My Rainbow Melon plant has been a powerhouse from day one! It's always been one of the fastest and strongest growers in the tent. For a while, it was the undisputed champion in terms of size, and it's still neck and neck for second place. This plant is just bursting with vigor, and I'm super excited to see what kind of yield I get from it. It's got that classic Rainbow Melon aroma – sweet and fruity with a hint of earthiness. It's gonna be a good one! This past week has been a whirlwind of work, leaving little time for anything else. My phone's camera roll is sadly neglected, with only a few snapshots to show for it. But finally, I'm finding a moment to catch up on my grow diaries. It's been exciting to see the progress, even if it's just through photos. I'm looking forward to documenting the next stage!

Our journey is slowly coming to an end. Unfortunately, Lady Runtz hasn't formed big buds and seems to have had a few problems with N. I guess she will be harvested in a few days.

[ Information ] For all information on this grow, including strain and grow room details, please see Week 1 of Veg. [ Updates ] Day 10 - Topped at the end of Day 9. Foliar sprayed with neem at lights on today. C02 has been increased to 800 ppm average, humidity lowered to 70%. Light power has been increased, now running at 35%. Amazing growth, finally removed all the rogue sunflowers as I didn't notice any significant gains having them. They're getting thirsty today but I'm going to give them another day, possibly 2, before I feed again. I'd like one last heavy wet/dry period for root stretch and then I'll go heavy with some organic nitrogen into flip. I can't use the same net as previous harvests because of the new room design so I'll have to create a new frame to start building the final even canopy. I'm fairly happy with how both groups of plants are growing into an even canopy within their expected timelines. Day 12 - Light intensity increased to 40%. Fed today, 1.05ec (6.8ph) with 10-15% runoff. No signs of light bleaching or stress, their leaves are almost always praying upwards. They could use a lollipopping, but with how quick they're growing I'll most likely wait until a couple days before flip to clean them up now.

Only got to start this diary on the third day of germination after I’ve moved the seeds from the toilet paper wrapping to plastic cups.

