Day 73 11/09/24 Wednesday (END OF QUARANTINE) De-chlorinated tap water pH 6 only today. Now I have put them to finish underground a 600w hps under 12/12 schedule with the Divine Black opium. Luckily no more mould has spread, and all plants look happy healthy and still developing. Everything is on point. I’m at day 35 of flowering. I remember a while back there were a lot of Barney’s farm haters saying they only got hermaphrodites or whatever their bs. Either you just sucked as a grower or you got an absolute fluke. Everything I have ever ordered from Barney’s farm has not only been stellar. WEEK 6 This Black Runtz is growing at a vigorous pace and has handled all training perfectly so far. I’ve topped her to 16 shoots, and she’s developed with a very even structure. Overall, her growth has been quite stretched up to this point. I’m hoping she won’t get too tall later during flowering. Everything still looks really promising and gives hope for a great bloom phase. Next week, I’ll switch the lights to 12 hours to initiate flowering. This week, my lamp ran at 500 PPFD, and I watered once with plain water and once with nutrient solution.

this is my first time transplanting from hydro to soil due to room/spacing issues, and let me tell you, this is NOT an easy task, and should be avoided at all costs, especially the bigger the plant. it almost seems impossible to remove all the clay pebbles without damaging some of those 2-3week old baby roots around those pebbles. i gently picked out as many clay pebbles as i could with my hand and then had to cut the plastic net pot to completely free up those roots without shocking the plant too much. the transplant was a success into soil 5gal, although I expected worse, and am expecting to be a few weeks behind to let her system reset/build. to make matters worse, its been VERY HOT in the midwest (90-100f). and here we go, later that same week, i accidentally left her overnight, and into the morning sun on a 100f day. as you can see from her burn marks, she clearly wasn’t able to defend herself against that type of extreme heat yet, and i was blessed to catch her before the afternoon heat, otherwise she’d be toast, lol. just a few of the upper leaves turned crispy. i know she wasn’t happy so i put her under more gentle conditions, now let’s see how she comes back

So need to install the kit before placing the frame back in. --- The kit came with 4 identical support bars which snap snugly onto the vertical tent bars. --- Assembly was pretty straight forward and the bars snapped and screwed together with ease. --- To make the process a lot easier, I installed all the corners first. The bars easily snapped into the corner pieces and once fully secured, the whole tent feels a lot more stable. The kit also widens the tent to keep the fans from hitting the sides. --- Left the front bar off for now (only have the front corners installed). --- To ensure that the support bars are level, decided to place the bottom (back and front) bars just above where the tent bars snap together (about 41 inches from the floor). The Northern Light produced almost twice as much as White Widow. As they were in the same basin, I attribute the better performance to three factors. 1. Roots made it to basin faster. The WW's pellet dried out before her roots were in the water as the airstone shifted right under the NL. 2. The second and more powerful light was placed directly over the NL, however, the space is so small that they both should have benfited. 3. I did a better LST job on the NL. Overall, happy with the harvest. The buds are airy, my fault. The smell is very lemony with a bit of an earthy smell during the cure. Currently, the taste is minty and refreshing, but still a bit heavy. Effects are nice. Noticeable but not overwhelming or tiring. I think potency will come with age, But both plants tolerated my inexperience and have produced enough fruit to get me by. What else could you ask for out of a first grow?!
