Wow. This growth rate is killer. :-) Can I ask what's in the super soil?

How do you find working with the straw mulch? I know it helps retain moisture; but do you find it makes it harder to determine how much water is needed?

What's the story with the little christmas tree candle? Is that adding something to the environment or was it just for a decorated Xmas shot?