On the final stretch. Bug issues seem to be under control. All plants were flushed last week. This lady had 9l of dechlorinated water @6.8 pass through her. Checked pH in the run off and was spot on. All the buds are very dense. The way I have trained her has meant rather the some tall colas I have lots of smaller along the same branch as I kept the canopy wide and flat. I can't believe it's been this long! I started this grow after seeing @silky_smooth doing amazing art. So I decided to main line and train 16 colas.. second grow and probably way too ambitious. I have learned so much from her taking 4 clones and finding my way with my nutes. I hope I have not failed her or the great genetics Barney's Farm have produced. I had a vision of what I wanted her to look like and I feel I got what I set out for. Lessons learned. Slow down on nutes. Less is more sometimes! Plastic pots suck ass... At least 25l ones do. If I ever grow in this pot again I will amend my substrate as the drainage seemed way off with just biobizz light mix. Lights... 100% on the dimmer is not always best..(thanks @Mrs_Larimar) Bugs... They are bastards and I will start to feed nematodes into my final pot each grow from now on. And lots more.... Start of Week 7! Day 44 - 12/12 Big difference in the two Cali Snow plants! The centre "Plant 1" is well along in the flowering process with obvious bud sites forming along the small amount of LST I've been able to get going. Got a bit more stretch out of it but it looks like she's settling down but the sativa flowering of this strain is noticeably behind the indica LSD-25 planted same day in my other diary. The other girl "Plant 2" that is far left and was cooked under the dome early in the grow seems to still be in a pre-flower phase and I'm actually getting a lot of decent stretch/growth in the secondary sites. I'll keep an eye on it for the next week to see if I have to set it off myself with a 12/12 cycle but there are a few pistils here and there. Hopefully it's just a little set back in its timing because it's going to turn out to be the biggest of all 3 plants I have going now. Will have the best veg base for flowering for sure. Hopefully I won't have to set it to 12/12 and rob the other two plants I have further along in flower of a few hours of light a day. Gave another feed with upped nutes but still playing it on the low side. Going up a little each feeding and no signs of burn on any of the girls yet. Making sure I'm chasing feeds with plain water and spraying the top layer with plain water here and there to keep any build up at bay; Since the girls aren't big enough for full pot runoff feeds due to small size. Day 48 - 12/16 You can see how different the timing on the two Cali Snow are. I'm loving the extra time with Plant 2 to set up bigger secondary branches and the pistils still seem to be SLOWLY forming near the top and mature sites. In an attempt to avoid switching her to 12/12 to fully trigger the flower, I've let the temperature drop down a bit to the high teens with the light on by lettering in the winter air and keeping the tent open with lights on. Hopefully the lower temp here and there over the next couple days will get it moving. Plant 1 is well along in it's flower. The bud sites are well defined and the stretch seems to be wrapping up bringing it in just a bit bigger than my small LSD-25 in my other diary going right now. Pulled it out and reset some new LST on the plant with a less drastic lean. Clipped a few fan leaves and 3 fingers from the two Cali's, anything blocking light or bunching up too much but tried to leave as much as possible for energy production. The classic Cali Snow smell I was warned about is starting to come in. Even P2 with little to no flowers is throwing off a nice scent. Still tent contained without exhaust for now so no worries on that front. Day 50 - 12/18 Gave them their biggest feeding today in both nutes and volume. Both split a mix of 1ml each PH Perfect MGB with 1tsp Molasses in a gallon of water with a half gallon plain water chase. First time the plants have been big/thirsty enough for a run-off feeding. Will spray top layer in a day to clean top layer of any residue then top with D-Earth sprinkle to let sit until next feed. These girls have gone from identical to fraternal twins. P2 on the left is looking more like the plant I wanted in terms of size and spread. The set back in flowering time has really allowed me to train it up and get lower branches up to a pseudo-canopy. It looks like it's FINALLY about to make the final switch as the still bright pre-flower tops are starting to shoot more pistils and new leaf growth has that telltale upward point as the spread comes to an end. P1 is full flower swing is chugging along nicely as I opened her up main stem up with some selective defoliation and the thin sativa bud structure is slowly but surely coming in. As a new grower, seeing the fatten/faster Indica flower of my LSD-25 right next to the Sativa on the same schedule is a great observational experience. 👽 The smell of the two Cali Snows are finally starting to ripen up. Week 7 Veg - January 16/21 to 22/21 ***** Week 7 will be their last week being able to take them out of the tent😟 SCROG netting going in on the weekend ahead. Not really a lot to report this week as the girls are doing well and I am just wanting their side branches to grow longer to help filling in the canopy anyway. Performed more LST this week and bending over the branches daily. Didn’t do any HST this week, will once the net is in and I have a better visual of how the branches need to bend. They have come a long ways over the last 2 weeks when you look back at pictures. They have filled out with more side branching and other than battling a little purple striping on the main stems they seem pretty happy. Leaf colour is good and should be in good shape for the flip soon. Will go through all of week 8 before flipping so hopefully week 9 will be transition week and week 10 the start of flower.......have to get through next week first though😀👍 Switching over to tap water again. I have been struggling with calcium and magnesium deficiencies on all grows for the last year. I can’t seem to get the right amount added back to the RO water I use in all feedings. So running with straight water again now. Ppm coming out is 325 so I will work with that. Going to explore my own RO system in the house rather than bottled water, a system that adds back calcium, magnesium, and iron. It’s been flowing okay for the first week and will continue on for now. Using RO water I have been feeding full strength on the nutrients and have been working on backing them down a bit to compensate for the starting point of 325 now. They have continued to be fed once a week roughly and supplemented with calmag and microbes. Little more detail....... Jan 16/21, Day 43 Veg - 3L each of full line at full strength in RO water - 1150ppm and 5.8pH given to the girls - didn’t add any other nutes other than IPP line. Jan 17/21, Day 44 Veg - dry out day - pulled down all the girls again tonight to train them outwards. - Jan 18/21, Day 45 Veg - 3L for each girl today with tap water and CalMag @ 1ml, Microbes @ 2ml, Nature’s Candy @ 1.5ml - 700ppm and 5.7pH is what that works out to. - have to use a considerable amount of pH down to adjust the tap water, over 6ml in 16L Jan 19/21, Day 46 Veg - measured the girls today, GSCHB Is 12” tall. They were topped already😀 - dry out day for the girls. - pulled two large fan leaves from her. They were just getting the way too much of lower branches light. Jan 20/21, Day 47 Veg - 2.5L each with plain tap water - 295ppm and 5.8pH. - all the girls are looking big and bushy today.......they are ready for flip soon. Jan 21/21, Day 48 Veg - dry out day for the girls. Jan 22/21, Day 49 Veg - pulled all the girls down again......repeating the same LST each day manually rather than tying down for now. - this should be water day but leaving for today as I am going to lolipop the lower branches and a heavier leaf stripping tomorrow. - will feed tomorrow as they will benefit more. Very solid week ETS......the girls are taking off and expect to see lots of leaves popping out over the next couple of weeks😀👍 Work on the side branching to come up higher closer to the tops next week.......continue tap water and give a feed with Epsom Salts new week

