AI assisted translation. Week 1 and 2: Your VPD was around 0.4 in week 1. In my opinion, that is too low once the seedlings are above ground. I would remove the humidity dome at that point. VPD values are also not perfectly accurate without leaf temperature, so 0.6 measured VPD can already mean something like 0.5 to 0.7 in reality. Young plants can handle that well, and a bit more transpiration usually means better growth. Week 3: The plants were still quite small, but already had 4 nodes. That makes me think the early environment slowed them down. I would also focus on a very light and airy substrate, especially for autos, because they can grow much faster when the roots have an easy time. Training: If they grow faster, you can also train earlier. Around the 3rd node is a good point, and I would remove the upper leaf that blocks the lower shoots, so they get light earlier. Pests: You had pest pressure in the first weeks. I would either start directly with beneficial insects or try a different soil. To me, the early issues look more like wet substrate, low VPD and root stress building up together. Week 4: This was the first feeding. The CalMag dose looked quite high and probably was not necessary in this case. With BioBizz, feeding 2 to 3 times per week is usually enough, no matter how often you water. Bloom could also have been around 1 ml/L here. If possible, I would move VPD more toward 1.0 to 1.1 at this stage. More transpiration means more nutrient movement and usually more growth. Week 6: Here you gave quite a lot of CalMag and Bloom. The plant handled it, but the slightly burnt tips show that less probably would have been enough. The Lemon Kix in particular might have needed no CalMag and generally less fertilizer. It feels like the early issues kept building up over time. Light: The manufacturer recommends around 30 cm distance. As a rough idea, maybe 25 percent in week 1, 45 percent in week 2, 55 percent in week 3, 65 percent in week 4, 75 percent in week 5 and around 85 percent in week 7 could work, depending on plant reaction. Maybe that is even a bit high, but if you stayed much lower, light may also have limited growth. General tip: Have you checked your local water report for calcium, magnesium and pH? That helped me a lot. I also would not recommend expensive fertilizers first. The basic products already provide everything, and the real challenge is using them properly. I cannot really judge Dutch Passion autos in general, but with autos you can clearly see that breeders like Sweet Seeds, Fast Buds, Speedrun Seeds or Mephisto have some very stabilized lines. Autos are not automatically small, leafy or weak. If that happens, it is usually either genetics, early conditions or grower skill.

They describe her as compact, medium-sized, and mostly average in height. They also mention that she is best grown indoors in a SOG setup, and that because of her compact nature, she is not really ideal for scrogging, bending, cropping, or super-cropping. The larger sativa-dominant phenotype seems to be more of an exception. So in this case, I would not blame the grower too much. It might simply be the genetics doing what they are supposed to do. In a SOG setup with many small plants, maybe even in 0.5 to 1 liter pots, I think this strain could actually be great.

Might have been a bit too cautious but I did have a feeling the manufacturer guidance was on the low side and they could have used more during veg. On feeding: I skipped BioBizz Grow entirely because I hadnt even started feeding when they began flowering. I had 2/3 dose Monster Bud Mix (slow release full cycle) in the soil so I thought they’d be getting enough N by week 4 and went straight to BioBizz Bloom. I believe I started feeding CalMag too because leaves showed definciency. But I’ll definitely have to pay more attention to dosage guidelines - I realized (too late) that I went a bit over. On water: Im pHing to somewhere around 6.0-6.4 every watering (measured and adjusted after adding nutes of course). No idea about minerals except I think it’s supposed to be somewhat “hard” water. I actually prefer using water from my rain water tank when there aren’t three heatwaves in 2 months… On soil: This is a big one and I need some advice here. Ive been using veggie garden soil from the garden center and add around 10% perlite. I did have the feeling that it turns pretty dense after watering for a few weeks. Any suggestions on how to improve and mix up something that stays more airy? On genetics: I agree partially. I should have read the info earlier and not LST’d her that hard. But the untrained one yielded even less… I’ve grown autos with similar breeder info before (Short veg - although Ive never seen 4 weeks - medium height, etc) and under worse condition that grew 50% more biomass then these. Im currently cultivating my first batch of compost and am about to order the basic stuff from Biotabs to try a different route. Any other suggestions welcome! <span class="link_user">@DomForester</span>, I have no concert at all just sharing from my experience. Cal. Is cal-mag but i see you growing in soil so may be light on nutrients. And yes is a nightmare to grow outdoors in Florida at this time of the year. But nothing all good. Happy growing

<span class="link_user">@Smokeonebig</span>, I appreciate your concern but not quite sure what to do with your input. ppm - yes, feed nutrients at the right level. no rocket science. cal - what? calcium? same as above heat in florida - little less of an issue in northern europe going into september location - not sure what you mean or did that also refer to florida? autoflowers grow fast - i’d rather say they have short veg times and thus are less forgiving but yes im aware. not my first rodeo (although i did make some mistakes with too much lst in one of my previous runs) is your overall concern having this particular strain outdoors? or autoflowers outdoors in general?
