Interview with SpinnerCaribbean

Q: Hi SpinnerCaribbean, how are you doing today? What’s on your agenda?
Please tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from? Where do you live? How old are you? Family? Kids? Pets?
A: Hello Bros and sis, I'm good today. My name is Mathias. It's Monday and Monday is my Sunday, so today I'm gonna take care of my garden, I mean my real garden with my pineapples, peppers and cinnamon trees that are growing in it.
I'm a 33 year old father of 2 nice boys who are draining my energy away because they never stop moving but every day is fun with them.
I have the most wonderful wife in the world (she will read this interview so ...) and 2 cats.
I'm from a little French island in the Caribbean called Martinique, a nice place to live if you love sun, music, beach and 55° alcohol like Rum.

Q: How and when did you start growing weed? Can you describe your first growing experience? How long have you been growing for? What’s in your grow tent right now?
A: I started growing weed in 2003/2004, approximately 6 months after my 1st time smoking weed, and my first grow experience was pretty cool, it was a Top 44 from Nirvana and a landrace from St. Vincent island, the Top 44 tasted awful and the Landrace didn't survive until harvest ( not even until the stretch ) but I learned the basics.
I was a total noob and it was pretty hard to find reliable information about cannabis growing back then.
I didn't understand English like today so the big forums like Overgrow were the better place to learn but also gibberish to me.
At this very moment I have some autos & photos growing at the same time. Autos are GSC, GG, West cost OG, Zkittles, Lemon Ak and more. Photos are Pineapple Express, Choco Haze, Amnesia #7, Tangerine Kush, Fruity Jack & more. I like to switch from one taste to another.

Q: Do your family and friends know you grow weed?
What’s the deal with cannabis legalisation over there where you live?
A: It depends on who you mean! Most of my friends know that I smoke weed, but only the closest ones know that I grow. About my family it's a bit different, most of them are aware that I'm a smoker but only one of my uncles and one of my aunts know that I grow because they are smokers too and I always give them a part of my crops.
Where I live it's still illegal to grow and smoke weed but it's pretty well accepted, when you're not dealing with black market nobody really cares about it. The authorities are more focused on the drugs smuggling boats than on the local growers.
I deeply believe that my country will legalise weed one day, but will not guarantee us the right to grow and smoke, although will secure themselves with an opportunity to get a nice amount of taxes thanks to us. I only hope it will be more like in the US than in Canada, I like the idea of having a legal weed market but I was told that the Canadian government is the grower & plug which is a state monopoly and I would prefer to see local business owners making money instead of the government but it is still better than no legal weed.

Q: What was your most successful grow project by now? Is there a Diary on GD?
A: According to me my most successful grow, it was my 2nd one so you won't be able to find it on GD. Because it was my 1st hydro experiment and I did it without pH & EC pen. My first time growing a clone (3 in fact ), my 1st cheese and since I never found another cheese like that one, it was a Cheese from Big Buddha Seeds and I will never forget it.
I will also never forget how I felt when I shared my 1st joint with a friend and just after the 1st puffs he told me something like: bring me to the guy who sold you that, I want some!

Q: How did you find GrowDiaries?
A: With Google and a bit of luck. I was searching for a way to track my grow so I typed a lot of key words to finally got a link to GrowDiaries and it's a real blessing because since I'm on GD, I can't get wrong on my feeding anymore, I admit that I'm not really methodical so my own tracking was mostly a sheet of paper that I was loosing all the time letting me guess which week I'm in and what feeding I should apply.

Q: What’s your favourite edible? How do you take your weed?
A: My favourite edible is the canna butter because when you cook with it it's nearly impossible to predict when and how deep you'll get high/stone and I like the surprise factor.
Thanks to @ChefDan420 I recently discovered the coco/canna oil that you can mix with chocolate or ice cream.
I also like the canna juice for e-cig because it's the perfect edible to get a stealth high/stone anywhere even though I found it less potent than a spliff.
I'm always rolling pure weed in a king size rolling paper as it is the usual way to smoke where I live but I recently acquired a bong to try another way to get stone.

Q: Is there anything you’d like to see added/changed on GrowDiaries? Do you have any suggestions you’d like to share?
A: Yes I would like to be able to rate with half a star because sometimes I feel like an in between rating would be more appropriate. I would also change a bunch of things with the grower of the month giveaway: 1st automatically close the question when the diary is harvested or reported as dead, 2nd allow the winner to only play every 3 months instead of the actual 2 months to allow a better rotation, 3rd create a GrowDiaries FAQ with the most common questions/answers to give the growers a way to have an instantaneous answers to the most popular questions.

And to finish I would try to find a way to make a difference between a regular grow and a sponsored by giving us the possibility to mention it clearly on the diaries.
