RH levels being different due to the different lamp) than number #2. Probably should give #2 some more straight water because its consuming so much water and i do not want to overfeed it. I think #1 is doing fine and can do with a little less water, but with nutrients. #3 is hardly using any water it seems like, i'm thinking of moving it next to a radiator so it should be able to get a quicker absorbtion and vaporisation of water in its system, hopefully charging it with some more power. Just did some LST on day 29 as well, including removal of 2 leafs of both #1 and #2. Not sure if it should be considered defoliation though.. Don't think so ;) ------------ end of week 5: i've flushed plants #1 and #2 as seen on a video on youtube. the idea behind this is to flush out any leftover grow nutes and start with a clean slate when the girls transition into flower. as an added benefit i've discovered that it is much easier to maintain a beneficial VPD value when the earth is completely soaked once a week instead of watering it with smalller portions more often. The earth contains a lot more water and evaporates it into the climate, easily reaching a 60% RH without a humidifier in these fridges. I've even lowered the lamps to get the temps up, because the VPD was reaching values below 0.90.

This week I flipped the photoperiod to 12/12 since the scrog net was already filled. I also performed a selective defoliation to improve light penetration and airflow through the canopy. The LED power was increased by 10%, and it’s currently running at around 500 PPFD to support the transition into flower 💡🌸 Now it’s time to let her stretch and see how she responds during the first weeks of flowering 💪🌿

The buds are starting to grow, lots of them!! PH water and substrate between 6 and 7 👍 Looks great, slow but steady! 👍👍👍 Lamp is on at night, hope to save electricity costs