Last week ended with a little makeover for the girls—I defoliated about 30-40% of the leaves again. ✂️ The Gorilla decided to keep me on my toes by showing some nutrient deficiencies on her leaves—guess she didn’t get enough food after the flush. 🍌🌿 (Lesson learned: don’t keep a Gorilla hungry!) Now, let’s talk about Runtz! 😍 She’s an absolute queen—so photogenic that even my struggling phone can’t capture her real beauty. 📸✨ She’s forming into one giant, luscious bud, and her fragrance is something else entirely! 🕵️‍♂️ The carbon filter is fighting the good fight, but if the room isn’t aired out every 8-9 hours, a little aroma starts sneaking through. But opening the tent… oh, my friends, that’s where the magic happens! 🌬️💫 The aroma is intoxicating—imagine diving headfirst into a field of flowers while bees whisper secrets in your ears. 🌺🐝 I just sit there, enchanted, savoring the smell, and staring at these beauties like a hypnotized gardener. In week 7 the 12 plants have filled out the space inside the HOMEBOX grow-tent very nicely and therefore its time to switch to flowering. I change the timer, which I put infront of the supply of my SANlight EVO4-120 LEDs, to 12/12 hours of light/darkness. This will induce the flowering of my babies and they can start to develop buds. The BIO NOVA nutrients work very well, which can be seen in the nice healthy green color of the plants. I follow the SOIL-CULTIVATION chart from the BIO NOVA website, but use only half the recommended dose, because my tap-water already has a very high EC-value of 0,8 when it comes out of the faucet. Since I have used REGULAR seeds for THE PURPS from BC-BUD-DEPOT, I have to check for males on a regular basis. Two plants show clear male pollen-sacks already now (see above in video) and have to be culled right away. I cut the plants off at the main stem right above the soil and take away the plants and throw them into the trash right away. This way I make sure NO pollen can mature inside the male pollen-sacks and be released later and inseminate my babies on accident. In the places of the male PURPS plants, I put a MAC and KK-plant into the AUTOPOT-system, so all 12 placed are filled again. Now its time to wait until the first flowers start to appear. 👍😎

Estou trabalhando com fertilizantes orgânicos, comecei com Enraizante de lentilha, hoje comecei a fazer regas foliares e estou tentando usar uma técnica que aprendi para adicionar cálcio naturalmente na água, assim variando entre regas normais com água coletada da chuva e com água calcificada. possivelmente na próxima semana já mudarei os vasos. Essa técnica pra calcificar a água aprendi através da minha vó, ela cozinhava ovos e usava a mesma água pras raízes e nisso tem diversos pontos científicos, a casca do ovo tem grandes fontes de cálcio ao serem fervidas esse minério se desprende e se fixa na água, se tornando um tônico extremamente nutritivo. Fica a dica orgânica pra quem esta passando por problemas com baixo nível de cálcio Estou cultivando Arruda e Lavanda junto, elas afastam insetos e desfaçam o cheiro da cannabis, bom pra enganar aquele vizinho X9

Getting a little tight for space, the tobacco and kush has filled the grow space to capacity. The clone i took from the kush has taken well, will be interesting to see what she produces.
