Honestly topping looks way scarier before trying it than it actually is :joy: If the plant is healthy and vigorous, she usually bounces back really fast. For me the key was waiting until the plant was established enough before cutting. And honestly I’m starting to really like the structure topping creates for SCROG :eyes::fire:

The two main tops maybe took a day to recover, but I was expecting that since, after topping, the growth hormones were being redistributed to the lateral branches. In fact, those branches kept pushing even harder right after the cut. But consider that before topping at the 5th node, I waited until the plant reached the 7th node, so between the 6th and 7th node there was already some “lost time” simply because I was waiting for the plant to be ready. So the slowdown happened more before the cut than after it.
