Ginger Nut Cookies & Aussie Music Videos Week 16 Harvest 17 th April 2020 This Entire feminised seed making and growing project was a very good learning experience for me. Right from the very start, when I successfully got a Cutting ,taken from a Barneys Farm Red diesel female plant to produce feminised pollen after treating it with a silver thiosulfate solution. I then used it to pollinate a Fastbuds Girl scout cookies auto plant and let it grow to maturity. This only produced 3 viable seeds one of which is the subject of this Diary. I made up the name "Ginger nut cookies" after a variety of cookies we have here in Australia that are made with ginger. They are the same colour as the distinct red hairs on the red diesel buds. And would you believe those same vivid red hairs were passed on to this plant so I wasn't too far off the mark with the strain name. Her flavour however is nothing like red diesel or girl scout cookies and infact as taken on a smell and aroma all of it's own. She has a lovely tropical fruit like taste and the smell is a bit like fruit yoghurt. It has an unreal after taste on the exhale and the lingering second hand smoke smells very sweet and enticing. She has a pretty well balanced high too not as potent as the GSC nor as energenic as the red diesel but just a pleasant mix of the two. It was a very easy to grow and undemanding plant that didn't seem to require a lot of extra feeding other than the 100% organic nutrients that were within the soil and a few things like compost teas etc. The other element of this diary was of course the weekly Aussie music videos That I provided the links for and put up a little video clip preview of each Artists song. I've rather ignored these ladies this week as a lot of other things were on my agenda - but they don't seem at all bothered by the lack of attention. In fact, they seem more than happy to just do their thing. We've had more hot days and fairly cool nights and nothing is fazing them - nothing! Their pistils are just starting to go brown but I don't foresee a rapid change here... they just keep bulking up and bulking up... whoever said that sativa buds were light and airy have never met these gals! They're out on my deck with 3 indicas and if I hadn't labeled the pots, I'd have a hard time figuring out which was which except for the smell! Kudos to the Super Sativa Seed Club!! Still a few weeks to go but I'm VERY pleased with their progress!

Good morning, we just completed week 4 of veg and today is day 29 which is the start of 5. Temps are steady and these girls like it a little cooler and more humid, I tried to increase kpa to 1 slowly from .9 and they were not happy at all so I’m just keeping it at .9 for now! They also are thirsty girls wanting water every 2 days drying the pots up quickly! They got a dose of recharge which I like to do every 3 weeks! Also starts silica now that I started training the branches down for a better even canopy ! Moving forward I will alternate fish shit one watering and silica the next the rest of the way! I’ll be transplanting to their final 10 gallon pots today or tomorrow then will do some more training once they recover from that! I don’t usually notice transplant shock so I’m not anticipating any issues! Thanks for reading and see ya next week

Getting quite cold on a night as well but they are still coming on strong. Had a day where it rained for like 18 hours straight 😂 not good. Flowers are looking good though and are starting to kick out more THC. Can see my topped one having some really decent sized colas by the end. Keeping the nutes as they are now. Smell delicious 😄

it actually behaved exactly as indicated by the breeder. a bit of a shame that it was so humid in germany and it got mouldy. but otherwise it was very resistant. a beautiful and easy to grow plant. a classic

The 3 leaf Snak plant is doing very well. Once I transplant into the one gallon fabric pot the plants seem to start growing a little faster,

Week 8 is finally here! We changed up the nutrient feeding to the week 8 on the feed chart. I am diluting everything at a 50-40% rate to keep EC within acceptable ranges of 0.8 - 1.1 EC. I started adding Terpinator to the mix and I do notice a significant smell increase vs. without it. I am going to keep using this as I think it is a great supplement. I did figure out that even though on the bottle and on the specific feed chart, it says it is a light formula that will have minimal impact on EC and will not burn your plants at the recommended rates - it will! First time mixing up my nutrients with terpinator, I had to dilute it because the EC was too high. I put the recommended amount in my mix, and checked EC and low and behold it was high. The next feeding I did a 50% dilution rate and that seemed to be ok if you are diluting your other inputs properly to compensate. ALWAYS make sure your EC and PH are in check prior to fertigating your plants. I am watching the trichomes on a daily basis and am looking to harvest sometime this week or next. I plan to dry it in the tent it is growing in as it has AC and good airflow. Once they are done drying, they will get trimmed up, lightly vacuum sealed and stored in the freezer. Updates will be coming throughout the week!

Day 5 : The Apricot was still stuck in its seed so I decided to remove it. I broke one cotyledon during the process. Hopefully, the second seed was still in the paper towel and was already out of the seed shell. I replaced the plant 1 with the plant 2. The root of the plant 2 seems more developped than the plant 1. So in the end, I guess it's a good thing I broke the cotyledon of the plant 1 because the plant 2 looks stronger. Day 8 : The plants in the soil developed pretty well so I decided to get rid of the back-up seeds and took some pictures before throwing them away. They were all out of their shell with nice root, great seeds!
