Nine Diares down, 1138 grams of likes, a ton of appreciation, and two tons of community love. This alien is always here with a piece of advice, the guy knows his stuff! But do we know stuff about him? GrowDiaries Team has reached out to B4RNS to ask a couple of questions about his private endeavourers :) Here is what he told us.
Q: Hey, B4RNs. How is life?
A: I would say it's like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get.
Q: Tell us about yourself. What do you do? Who are you?
A: I work in a Nutrients factory where we produce NH3 (ammonia) and Nitric Acid to make powerful nutrients like 33,5 N AN and 27-0-0 CAN.
Q: Why do you grow weed? When did you start doing it?
A: I grow Cannabis for medical and recreative purpose, fighting against anxiety, paranoia and insomnia with a flower in peace. I've start growing when I was 13 years old with a fish tank tube in my bedroom closet ( it was 25 years ago ). I've met Ben Dronkers I was 18 years old, that day was the famous day when I understood that Cannabis is hope not dope and where I get my first professional growing light a 400W Philips Master Son-T ballast. Running a 2 x 50 m2 operation at 22 years old I've had to stop everything (remember, life is like a box of chocolates...) . 38 years old, getting old, anxious, sometimes paranoia and can't get no sleep, trying the pills from our conventional medicine was making me feeling like a zombie, so I've just stopped those mad pills and start to do what I do the best , GROWING CANNABIS !
Q: What was the first strain you grew? What has eventually become your favorite genetics to grow?
A: My first strain was an unknown landsrace from the Hindu Kush mountains, rewarded from a Holiday Camp monitor, who bring them back from his tracking holidays, who never seen a 13 years old teenager smoking bigger joint than him, he gave me about 500gr. of seeds in an envelope. The Super Skunk is my favorite strain to grow, easy to grow, it gives you a good weed with a fast hit and a strong punch, with a big yield, I recommend for beginners.
Q: What's the main challenge when growing weed?
A: The main challenge is to fill up all the light coverage with buds.
Q: Does your family know you grow weed?
A: Yeah they know, but they don't wanna know, if you see what I mean
Q: Is growing cannabis legal in the country you live in?
A: No it's absolutely illegal, sometimes I imagine Bob Marley as a my lawyer telling the judge with that Jamaican accent ".... it's just a plant Man, ..it's just a plant" for my defense.
Q: How long have you been on the project by now? Do you see any positive changes?
A: Since a long time now. Growers community is getting bigger, sharing all their informations and growing tips more easier with the Internet, U.S legalization in some states has open the door to medical cannabis research, a small step for a man but a big step for the humanity.
Q: How do you think the 'likes and votes' problem can be resolved?
A: With some modo's who could be able to delete the likes after reading the comment and judging if its deserve it or not. Not a lot of work to do, they just have to keep an eye on the 5 growers of the month and the Top 10 growers to see if someone is cheating and faking by looking their activity. Voting should be enable for growers after 1 month age to avoid cheating on the Top 10 contest of the month.
