When you cut leave i heard that you have to keep a bit, anyway it will die and fall off, but you will have extra mini pump in her place .... I do it myself always. With branches i thought you have to go flat with body. Plus its very dangerous to expode to light or any pests its like heart surgery without doctor sewing you up after ... People are covering wounds with different treatments. Hope it all good and your lights will come soon. Time to show some flowers !
